The Upseat Baby Seat is a versatile floor seat designed for infants who are learning to sit up. It can be attached to a standard dining chair, providing a safe and supportive seating option for mealtime or playtime.
Pros (+)
- Versatile design that attaches to dining chairs
- Supports babies learning to sit up
- Easy to clean and maintain
Cons (−)
- Pricey for a floor seat
- Requires a regular chair for use
- Not a traditional high chair option
Why parents like it
Many parents appreciate how the Upseat can be strapped to a dining chair, making it easy to integrate into family meals. Its design offers excellent support for babies learning to sit up.
Common complaints
While most parents are happy with the Upseat, a few mention that it feels expensive for what it is. Additionally, some parents note that it requires a regular chair for use, which may not suit all living situations.
Parents looking for a compact and versatile seating solution for their baby. The tradeoff is that it requires a separate chair and comes at a higher price point.
The Upseat is a solid choice for parents seeking a supportive seat for their baby, though it may not be the best value for everyone.

Upseat! Love it. We also got a stokke but haven’t set it up in our teeny tiny NYC kitchen just yet. Our LO is 8 months and the upseat has been lovely. We got the refurbished one on their website.

We used the upseat strapped to a regular dining chair for the first bit until the baby could sit more properly on her own at 6-7mo

We have the mockingbird and I really like it! I’ll say that my baby has been on the smaller side and we kind of had a hard time using it when we first started solids bc there was too much room in the seat and she would kind of slouch- so we either rolled up towels to support her or fed her in the Upseat. She WAS sitting up at this time but now for super long periods. Also, an important tip I learned: purées carrots stain super bad-rubbing olive oil on the stain is the best way to get it out!

We actually got an upseat for our kiddo and left it attached to one of the kitchen chairs. It's worked out really well for us!

IKEA with footrest. My daughter has some tone issues and just all around it doesn’t provide proper support for eating even with a footrest which I added. It’s insane the complete change in her eating that took place with a proper chair. I’ve had friends whose kids don’t have tone issues go from the ikea chair to another chair and also have their kids eat better. I truly thought it was amazing and an amazing price point but I regret it so much. Keekaroo with infant seat. It’s similar to the Tripp trapp but the tray doesn’t wrap around your child as nicely and the chair isn’t nearly as adjustable as the Tripp trapp. The upseat. Which isn’t a traditional high chair but we did use it as one when travelling and camping. It was also better than the ikea chair but obviously it’s a bit smaller so she was getting too big for it. Tripp trapp, completely adjustable. We were able to add the keekaroo toddler seat to it too for the extra cushioning in her trunk.

So if you don’t have a table, besides the outdoor table, and counter space is limited, where do you eat? You can consider a floor seat with a tray like an Upseat or the Bumbo Multi Seat. You can feed the baby with the chair on the floor or strap it to a normal chair so they are higher up without adding something large like a standard high chair to your small house.

The upseat is amazing. Our tiny 2.5 year old still uses it. Great longevity on that, our best baby purchase by far.

We got an Upseat that we strapped to a dining room chair. Got a KABOOST to lift the whole dinning chair up a little bit for our second but 100% not necessary. The upseat is supposed to be good for posture and we wash the tray in the dishwasher.
Thread: "How do you like your ikea high chair?"
Alternatively, we have the Upseat strapped to a chair that we use in lieu of an actual high chair. 10/10 recommend (baby is 9 months old now). This is my third kiddo, and my second to use a baby/toddler seat strapped to a chair. It’s so practical, easy to clean, and affordable. Personally I find all high chairs ugly and too much. And they’re babies/toddlers for such a short time that it seems weird to spend hundreds of dollars on something I won’t be using in less than 5 years. (I say this as a parent of an 18yo as well)

We just bought the upseat - which you can attach to a regular seat ! It’s OK, but you have to sit down and it’s still pretty expensive. And we also bought a used Stokke, still waiting on its arrival!

We have the upseat on a kitchen chair and we can still tuck the chair under the table

Honestly we use the Upseat at home on a dining chair. Super easy to clean and baby feels supported. It is also transportable. We bring it with us to eat out.

Honestly, just buy an Upseat. It’s ergonomical, can sit on the floor, on a table or it attaches to any chair. Removable tray that’s easy to clean and it’s easily packed up to take with you.

We used the upseat (baby is 2nd percentile) till she was ready for the Tripp trapp.

We just got an UpSeat and strapped it onto a wood dining chair 😅 https://preview.redd.it/wz9pp73hi7xd1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=07cc3dd560edcdbf3a3735c37e2be112d149ec12
