Swaddle Me swaddle

The Swaddle Me swaddle is designed to help newborns feel secure and sleep better by mimicking the snugness of the womb. It features adjustable Velcro wings to keep babies swaddled while allowing for easy diaper changes.

Pros (+)

  • Helps soothe fussy babies with a snug fit
  • Adjustable Velcro wings make swaddling easy
  • Effective for babies with active arms

Cons (−)

  • Can become too short as babies grow
  • Some parents report deformation after drying
  • Not suitable for babies who roll early

Why parents like it

Many parents appreciate the snug fit that helps their babies sleep better, especially those with active arms. The adjustable Velcro wings are also highlighted for making swaddling easy and secure.

Common complaints

A few parents report that the swaddles can get deformed in the dryer, affecting their usability. Additionally, some mention that the swaddles become too short as their babies grow, limiting their use.

Best for

Parents looking for a reliable swaddle to help soothe their newborn. Just be aware that it may not fit as well once your baby starts to grow.

Bottom line

The Swaddle Me swaddle is effective for calming babies, but its limited lifespan as they grow can be a drawback.

Thread: "Best Velcro swaddle?"

We love the Swaddle Me swaddlers. Our 1 month old LO also has Houdini hands and we have the best luck with the Swaddle Me brand. We really have to pull them tight though, or else she'll even break out of them!

I’m loyal to Ollie. We loved swaddle me too, but Ollie is one size for all ages and he grew out of swaddle me. Ollie is tight and comforting and I haven’t had to buy a 2nd when he got too big! also Ollie is hollow at the bottom so you can change diaper by just going through the feet hole;)

Thread: "Am I in the minority when I say Halo sleep sacks are terrible?"

I loved halo sleep sacks until I bought a brand new one that gave my baby a rash. We had two used ones before that but they were getting too small. I switched to swaddle me swaddles, they're great, but I don't recommend the ones with the zipper at the bottom, it turned out to be useless in terms of changing his diaper easily. He also grew out of those pretty quickly. Now, the nested bean swaddle, ✨magical✨. This thing is enormous compared to the swaddle me swaddle, and the weighted parts of it are great because my baby started only settling after night feeds if I had my hand on his chest. I did get good at using swaddle blankets (finally!) but I only use those during the day if I'm having trouble getting him down for a nap.

We liked the Swaddle Me for the first few weeks but then they got too short. We now use the halo ones that can also be used as a sleep sack later on. The halo has the option to keep it on for diaper changes but we prefer to take them off for two reasons. The first is that baby would be two snoozy to feed if they are warm and toasty. This would lead to us being woken up again quickly. The second is that baby may wet or dirty the swaddle in process or diaper change. This happened once but we luckily had a extra. This is when we stopped attempting to keep it on. Edit - we also have the love to dream with that is an arms up swaddle because baby was like that in the womb. She did not like that one at all.

I second this. We started off with the halo, but our daughter is a squirmer and the fabric would end up over her mouth. Switched to the Ollie and used it until she started rolling.

Are we the same? Almost exactly the same experience. Started with Swaddle Me which were great but got snug really quickly. Then moved on to Halo which we loved. Also note on the diaper change we did a ton of diaper changes from 1-3ish weeks but then once baby was giving us longer stretches and only waking up 1-3 times a night at 4+ weeks we only did like one diaper change a night so was not as much of an issue. We also got the love to dream swaddle. Our baby doesn’t *hate* it but we don’t like it for overnight sleeps. We mainly use it for naps when she naturally already had her arms up.

Thread: "When buying a swaddle, what did you prioritize the most?"

Yeah we had three types: - [Swaddle Up](https://www.target.com/p/love-to-dream-swaddle-up-adaptive-original-swaddle-wrap-gray-small/-/A-17081573) - [Swaddle Me](https://www.target.com/p/swaddleme-by-ingenuity-monogram-collection-swaddle-wrap-for-ages-0-3-month-elephant-dance-3pk/-/A-92614920) - [Halo Swaddle](https://www.target.com/p/halo-innovations-swaddle-100-cotton-swaddle-wrap-midnight-moons-s/-/A-82205025) The swaddle up is fine in terms of materials, very easy to wash, but our kid didn’t seem to sleep as well in it. It seemed like he slept more restlessly in it. So we stopped using it. The Swaddle Me was fine, but they got deformed in the dryer and it was not repairable. It also seemed like our kid outgrew it in a few weeks. We’ve basically been using the Halo Swaddle for the last few weeks. The durability also isn’t great. Some of the threads have started to fray because of the Velcro. It’s also harder to use than the other two, but it’s bigger and seems to actually hold the baby’s arms in place better. He also seems to sleep well in it. So I would say it’s a combination of what actually works and the durability.

Thread: "love to dream swaddle"

Our LO is 3months now and has been in the love to dream this whole time. I think swaddles are a personal preference for the baby and neither is inherently better than the other When we used the muslin swaddle blankets in the first 2 weeks they were fine as he would sleep tightly wrapped but as he grew in strength, he began forcing his arms out. Same with the Swaddle me, he’d slide his arms past the Velcro. That was week 5 and by then we knew for sure the Love to dream was his preference. The product itself is good enough. We had to go on their website to directly order the lighter 0.2 TOG since he was born in the summer. BBB was out of stock and only the website had some nicer looking colors. Now, He’s in the regular 1.0TOG with pajamas underneath for the nights. We only bought 2 of each size to have him covered. NB, Small and then medium. He may start rolling eventually so don’t buy a lot.

These were a lifesaver for us. We gift them to everyone at baby showers.

I wish I had gotten the ollie sooner! I waited until I was dead exhausted at three months and the Ollie was amazing!
