- Many parents report improved sleep
Cons (−)
- Adjusting to one arm out can be tricky for some
- Some babies may take time to get used to it
Why parents like it

Common complaints
Most parents have no complaints, though a few mention the difficulty of adjusting to the one-arm-out feature. A small number of parents note that the transition can take some time for their babies to get used to.
Parents who want a smooth transition for babies who prefer sleeping with their arms up. The tradeoff is that some babies may take time to adjust to the one-arm-out feature.

Love to dream swaddles were best for us, so easy to use and baby loved them! They also do transition swaddles with zip off arms for when they start rolling
Thread: "Almost 3m old is breaking out of swaddle. Suggestions??? New swaddle? Give him his arms?"
I have my 3 month old in the Love to Dream Transition swaddles. They’re keeping is arms mostly contained while he’s still not rolling but can zip off when he does.

We bought the love to dream when we learned our baby preferred to sleep with her arms up. We loved it! We used the transition one too once she started showing signs of rolling. They admittedly look hilarious, though 😂. I have also heard good things about the Halo swaddle sleep sack. It does have Velcro, but because you can access the bottom with a zipper, you shouldn’t have to deal with the Velcro for late night diaper changes.

Yes, any rolling means swaddles get dropped asap. No exceptions. You can not safely do a single arm transition anymore. That ship sailed when she rolled.

Just wanted to add love to dream sell transition swaddles where you can swap the arms to sleeves which helps babies get used to sleep sacks. They also sell a line with legs so they can move about in them when they start crawling.

I used the Love to Dream transition swaddle in which you can zip open the arms area. If I recall correctly the transition swaddles are for 3 months+. I felt this was safe. By the time it gets chilly your baby might be able to wear it. When my baby was weeks old I was already using Love To Dream but we weren’t in c-curl position. She was probably a foot away from me (we had a floor bed with a lot of space) so she had room to move without any obstructions. The swaddles were soft and stretchy enough that she’s able to suck on her fists or rub her face with her arms.

So it's a bit too late for you, but I had bought the LTD transition swaddle and had one arm out, and then both arms out. This was before any full rolls, just the occasional rock. At this point, just transition to a sleeping bag, etc. I just bought the woolino after being bombarded by people who rave about it.

I love the love to dream! I just ordered their transition swaddle for when they can’t be swaddled anymore.

this is exactly what our lil guy went through! he flips on his side every time he sleeps. he’s only 3wo so it’s not deliberate flipping but a reflex. i asked our doc and he said side sleeping is safest if they can have their arms out. cause of this, we bought transition swaddles ( https://a.co/d/arXqG3j ). transitioned from the LTD swaddles to these and started with his arms in, then opened one arm so he had his hand/wrist out.. in a few days we had him comfortably sleeping with both arms out & it gave me a much better peace of mind. i was finally able to sleep when he sleeps, lol

The cuff they mention i think is a specific version of the swaddle they have with zip off arms. We never got that one but we transitioned to this one after the love to dream and baby still slept great in it while being safe to roll in: [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C6FWJXGT?psc=1&ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_product\_details](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C6FWJXGT?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) We're still using it at 7.5 months and its been tricky to transition to hands out but she's slowly getting there! We usually start with the hands in or one hand out and now she's learned how to get both hands out herself so sometimes that will wake her up and we have to go put them back in but it depends on the day. I want to get her fully transitioned soon but she really sleeps so well with her arms up like a cactus and has since like 2 weeks old lol.
Thread: "How do people transition their babies out of a swaddle?"
We switched from Velcro swaddles to love to dream transitional swaddles. So arms down to arms up to arms free. I like the love to dream because the torso is still snug so there’s some pressure feedback and the neck is small so it can’t ride up.

We used this system because our girl loved the Love to Dream with her arms up - couldn’t stand being swaddled with her arms by her sides. We would zip off one arm after she was asleep, do that for a few nights, then put the sleeve back on and do the same for the other side. Eventually we zipped off both arms and it’s no big deal for her. The issue was her moving her arms around too much and waking herself up! We are in the four month sleep regression right now, but the arm-less swaddle is the least of our issues 😂
