Common complaints
Most parents have no complaints, though a few mention that the design is quite basic and lacks some aesthetic appeal compared to pricier models. A small number of parents also noted that assembly could be a bit challenging.

Thread: "Thoughts on IKEA cribs?"
I bought the Gulliver crib from IKEA and it's great. It's well made, easy to put together, and will convert to a day bed once my baby gets older and needs a "big boy bed." One piece of advice; once assembled, it can't fit through the door. Make sure you put it together in the room you want it to be in.

All cribs sold pass the safety standards! We bought one from IKEA and one from West Coast Kids, preferred our IKEA one honestly and it was cheaper! We got the Gulliver!
Thread: "To IKEA or not to IKEA?? (cribs)"
Well, I am from Sweden and thus biased. But we've had only great experiences with our white IKEA Gulliver bed. We actually took off one of the sides and bolted it to our adult IKEA bed for a hacked- co-sleeper. Perfect fit. And the poop-stains just came right off.

I have the Gulliver as well. Very high safety rating. Although I dislike ikea mattresses and bought a mattess from Babies R Us instead. Ikea mattresses are not very firm.

oh, thanks for the heads up there!

We just got the IKEA Gullivar crib in white for $159.

Unlike chairs/etc, cribs have to meet very strict safety guidelines. They’re very safe. We have the Gulliver with our first baby and it was super sturdy, zero issues with it.

Yup! We have the Gulliver! Almost 4 years, three moves and a large toddler and it is still going strong. We are using it for this next baby as well.
Thread: "IKEA Sniglar Crib"
It's a solid crib. IKEA testing for physical safety is fantastic- I would put them in the top 5 for brands I trust for infant products in general. Their risk & compliance manager in Sweden is a really lovely guy who loves to brag on their testing processes (rightfully so). He is really active with the international consumer product health and safety organization (me too)- and very transparent about all things IKEA. He's one of the reasons IKEA now makes you enter your information at the register when you purchase things like dresserrs, bookshelves, and other pieces of furniture that could injure you (especially your children) to ensure that you know that anchoring the product to the wall is critical for safe use of the product. We had a single for my oldest and would be using it still for my little surprise, gave it to a cousin and her little is still in her. We have a Gulliver this time (passed to us from another cousin). If the crib is assembled correctly, you won't be able to wiggle a thing. The for model may have been assembled incorrectly, or just beaten beyond normal use by however many customers have gone through the store you were in.

I have 2 ikea Gullivar cribs and they have both been great, they don’t seem flimsy or rickety, one is 2 years old and the other is slightly older and they both still seem fine.

I'm guessing OP is referring to this one: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/gulliver-crib-white-80248525/ Ikea also has the Sniglar crib for $80!

We got the IKEA Gulliver in white for $99
Thread: "Crib recommendation?"
I was passed down an ikea crib and it’s great! My recommendation is to make sure it’s safe (aka if used from a trusted source) but also not to spend a ton of money on something you won’t use forever! I so so glad mine was free. It’s the Gulliver.
Thread: "Thoughts on IKEA cribs?"
Did it fit? I thought Ikea crib dimensions were a little shorter than standard crib mattresses.

Have ikea crib, on second child using it, still going strong. Would recommend. And second the door problem. Only complaint.
Thread: "best convertible crib how do you even choose one as a first time parent?"
I got an Ikea one too, I got the Gulliver! It has the adjustable mattress height as well as a removable side for the toddler years. Never looked back
