Thread: "Don’t be influenced to buy the mockingbird highchair"
I love my mockingbird so freaking much after using 2 others. Always note YMMV 🤷🏽♀️ ETA I just took the chair outside and hosed it off bc it was so dirty after a meal and was able to just wipe it off with a towel after. I am so obsessed with this chair. You’ll never catch me with a fabric chair ever again
Thread: "High chair recommendations other than Tripp Trapp"
I was deciding between the mockingbird and the ikea chair. I went with the mockingbird after adding up the cost of all the accessories I would have to buy for the ikea and considering how low the weight limit was and how soon I would need to buy a toddler chair/booster seat. The mockingbird was still more expensive, but we got most other baby things secondhand and this was our one splurge. It’s been an absolute dream to use, and was very nicely packaged and easy to assemble. After wiping food off the mockingbird three times a day I can’t imagine having to clean the fabric parts I see on regular high chairs. If you look at reviews on YouTube you can get a referral code for a free bowl/utensils/cup set.

The Mockingbird high chair is the one and I will die on that hill. Removable tray liner you can put in the dishwasher, wipeable silicone straps, converts to a child chair. No nooks and crannies for food to get into. It’s perfect.
Thread: "Don’t be influenced to buy the mockingbird highchair"
I returned my mockingbird and got a Tripp trapp instead.
Thread: "Need a high chair recommendation that is actually mess-proof. BLW mess is taking over my life."
I was in the same boat… the mess from BLW was giving me anxiety and I was dreading feeding times. I was gifted a high chair from my baby shower and it was a nightmare to clean. I recently purchased the mockingbird high chair and I LOVE it. It’s a game changer for me. It’s easy to clean, the tray is dishwasher safe and the straps just wipe clean. You will not regret that chair.

Love the mockingbird. Easy to clean and adjust and less expensive than the trip trap
Thread: "Don’t be influenced to buy the mockingbird highchair"
I’ve been using the ikea one for 6 months and we love it!!!! I never take off the tray for dishwashing so maybe I’m just gross??? I always wipe down and spray down after meals and it’s been doing the trick. My baby sits really well in it and I’m a huge fan.
Thread: "best high chair?"
No, you absolutely do not need the Tripp Trapp. It's not even the best high chair, in my opinon. As with all baby products, there are mixed reviews and different products work for different people. But for many, the Mockingbird high chair took everything wrong with the Tripp Trapp, and made it better. It's still expensive ($250). If you are looking for a basic high chair to figure out what you actually like, get an Ikea high chair and save your money. It's affordable, simple, and easy to clean. Just be sure to get a foot rest, as it is best for babies to have a foot rest when they eat.
Thread: "Unpopular opinion- I hate the Tripp trap "
I really like the Mockingbird high chair. One pro tip for any high chair - try pulling them out from behind instead of the front.
Thread: "Don’t be influenced to buy the mockingbird highchair"
I’m OBSESSED with my Mockingbird high chair. 10/10. I can see how the crotch bar could be a little tight on a big baby. My baby is just about one and fits okay, but she’s thin. It does take a little more finagling to get her long legs in, but not bad, and getting her out is quick and easy. The only other note I have is that I wish the footrest was adjustable once it’s converted to a toddler chair. It’s very adjustable in high chair mode, though. More than most other high chairs I’ve seen.
Thread: "Don’t be influenced to buy the mockingbird highchair"
I find the straps to be challenging in a way that is almost infuriating at times. They are so hard to adjust and I basically can’t adjust them when my baby is actually in there so it’s just like guessing and hoping I’ve adjusted them right.
Thread: "Unpopular opinion- I hate the Tripp trap "
Another vote for the mockingbird! We really love ours. Throw all the parts in the dishwasher or easily rinse. Footrest is easily adjustable. It all wipes down easy. Small footprint and lightweight. Really checks all the boxes for us!
Thread: "Cybex Lemo / Mockingbird / Tripp Trapp"
Ok everyone has the Tripp trapp (including lots of my friends!) but let me say I also love the Mockingbird. It is as easy to clean as advertised. I love the double layer tray, sometimes breakfast is chaos and I don’t get time to clean up before lunch and that saves me. I can’t comment on suctioning because I’m a weirdo mom who doesn’t use suction bowls, I just give my kid small amounts on the tray or pre loaded spoons. But overall we’re really happy with it.
