Ergobaby Metro+

🥇 Best Value

The Ergobaby Metro+ is a compact travel stroller designed for easy transport and storage. It features a near-flat recline, fits in overhead compartments, and is suitable for children from birth up to 50 pounds.

Pros (+)

  • Fits easily in overhead compartments
  • Lightweight and easy to carry
  • Maneuvers well in tight spaces

Cons (−)

  • Concerns about long-term durability
  • Basket size could be larger
  • Limited storage options for longer trips

Why parents like it

Parents praise its lightweight design and ability to fit in overhead bins on flights. Many find it easy to maneuver in busy travel environments.

Common complaints

Some parents express concerns about the stroller's long-term durability, particularly with frequent use. A few also mention that the basket size could be larger for carrying essentials.

Best for

Parents seeking a lightweight stroller for frequent travel and city outings. The tradeoff is that it may not hold up as well under heavy daily use compared to sturdier models.

Bottom line

The Ergobaby Metro+ is a great travel stroller for those who prioritize compactness, but some parents have raised concerns about its long-term durability.

I have heard not so great reviews about the baby zen yoyo, so crossed that off my list. Nina travl is still too big in my book. I went with the Ergobaby metro+ and have absolutely zero complaints. Small enough for overhead, rides great, comfortable for us to push, baby sits practically upright unlike a lot of travel strollers, and it even lays nearly flat for naps and for small babies the footrest is adjustable and can turn it into a bassinet. Would 100% purchase again, I wish I had it from the start and not the giant mockingbird stroller.

omg get this. in the last 18 months i have been on 15 flights and accompanying trips with this stroller. i am writing this from europe where it has been basically offroading and doing cobblestone streets daily. it is a beast. we literally strapped our kid's carseat to the back of it with bungee cords to avoid carrying the carseat around the airport. we have TESTED this thing - and it's amazing. you will NOT regret it! i have an uppababy vista v2 that lives in my garage for neighbourhood walks, but this one folds up so easily and so small and so it lives in my suv trunk for the mall, zoo, museums, library etc etc etc. i use it CONSTANTLY. my kiddo loves it, it's super comfy and has a big canopy and a deep pocket on the back of the seat perfect for a few diapers, wipes and his water bottle.

If I could do it over, I would first invest in a good travel stroller first. We use the ergo baby metro +. Small enough to fit in the over head compartment of planes, can lay completely flat (so no need for newborn inserts) and compatible with our Nuna pipa car seat with an adapter. We also have the uppa baby vista and I only use it on walks as it stays in our garage. While it’s high quality, it’s too heavy and bulky to put in the car to go the supermarket, dinner or travel with .

We were in the same situation and snagged the ergobaby metro+ in the 200s during black friday and love it! The only thing I don't love is the unfold, but otherwise we're really happy with it both as a daily city stroller and as a travel stroller. We also used it a ton for sleep when our baby refused to sleep elsewhere when travelling.

I would say check out Joolz Aer and uppababy minu while they are on sale. Joolz Aer is on sale for 25% and minu was on sale for 15% in store only. I decided to go with joolz aer, but if you are looking for something less expensive than i think ergobaby metro + is great as well. I think joolz aer is only sold by one retailer in Canada and Minu was not on sale for everywhere though. ergobaby gives 15% coupon when you sign up which could be used for their stroller. I tried Joolz Aer in store and really liked high light it is, so went with that.

I bought this stroller from Best Buy roughly the same price back in August. I really like it; I've taken it on a plane and put it in the overhead bin. I like how easy it is to open with one hand, and I find it reasonably light. The reason I bought it was mainly for travel, to have something I don't need to gate check, I wanted something that would hold up to the cobblestone/ uneven sidewalks, as well as lays flat for naps on the go. Knowing that it's held up when pushing in ice and snow this winter gives me confidence it'll hold up for our European trip in September. I had to buy the cup holder, support bar, carry bag, and weather cover separately. But not all at once, just as I needed them. I know you can get the next model up on their website with some of the accessories included for more. I don't have much to say in terms of cons, it does everything I need it for, and haven't had any complaints or problems with it in the past 7 months.

We LOVE our Ergobaby metro. It’s super easy to fold. Unfolding is easy too but not one handed. Have to make sure the handle comes up before you push the seat down but it’s easy once you get the hang of it. In LA I had the baby on my hip, a backpack and a shoulder bag and I closed it one handed to get on a shuttle and someone called me super mom. Gonna ride that high forever.

