Mountain Buggy Duet

The Mountain Buggy Duet is a side-by-side double stroller designed for twins or siblings close in age. It features a narrow design for easy maneuverability and a compact fold for storage.

Pros (+)

  • Narrow design fits through tight spaces easily
  • Smooth maneuverability even with two children
  • Compact fold for easy storage

Cons (−)

  • Heavier than some parents prefer
  • Higher price point compared to other options

Why parents like it

The stroller is noted for being one of the narrowest on the market, making it easier to navigate through tight spaces. Parents also appreciate how smoothly it handles, even with two children.

Common complaints

The weight is a common concern, especially for parents who need to lift it frequently. A few parents mention the price as being on the higher side for a double stroller.

Best for

Parents with twins looking for a narrow stroller that folds compactly for travel. Be prepared for a heavier stroller that may be less convenient to lift.

Bottom line

The Mountain Buggy Duet is ideal for parents of twins, balancing compactness with ease of use, though its weight and price may be drawbacks.

Also if you want to go down one more rabbit hole I am thinking of switching to the Valco Slim Twin Sport eventually, once they are in regular stroller seats. My impression is it's a bit less rugged than the MB but still narrow (we have a tiny elevator) and easy to fold. There's really no reason for me to switch away from the MB besides that the Valco is a bit lighter and more svelte. My impression is that it's similar to a Zoe but narrower, and with the Sport wheels can handle some rough roads.

I've been rocking the Mountain Buggy Duet for my twins who are now 19months. It's great. The only double stroller that fits into my Tiguan 🫣 And yes, not much else. So I bought roof racks! And pread them so I can strap the stroller down when needing the boot space. But yeah, in 6 months time. I'm upgrading the car 🚗

When our second was born, I babywore exclusively and didn’t order the second seat for the stroller until baby was over 3 months old. I don’t have any personal experience with a c-section and babywearing, but a ring sling doesn’t have a waistband and could be a good option for you to consider. Maybe ask in the r/babywearing subreddit for other mom’s experiences with babywearing and c-sections. Strollers that might fit your criteria: - Mountain Buggy Nano Duo. Side-by-side travel stroller that has a carrycot to convert a seat to newborn compatible. Note the lower weight limits of the seats to make sure it will work for your toddler. - Mountain Buggy Duet. Another side-by-side double stroller but is one of the narrowest on the market and folds pretty compact. Would give you more storage than the travel strollers. Newborn compatible lay-flat seats, but you can also get a bassinet type seat fabric set.

I can only give my experience of the two double buggies that I used - the mountain buggy duet and an inline one (can’t remember the brand) The MBD is heavy and expensive, but it’s really nice to manoeuvre around. The bar is far enough behind the back wheels to be able to steer easily with one hand (in comparison to the inline one where the bar was above the back wheels, so it too much more effort to steer) I liked that the MBD could have both seats go completely flat - really useful for naps on the go. Plus the hand brake (bike style) was useful on slopes.
