Thread: "When buying a swaddle, what did you prioritize the most?"
I bought/registered for so many different types of swaddles. Only for my baby to HATE all of them and hated to be swaddled in the first place. By night 2 she went in a sleep sack and has been in one ever since. She is in the Love to Dream sleep sack. Game changer!

Just wanted to add that this product is still a swaddle and needs to be discontinued once baby is showing signs of rolling as it constricts arm use and also has mild chest compression. It is the cutest thing when they are asleep in it though!

Love to dream sacks have been great!

Piggybacking off of this post to say: same @georgestarr ! We’re in Australia too but we used the [Love To Dream](https://lovetodream.com.au/products/swaddle-up-warm-2-5-tog-stripe-grey.html) sleep sack as our little one was just more settled with her arms up.
Thread: "Is the love to dream swaddle safe?"
Swaddles aren’t supposed to be used during cosleeping because they are a suffocation risk, not necessarily an overheating risk (though possible). Even if your baby is very young, sometimes they can manage to have weird reflexes and flip themselves onto their side or tummy, and since they have minimal neck strength to clear the space around their airway, it’s not worth risking. My newborn also woke himself up with his arms while in his bassinet but not while cosleeping, so it might be a non issue for you. That said, the reflex goes away in time. You could also try chest sleeping which pretty much eliminates that arm reflex and allows you both to sleep if it’s set up safely. Check out @cosleepy on IG for how to chest sleep safely. For keeping baby warm, we use a sleep sack for our baby while cosleeping. They have all levels of TOG. It’s winter for us right now so baby is in a 2.5 TOG. In Summer we use a .5 TOG and in Spring/Fall we use a 1 TOG. But sleep sacks don’t have the same risk as swaddles since their arms are free! We have Kyte Baby brand but tons of brands carry them. Good luck!

You want a swaddle sleep sack like the love to dream. Be aware not all babies like to be swaddled though! For example the love to dream swaddle. You don't want to be faffing with a muslin swaddle in the middle of the night although we do tend to use them during the day Proper sleep sacks are better for when they start to roll and need to be measured properly to make sure they don't ride up as that can cause risk of sids We're using a 1tog in this weather but also have a 0.2tog for when it's a particularly hot night. There are loads of charts online to work out what you need based on the room temperature
Thread: "Sleep sac recommendations for a 4 month old that just discovered rolling over? "
We did the love to dream sack where the wings unzip off when we first stopped swaddling. Now we use the Woolino and he loves it. It’s expensive but it helps regulate body temp and it fits them until they’re 2 years old. The first 2 weeks when he first discovered rolling and couldn’t be in a swaddle anymore were a little rough. He kept rolling around and getting stuck on his stomach and we’d have to rescue him. But it’s gotten better and he actually figured out he prefers to sleep on his side in the shape of an L lol.

Seconding this! My baby LOVES her love to dream sleep sack and I loved that they also have transitional ones for when bb started to roll. We just zipped off the sleeps and now she uses it as a regular sleep sack. High quality too and I’ve found doesn’t warp.

We loved the love to dream sleep sacks and used them until we really couldn't fit her in anymore lol
Thread: "Is it safe to use ANY swaddle types at all after baby starts rolling?"
There's a brand call "Love to Dream" they have a range of sleep bags where the arm "corners" are removable for when they start to roll. All the sleep bags my wife and I have used with both our boys once they started to roll either had full length sleeves or no sleeves.
Thread: "Best transition swaddle when 3 month baby is starting to roll"
We absolutely love the SwaddleDesigns Transitional Swaddle Sack. Our baby had been using the Love To Dream Sleep Sack every night since coming home from the hospital but started showing signs of rolling a little before 3 months so we couldn't keep him in it anymore. We ordered several different brands of sleep sacks on Amazon and the SwaddleDesigns transition swaddle has been a hit since the first night of him wearing it. It did take 2 or 3 nights for him to adjust, instead of sleeping the usual stretches of 6 hrs in the night, with one middle of the night waking, he woke up twice during those initial nights. Probably because this sleep sack is looser than the Love to Dream. After those first few nights, he has slept great in it and has transitioned back to longer sleep stretches. He even out grew his startle reflex using this sleep sack, since the purchase of our first, we purchased 2 more to be prepared. We would highly recommend SwaddleDesigns swaddle sack to any parent, especially one transitioning their baby from the Love To Dream. We will definitely keep ours for the next baby.
Thread: "How do people transition their babies out of a swaddle?"
We did try love to dream a few weeks ago, before trying one arm out of the Ollie, and we really struggled to lay her down without triggering a startle. But she changes so much each week, we should try it again!
Thread: "Well the scariest moment of my life happened and now we can't swaddle arms in"
We were lucky. Ende duo with both of our love to dream sleep sacks in the wash one night, so tried an arms out one. Baby loved it and we've never gone back. She's almost 11 months and sleeps in all sorts of positions. I don't miss the anxiety from early days, though I do still sometimes wake up and check she's breathing. 😂

Our LO was the same. Born with her hands always up, and could Houdini out of the tightest swaddle where they were confined. We love this swaddle. Doctors even saw her in it at the hospital and liked it for her. Once she rolled at around 3 months we switched her to the sleep sack. Love to dream makes this style too so it was an easy transition for her. For what it’s worth, our lady was an active sleeper and she didn’t side sleep until she could roll.
Thread: "Best Velcro swaddle?"
Agreed! This is the only sack our little Houdini hasn’t escaped from yet.
Thread: "Love to dream swaddle"
I preferred the love to dream with zipper arms! Our baby hated all things swaddle and pacifiers so we just let him have his arms out from the beginning. We’re 5.5 months and still using the love to dream (without arms) as his sleep sack