I have the metro+ as my travel stroller. It is super compact (fits in the backseat footwell of our sedan) and maneuvers well. The basket is pretty small though - it can barely fit the diaper bag and that's it. Personally I wouldn't use this as my stroller if you are planning on grocery shopping with it (my main stroller is an UB Cruz v2). My son is 80+ percentile for height still as a 2 year old and fits on the metro+ with no problem.

That’s a good price, I don’t recall it going lower on Boxing Day. I like it! Sturdy but also pretty light and compact. One hand opening takes practice but it’s doable. I love the full recline for naps on the go, the canopy is excellent and we had an insert for winter that has served us well. The only minor con is that the baby can only face outwards which took some getting used to when she was very little.

We love our Ergobaby metro stroller for travel. I think it’s checks most of your boxes and it did fine for us all through Scotland. For what it’s worth, decided to just go ahead and use our American car seat for that Scotland trip. I read a lot of pros and cons to renting a UK seat while we were there and ultimately I was more comfortable knowing it was our seat and hadn’t been through an accident. From what I read most law enforcement doesn’t really care if you have a foreign car seat and it’s not an issue they would press but that may depend on the country and obviously depends what level of risk you’re comfortable with.

+1 for Ergobaby Metro+. I did a bunch of research and found it to be the best balance of features to price. You can easily spend 2x on a travel stroller but Ergobaby offers a great value proposition. Only two minor downsides: 1. The sun shade is perched up quite a bit higher than the seat, so even when fully extended there is a considerable room for sunlight to hit the kid 2. Even in the most upright position, the back is slightly reclined. Now that our kiddo is almost 2, he seems to want to be more upright.

Hi, I actually have both the metro+ and I just got the metro 3. I traveled all around Japan with a 15-month-old with the metro+ so it’s not a bad travel or everyday stroller option by any means but I will say that the metro 3 has several features that make me like it more and are worth the additional price: - ease of folding / unfolding: I always struggled with the mechanism for the metro+, and never liked that sometimes I would have to use both hands; with the metro 3 I can easily fling it open with one  - the canopy: the metro+ canopy is really glitchy which can also make it more inconvenient to use and the metro 3 canopy is expandable!  - the wheels: either stroller actually has good wheels but so far metro 3 are smooth and their suspension is better than my other stroller (Nuna TRVL)  - standing upright: the metro+ would often fall over in the trunk while the metro 3 has been holding more steady  - newborn features: not sure if this is applicable to you now or later but the metro 3 has a whole new attachment / encasement for newborns that the metro+ doesn’t have There are more comparisons / reasons why, but honestly, the folding mechanism and the canopy were such deal breakers for me that I won’t be using the metro+ any more and have moved on to the 3. If it makes you feel any better it looks like metro + strollers have free returns if you decide to try that one first  https://ergobaby.com/return-policy.

We have the metro+ and we love it. It’s not a one hand fold, but doesn’t really bother me as LO is in the car seat before I fold/open the stroller. I think it’s quite sturdy and great value for money. It has larger wheels compared to other travel stroller for a sturdier ride. The basket is small, but for large grocery run, LO is in the grocery cart or both parents are there so we don’t really use the basket much. I think metro 3 is a one hand fold and has a bigger basket if that’s important to you.

Hey OP - how is it going with the Metro3? I’ve seen some great reviews online but then I’ve also seen this trend where people are having issues with the brake mechanism and one of the wheels locking up. It would really annoy me to spend $350 on a stroller just to have this issue (especially when I could get the Metro+ open box for a lot cheaper now). But the upgrades do seem maybe worth it to go for the Metro3

I have the metro + and the metro 3 and my friends have the deluxe. I like the newborn feature of the metro 3 better than just flat lying of the deluxe. It gives me more security with the newborn box (I don’t know what else to call it), than just with it lying down, although I think the deluxe can go flatter than the 3. There are some features the deluxe has that the 3 doesn’t, namely the ability to use ergo’s rider board, but if you are looking for something with nice suspension, maneuverability, and ease of open / close, I’d go with the metro 3. The material of the metro 3 is also quite soft, I think comparable if not better than the deluxe. Hope this helps!