Thread: "High Chair Recommendations please which do I want and which to avoid"
I looove the mockingbird! It also looks so sleek, doesn’t take up a lot of room and comes in so many colors to match your decor.
Thread: "Is the Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair actually worth it?"
We have the Mockingbird high chair and LOVE it. So easy and it converts to just a toddler seat when they’re older. Well worth it!!!! My friends have the Tripp Trapp and have already stopped using it with their 11 mo.
Thread: "High Chair Recommendations please which do I want and which to avoid"
It’s literally the BEST! I’m going to gift this to every family for the rest of time! It’s AMAZING!!!!
Thread: "Overwhelmed by all of the high chair options "
We got the mockingbird high chair specifically because of how easy it is to clean and its adjustable ergonomics and it was within our budget. 2 months in and we love it so far. I too was overwhelmed in our searches and then mockingbird seemed like the best middle ground between ergonomics and cleanability
Thread: "Mocking bird high chair or Trip Trapp ?"
We love our Mockingbird! The cleanup is so easy, and I love the magnetic buckle and the hooks for the straps on the back.
Thread: "High chair recommendations other than Tripp Trapp"
We got the mockingbird bc we have a tiny apartment and it had the smallest footprint after the Tripp Trapp. In addition to being fairly sleek looking and easy to clean, it actually fits in our space! Some of these other high chairs have a shockingly wide “stance”…
Thread: "Overwhelmed by all of the high chair options "
I bought the mockingbird high chair after having a cheapy one off amazon that was so hrs to clean. Mockingbird one is a bit pricey but not as bad as tripp trapp. The straps are silicone too which was a HUGE selling point to me. Ive been extremely happy with our purchase!
Thread: "Does anyone have and recommend mockingbird high chair ??"
We just got ours and liked it until my 8 month old arched his back in protest and the straps released. Thought it was the tray position and gave it another chance and it happened again, so working with support now. I’d suspect a recall is not not out of the question and would hold off for now
Thread: "I’m interested to see why the Ikea high chair gets much good ratings?"
I *hated* my Ikea one. Even after I bought all the expensive accessories for it. Ended up with a Bugaboo Giraffe and I'm obsessed with it, even 6 months later. It's very expensive though. Also we swapped out the Bugaboo harness for a silicone one. You want a silicone harness. I don't know why silicone harnesses aren't standard. I wanted the Mockingbird highchair which comes with a silicone harness, but they don't sell it in Australia 😕 The Mockingbird highchair honestly looks like the best highchair I've ever seen, and I've done a lot of research on highchairs lol. Still bitter about not being able to get that one... 😅 Edit because I forgot to mention: my son also hated the IKEA, so much so that he would barely eat anything. The first time he sat in the Bugaboo, was the first time he ate a meal without screaming. The silicone harness I got was the "Tripp Trapp Roka Harness". It's not supposed to fit the Bugaboo Giraffe but we made it work.
Thread: "High Chairs that DONT suck?"
I love my mockingbird. No fabric, even the harness straps are silicon. Completely wipeable and the straps can even go in dishwasher. Foot rest adjusts and then the little chair comes off so you can use it as a normal-ish chair at the table.
Thread: "Mocking bird high chair or Trip Trapp ?"
We love our mockingbird! Easy to clean. Looks nice in the kitchen. Baby is comfy. Checks all my boxes!
Thread: "High Chairs that DONT suck?"
Mockingbird. It is so easy to clean. I also love it doesn’t have legs that stick out so far - I am constantly tripping on the one at my mom’s house.
Thread: "best high chair?"
We have the mockingbird and I really like it! I’ll say that my baby has been on the smaller side and we kind of had a hard time using it when we first started solids bc there was too much room in the seat and she would kind of slouch- so we either rolled up towels to support her or fed her in the Upseat. She WAS sitting up at this time but now for super long periods. Also, an important tip I learned: purées carrots stain super bad-rubbing olive oil on the stain is the best way to get it out!
Thread: "Need a high chair recommendation that is actually mess-proof. BLW mess is taking over my life."
