I had the same issue with the maxi cosi minla. I used a little floor chair for around two months https://www.mamasandpapas.com/products/baby-bud-pebble-grey-play-tray-bundle-3234l7500 which helped a lot. If you don't have something similar to use, you can roll up towels and use them to prop baby up. I taped a tissue box onto the footrest to help there too. Baby will fit comfortably in the highchair before you know it!

We have the Stokke one but never had the infant insert. We started on a maxi cosy one, it was a nightmare to wash after each meal! We are still using the Stokke at 3.5, we all like it + bonus adults can sit on it too as an extra chair.

I am OBSESSED with my maxi Cosi minla . We've used it since day one to keep baby off the floor (it reclines flat) and it is a seamless transition to use it with my toddler niece and nephew, and my six month old. This is my fourth kid and I wish it had been around for the others. Well worth the investment.

Thread: "Tripp Trapp or IKEA Antilop?"

Just curious, why are Reddit and other social media's obsessed with these two high chairs? Are they just the latest trend? There are so many high chairs on the market. I have a wonderful Maxi Cosi one but no one ever talks about the other brands. Someone tell me?

We bought the maxi cosi minla and massively regret it! My baby is big 99th percentile for height and 95th for weight, he’s already 11kg so I bought the MC one which goes up to 60kg so I didn’t have to worry but it’s a nightmare. It’s material so terrible to clean, tray holds babies legs open and it’s uncomfortable and you can’t have them sitting straight up in it, it I could go back in time I’d get the ikea one.

If you want something from newborn and up then I would recommend the maxi cosi Minla. I've been using it and it's easy to clean - can remove the whole soft fabric cover to clean or its very easy to spot clean. I waited until the mid year sale at baby bunting to get it just before bubs was born last year. Saved alot doing that. But if you don't need something from newborn then the maxi cosi moa is great and is far cheaper.

I have this one too. I will say I probably wouldn’t buy a fabric high chair again because we are constantly having to strip it down and throw it in the wash. However, I called their customer service to see if I could buy an extra chair pad, and they sent it for free which I was really impressed with. Also, the tray comes off so easily I can do it with one hand.

I got the Maxi Cosi 6 in 1 Minla high chair. I live in a small 1 bedroom and in between meals I fold it up and tuck it over to the side. It's worked out really well so far and it's going to last a long long time.

My baby loves the Chicco pocket snack, we have a big maxi cosi minla which is basically a decoration and also one that mounts in the counter. Pocket snack attaches to chair and she eats from table with us rather than being slightly away due to size of chair

Us too! Maxi Cosi Minla! Have used it from birth to now 7 months and glad it will grow with him to toddler-hood. The cover and infant insert wash so well! It’s so easy to clean. It folds up nicely to slide away. I can’t say enough good things, I’m so happy with it. Aesthetically it is lovely too.

Also hated our maxi cosi Minla!! It still annoys me - it was one of the only things I really “splashed out on” and used gift vouchers for it. Wish we’d just got the ikea one or the Tripp trap/equivalent!

If you have the funds, get the stokke Tripp trapp. I bought a maxi cosi Minla, hated it. Got an IKEA antilop - love it (with foot rest) but now kiddo is 18 months old I wish I had just got the stokke from the off - I look on Facebook marketplace every day haha trying to snag one.

I was just about to recommend the Moa. It's a solid high chair that's served us well so far. Will probably be converting it to the booster seat soon, then the table and stool. Only drawback is that it's not compatible with the Catchy, but that's not a huge deal.

I’m going to be honest. Get the Tripp Trapp. Buy once cry once. You may be able to find a better deal secondhand, but I promise it’s worth the investment. Don’t be like us. We have similar needs as you, and went through three high chairs (ikea, maxi cosi minla — awful DO NOT GET, returned so fast — and upseat) before we surrendered. We should have done it sooner. It’s so easy to clean, comfy for baby, tucks under the table, no more stubbed toes or tripping over legs. Worth it.

Thread: "Help me choose high chair"

I had the Maxi Cosi Minla, and while it is super easy to use, putting the cover in the wash and then making sure it's dry and put back on the chair in time for the next meal multiple times a week was a pain in the butt. I sold it and bought the Peg Perego Siesta second hand. It is much easier to clean and it doesn't slide all over the place on my hardwood floor when the wheels are locked like the Maxi Cosi.

Got our Tripp trapp on fb for £35 so even with all the attachments only spent about £100, you can get knock off bits on AliExpress that all fit. Best baby thing we’ve bought and we will keep long after our babies are little

Agreed ! It feels flimsy and the buckle is so hard to unclamp! Still trying to find a better high chair .

Thread: "Is the Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair actually worth it?"

Literally none of it is "worth it". It's a capitalist play to make us feel like we need all this for our kids. I bought a good Maxi Cosi high chair, not a crazy price like Stokke but still. Guess what? My daughter barely ever sat in it 😆. Keep things super simple and buy consignment, ask to borrow your friends things. Kids don't HAVE to be expensive, it's a choice!
