As everyone said a good prenatal that you can keep down is important! As soon as I hit 6 weeks I started getting nauseous/vomiting so I kept emesis bags in my car and a small trash bin. I ate small meals and had things like granola bars and a water bottle close by at all times too throughout my whole pregnancy.

Honestly don’t think you need anything, just a good prenatal which I’m assuming you would have already been taking if you’re TTC? Almost 16 weeks and don’t have any need for a pregnancy pillow ! I haven’t bought anything out of the ordinary
    r/pregnantu/ListenDifficult9943· ⬆ 2
I would have some things on hand to combat nausea, just in case! When my nausea hit, it was nice to be able to try a few things and see what worked best. I bought small things of preggy pops, ginger chews, plain crackers, B6 vitamins, and Unisom. All of it ended up being useful and I bought more of what worked best. For me, the nausea came on so suddenly and it was nice that I had things on hand to combat it right away!

The only thing you *need* in the first trimester is a good prenatal vitamin. If you experience constipation or nausea you might need extra meds for that, but not everyone experiences that. Anything else isn't necessary per se but if you feel more comfortable with it (like a heating pad, pregnancy pillow, maternity clothes, etc) then go for it! Anything except a prenatal will vary person to person.

I’ve just hit 16 weeks and am glad I didn’t purchase anything other than prenatals and loose underwear. It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking you need things too early. Maybe fill some online carts with maternity clothes you will want for later on. I did buy a tummy cream for stretch marks early though.

No matter what gestation you are, things can go wrong. You’re not jinxing it by buying stuff, but whenever you want to and feel ready to.

We didn't start buying big things until the 3rd trimister.
    r/BabyBumpsu/RemarkableAd9140· ⬆ 14
With my first, I bought some clothes around this time because my body was starting to change, it made me feel bad, and buying some clothes to remind myself there was a reason was helpful. But it’s so, so individual. We didn’t buy anything else until much later, late second into third trimester.

Nesting mode: the nursery comes together, and the car seat needs to be installed before the hospital lets you drive away.

Portable fan, my giant water bottle, pantyliners, clinical-strength deodorant, and my CRZ Yoga maternity leggings and Momcozy maternity underwear from Amazon. We also recently upgraded our mattress to a king-size one with an adjustable base, so I don’t have to lie flat on my back *and* I have room to stretch out.

Pregnancy pillows, quick-eeze, my big ass water bottle, my little portable threadmill so I can walk in the comfort of my own living room

I know that instagram makes you think you need a whole bunch of stuff, but I literally bought nothing other than two pairs of maternity yoga pants, 1 maternity tshirt, and 1 casual maternity dress. Oh, and vitamins.

Unisom, maternity pants, huge water bottle, close proximity to the bathroom

A cute matching robe and swaddle for the hospital, Milkmaid Goods has super cute ones but there are a lot of brands. I got one with my son and then another set for this coming baby. And lots of Epsom salts! Also another vote for a prenatal massage.

I was skeptical about the Baby Bjorn bouncer because of the price, but that thing was a lifesaver. Whenever my daughter was gassy and having a bad time, we’d pop her in there for 5-10 minutes, she’d let loose with whatever backed up gas or poo was ailing her, and she’d be happy as a clam again.

80000 burp rags. Had a happy spitter and we went through SO MANY. Also Bibs. Not just for food I found out. Swaddles. My baby didn't like to swaddle so we just didn't 🤷🏼‍♀️

Monitor with a camera. Nothing fancy, just needed to be able to see baby sleeping and know if they were just making noise in their sleep or needed to be fed or changed. Owlet. Never took it out of the box.

Booger nose picker…. A portable fan for baby stroller…. Giant vacuum seal bags to store all the clothes they grow out of each month without taking up space

We didn't think we needed the stroller bassinet but it was essential for our second baby and would've made a huge difference with our first if we had had it. Also, highly recommend lots and lots of snacks you can eat with one hand!

Alllllll the baby proofing stuff. Gates, corner covers, a massive play pen, etc... and feeding stuff! A highchair, bibs (both smock and silicone bibs), plates, bowls, cutlery, etc...

My PT just told us we should consider: climbing structures (Pikler and/or foam blocks), a swing, and imaginary toys (like pretend food, mop and broom set, kitchen set, etc.). She said not to bother with a push walker. Maybe that helps?
    r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAuu/No-Concentrate-9786· ⬆ 31
I’d build on this and say don’t bother buying a pump until you know you need one. You can borrow one from the hospital as a stop gap!

Newborn carrier like the ergobaby embrace - essential for having two hands free while baby naps on you.
    r/moderatelygranolamomsu/pizzasong· ⬆ 19
We bought a used high quality high chair (Tripp trapp) and are liking it so far, though I’m not sure it was worth the $100. We did buy new silicone baby utensils and cups since I wasn’t comfortable buying those used. We also bought a used large playpen for the crawling stage since our downstairs is hard to fully baby proof.

Bath toys that don’t have holes in them Bubbles - so cute when they try to learn to blow them! A good toddler step stool (the ones with the sides encased so they can’t fall) Those bibs with the scoop at the bottom to catch falling food Thick crayons (scrap paper is fine!) Duplo blocks or those magnet building blocks
    r/NewParentsu/walphriggum69· ⬆ 27
Anything that isn’t a toy 😅 right now he loves this half filled bottle of water. We did get him those colourful stacking rings that he’s been enjoying but he really just loves to bang and make noise.
    r/NewParentsu/JoeDramatic· ⬆ 17
Put half of the toys away and rotate them out every couple weeks. My baby stopped playing with every single toy until he stopped seeing them all constantly - only wanted the tv remote, phone charger, random glass bottles, steam pipes, knives, you get it - then we started rotating when he would stop being engaged, and it's a brand new play room again.

My son has been obsessed with pushing stroller/walkers/anything with wheels since he started being able to pull himself to stand at about 8 months old. He is now over 15m and still at it.

Yep! She’s 16mo but has been playing in it since about 14-ish mo. She did eat it once or twice but she learned quickly it’s not nice! The bigger issue is it getting in her hair. Or her constantly dump sand into her onesie 🤣