I have the mockingbird high chair too and love it. Easy to put together, easy to adjust, easy to remove the tray, easy to use straps…whole thing is easy to clean. I’ve also been using arm&hammer baking soda wipes to easily wipe away messes, even tomato sauce!
Thread: "High Chair Recommendations pls!!"
I have the mockingbird and love it. So easy to clean. My baby does sometimes lean to one side tho and I’m not sure if that’s user error, just how young he is/strength, or a design flaw. I still highly recommend it tho!
Thread: "Cybex Lemo / Mockingbird / Tripp Trapp"
I love the Mockingbird high chair! It is super easy to clean (no hidden cracks) and the straps can easily be thrown in the washing machine. The straps are honestly the nicest straps I have seen on a high chair (think like pleather) which makes it super easy to clean. My 6 month old has super chunky thighs and he fits perfectly. My three year old fits too in the high chair which is awesome. The Mockingbird tray can be adjusted into three different positions which makes me feel super comfortable doing BLW. Some of the other highchair trays don't adjust and I was always wary of the babies not getting enough support. It also is the perfect height for you to remove the tray and just scoot the baby to the table. I haven't tried suctioning on the tray, I just dump all the food on his tray at this point. I also liked that it could be converted into a chair if needed! I feel like its a piece that I will use even after the highchair stage! I bought mine off of GoodBuy Gear and it was a little cheaper!
Thread: "Mockingbird high chair review "
I have worked in childcare for 24 years and Mockingbird is the best highchair I have ever used. Like most baby products it is not perfect and for me there are two cons and one is a deal breaker for BLW families. First the backrest is not flush because the safety straps are attached to a big plastic plate that protrudes into the seat at the spine. I can see some children finding this uncomfortable but it's not a deal breaker for me. The bigger con is the size and shape of the foot rest. It is shallow in its depth and slants downward. My 6 mth old child's feet can't rest entirely onto the footrest. Only her heels touch it at the very edge. The front half of her foot is dangling off the footrest as it is not deep enough to go under her entire foot. This is a safety issue with BLW as they need to have their feet planted firmly on a footrest for proper posture and choking prevention. If Mockingbird were to extend the footrest farther out a bit more and re-release the high chair (with the option for older models to get a replacement footrest) I would consider it the perfect highchair.
Thread: "Thoughts on Stokke Tripp Trapp vs the Mockingbird high chair?"
I actually know someone who works at Mockingbird, so I got to test this high chair before it launched. I’d been using the Stokke Tripp Trapp with my 1.5 y/o up til then, so I was able to compare them directly, and I have to say, I liked the Mockingbird SO much better. The major differences that stood out to me were: * the tray is a great size and can be adjusted in and out, so I could move it closer to my daughter, which meant less food getting through to the seat * they have a tray liner on top of the tray that pops right off for easy cleaning. And the tray’s surface is smooth with none of those indents that are hard to clean on the Stokke (and my mushie suction plate stuck much better to Mockingbird’s tray) * the seat was so easy to clean since there’s no fabric and it’s smooth, so i could just wipe food off quickly * the silicone straps are genius. My Stokke straps have built up so much food on them and gotten disgusting, but the mockingbird ones wipe totally clean and seemed like they’d last so much better over time (I only used the high chair for a week, so can’t say how well the straps will actually hold up over years and years, but i felt like they’d last so much better than my Stokke ones) * I could adjust the height of the footrest without needing tools (you just loosen a little knob and can slide the footrest up and down). Same with the high chair part - my daughter wasn’t ready to sit in the chair without it yet, but I tested removing it to see how it looked as a regular dining chair, and converting it was so easy (you literally just push a tab and pull up on the seat, and it comes right off). The only thing I'm upset about is now I hate the Tripp trapp high chair I have 🙃... Hope that was helpful, though, would def recommend waiting for the mockingbird if you can!
Thread: "High chair recommendations other than Tripp Trapp"
Another Mockingbird fan - its so easy to clean, move around, and doesnt take up a ton of space. Highly recommend!
Thread: "High Chair: Mockingbird or Tripp Trapp?"
