Nested Bean Zen One

The Nested Bean Zen One is a versatile swaddle designed to help babies sleep better by mimicking the soothing touch of a parent's hand. It features adjustable arms, a removable design for easy transitions, and a combination of velcro and fabric for a secure fit.

Updated August 2026 · ranked from real Reddit discussions

Pros (+)

  • Helps babies sleep better with adjustable arms
  • Removable design aids in transition to arms-free sleeping
  • Secure fit with velcro and fabric combination

Cons (−)

  • Limited color options available
  • Some parents desire clearer washing instructions

Why parents like it

Many parents highlight the Zen One's ability to accommodate babies who prefer their arms out while still providing a snug fit. The removable arms feature is particularly appreciated for easing the transition as babies grow.

Common complaints

Most parents have no complaints, though a few mention the lack of detailed washing instructions. Some also wish for more color options to choose from.

Best for

Parents looking for a swaddle that adapts as their baby grows and prefers arms out. The tradeoff is that it may not suit all babies' sleep preferences.

Bottom line

The Nested Bean Zen One is a highly recommended swaddle for parents seeking a versatile sleep solution for their babies.

Based on our limited 1-child experience: Velcro swaddle: Halo Arms up: Love to Dream Combo (velcro, arms up, transition): Nested Bean Zen One (more bang for buck)

We used both the Nested Bean Zen One and Love to Dream Swaddle Up. Both our babies slept well in them!

Do you have a source for this about the zippadeezip? I'm not finding it when I google it. I have them on my registry and will remove them if they are unsafe.

I second the nested bean zen one! Our guy hated having his arms swaddled from the start, so we would swaddle from the armpits down, but he would still startle himself awake. We like that he can keep his arms up in this and that the arm pockets can be removed for when he does start to roll. It's also slightly weighted so it feels like you have your hand on him.

+1 to the Halo! We bought one, used it for a night, and went the next day to buy another four more

My girl is 2 1/2 months and sometimes she likes being swaddled and escapes it but doesn’t wake. Other time she loves this sleep sack. The little arms are removable too [nested bean zen one](https://www.nestedbean.com/products/zen-one-classic?variant=30333153738855) Check this out!

I’m so sorry. Lack of sleep is excruciating! My other idea would be to swaddle in just one arm and see if he’s more comfortable that way and doesn’t struggle as much?

Requesting a source for the Zipadee Zip being unsafe please? This is the one that was always recommended by even the most militant safe sleep FB groups.
