I use the Love To Dream 'Swaddle Up' which is suitable from birth, although if your baby is very tiny then the newborn size might be too big. Saying that I'm not sure whether my baby actually sleeps better swaddled. He's only 4 weeks but I feel like he just falls asleep when he's tired, for however long he likes, whether he's just in a sleep suit or swaddled. And sometimes when I try to swaddle him after he's fallen asleep, I just end up waking him up.

Waking themselves up is a SIDS deterrent. Any type of swaddle isn’t recommended. If they get into a position they can’t breathe they can’t use their arms to get out of it.
Doing a lot of sensory play by sort of tipping your baby down might help. Like exaggerated putting down motion of that makes sense

Zipadee is different. Their website says they are safe for rolling babies and there is actually a minimum age/size to use them and they have sizes up toddler. It is more of a transition sack than a swaddle and is designed for babies to be able to roll and move in. The love to dream is the same as regular swaddle once baby start to show signs of rolling (or some advise 8 weeks as a percaution since they will often start rolling soon after that) they need to transition to arms free. I'm not familiar with that brand specifically but it looks like after swaddles they sell transition sacks and regular sleep sacks.

We transitioned to a love to dream pretty early, around 5-6 weeks maybe? For naps and nights. She started rolling during tummy time to her back at 9 weeks. We switched to the Merlin suit at 10 weeks for nights, woolino sleep sack for naps. People keep saying the Merlin suit is weighted, I don’t understand that. Ours is three layers of cotton. I asked our ped about it and he says it’s fine, no concern, he says it’s not weighted. She is able to soothe herself with her hands still.
Our daughter sleeps 7:30-6am with one wake up around 2am since we moved to the Merlin. Previously 2 wakeups. No issues with overheating. Cotton footed sleeper underneath, room at 19c. Woolino for naps no issues, she contact naps only still so that is kind of rough but the night sleep is golden.

I wanted to wait until she was big enough to transition to the arms out love to dream (13 or 14 lbs I think?) but she started showing signs of rolling so we had to transition earlier than I'd like. No issues with the Zippadee Zip so far and it's been about 2 weeks.

I would recommend moving to transitional swaddles or arm out. The first few days might be a bit tough as they get used to having more freedom, but it gets better! The love to dream, zipadee, and baby Merlin magic sleep suites were all recommend to my husband and I.

Seconding love to dream zip up sack. We tried various swaddles, and this was the best for us. I especially loved that it’s so easy to get him into that we could do it when he was half asleep without waking him up. Our 4.5 mo is now in the transitional suit, and it’s great, too.

My daughter likes the Love to Dream swaddles. We didn’t do anything to introduce her to the swaddle, we just started putting her in it for naps. I recommend getting the one that can “transition” with the arm covers that zip on-off.

Agree on Love to Dream. We’ve just started unzipping them now at 4 months as his startle reflex has finally gone
Thread: "Tell me your experience with transition out of swaddle"

Same here. We tried traditional and velcro swaddles for the first few days before switching to the love to dream. After 2ish months we transitioned to regular sleep sacks.

This is the way to go, IMO. Just open the Velcro slowly when your LO is asleep. Edit: it also seems to reduce the risk of hip dysplasia.