I can’t believe you haven’t gotten a single comment on this. I was just doing a google search to also decide between these two and your post came up. So far the main difference between the two seems to be that the Mockingbird is easier to clean. I’m leaning towards the Mockingbird, however one of the cons I’ve read is that smaller babies are unable to sit in a 90-90-90 position, which is recommended. I feel like I’m still going to go for it. I like the look, price is good, and I’m all for something easy to clean!
Thread: "Mockingbird high chair review "
How old is your baby now? Any updates on how it has been going so far? Still liking it? I am pretty close to buying this one, so any new updates would be very helpful!
Thread: "Mocking bird high chair or Trip Trapp ?"
I think it just depends on the individual. I have the Mockingbird and love it - would never want anything different. 🤷🏼♀️ It seems comfortable for my chunky 10 month old, and like it will grow with her well. It's super easy to clean, I love the silicone straps and tray liner, and I like the design of the legs (not too big of a footprint, and I've never tripped on it). The only thing I wish was different was that it folded so it was easier to travel with.
Thread: "Mockingbird or Abiie Beyond high chair?"
The mockingbird is brand new so not sure how many reviews you’ll get. We love the abiie!
Thread: "Don’t be influenced to buy the mockingbird highchair"
I have a silicone tray cover so I just take that off to rinse it, and never have to bother with the tray! With accessories it isn’t super cheap, but still I love it
Thread: "IKEA Antilop High Chair or Mockingbird High Chair"
Mockingbird. Developmentally from an ergonomic standpoint it is much much better than any IKEA highchair. It is also very easy to clean and is a much better investment than antilop in terms of length of usage and quality. I’ve been working in the baby gear industry for over 20 years and it is one of my favorite high chairs on the market. Full stop lol.
Thread: "Tripp Trapp or IKEA Antilop?"
Neither, get the mockingbird high chair!
Thread: "High Chair Recommendations please which do I want and which to avoid"
I thought the trip trap was so ugly! I got the mockingbird which is a little less ugly but easy in and out and can easily adjust foot support (which you need! Not all have this)
Thread: "High Chair Recommendations please which do I want and which to avoid"
My friend recently switched to the Mockingbird for her 1 year old because it was so easy to clean. Not sure about how suitable it is for a baby that little though
Thread: "best high chair recommendations - completely overwhelmed"
Came here to vouch for this. Mealtimes are a huge pain point in my house. We originally had a Chicco Polly but I didn’t love his posture in it, then we clipped the travel high chair to our table for a few months but it got disgusting fast when we let him self feed In the mockingbird we feel much better about his posture and cleaning it is a breeze
Thread: "Unpopular opinion- I hate the Tripp trap "
Mockingbird high chair is great! Easy to clean with removable tray. Easy to adjust. Silicone straps with magnetic lock. Got rid of our Tripp trap for it.
Thread: "Cybex Lemo / Mockingbird / Tripp Trapp"
I bought Mockingbird, I wanted it to work for us as it’s super easy to clean. But leg space is horrible for this one and it’s so narrow. we struggled to place the baby or to take out. It didn’t feel confident with it. I ordered Abiiee cheaper version of tripp trap and it’s on sale. Have to see how that works for my baby.
Thread: "ABIIE, STOKKE TRIPP TRAPP, OR MOCKINGBIRD HIGHCHAIR?"
We have the mockingbird and we love it! It’s so easy to clean and the removable tray is dishwasher friendly. Also the straps/buckle is really easy to put on. I’d recommend it for sure!
Thread: "High Chair Recommendations please which do I want and which to avoid"
I have the mockingbird and we love it. My LO is almost 6 months and in the 45 percentile ish for height and weight. Her feet just hit the footrest, and she seems very comfortable in it!
Thread: "Mocking bird high chair or Trip Trapp ?"
I hated the Tripp trapp, I sold it and got the mockingbird.
Thread: "High Chair Recommendations "
Love the Mockingbird one for the small footprint and easy clean. Just don’t get the Lalo, overpriced and overhyped
Thread: "Is the Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair actually worth it?"
I’ve been using this and love it, too! My daughter did turn it orange with her carrots though
Thread: "Don’t be influenced to buy the mockingbird highchair"
Yes this is like the Tripp trapp but cheaper! Still expensive but my baby is 6 months and I love it so far.
