Not an answer to your question, but the [Sniglar crib from Ikea](https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/sniglar-crib-beech-50248541/) is wonderful! And it actually ships within a reasonable time.

Ikea crib isn’t that good, don’t buy it! Just kidding… it’s out of stock constantly and I want to grab it so bad!!
Thread: "Crib: splurge or save?"
I have an IKEA sniglar crib that cost either $70 or $80 back in 2021. It's solid wood and looks 100% new after 2.5 years of use. I'm going to use it for my second baby later this year. I am very happy with the purchase and absolutely didn't need a more expensive crib.
Thread: "Incredibly dumb question - are the $800+ cribs worth it?"
I was passed down an ikea crib by someone. It's pretty good, zero complains. And I heard ikea has some less VOC policy for materials and paints that they use. Could be an option for you
Thread: "Crib: splurge or save?"
IKEA’s cheapest crib is solid wood and unpainted. It meets European safety standards. And you won’t feel bad if it gets covered in teeth marks
Thread: "[ON] FTM and debating between getting the Babyletto yuzu 8-in-1 crib or going the IKEA crib route."
Before you count on wheeling it from room to room, measure your door frames! Our crib doesn't fit through the door frame when it's assembled.
Thread: "Crib safety-non toxic?"
I don’t know about Delta but if you want an alternative, I went with the IKEA Sniglar which is mostly just unfinished wood. IKEA also adheres to European safety standards which are high.

Basically I assembled it three-sided as the toddler bed but without the extra flat connecting piece of wood (do you know the piece I mean?). Then flip the whole thing upside down. And use that flat connecting piece underneath the table to stabilize the two “legs.” You do have to make new drill holes to do this part. But the table could technically be turned back into a crib if needed. Lastly, I cut plywood to lay over top which they have colored all over but it’s just plywood. I couldn’t upload a second pic but I put an ikea pegboard on one side to hold markers and whatnot. https://preview.redd.it/pwv6h3n51wkf1.png?width=2320&format=png&auto=webp&s=1ccc64259e0cc66d8c54ae47ac0d40da5daab2ff

IKEA Sniglar. You can paint it whatever colour you want. $100.
Thread: "Incredibly dumb question - are the $800+ cribs worth it?"
Seconding the [IKEA crib](https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/sniglar-crib-beech-50248541/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=surfaces&utm_campaign=shopping_feed&utm_content=free_google_shopping_clicks_Children%27s_IKEA&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=10697481778&gbraid=0AAAAAD27g7w3Fg0GW5I_HAvc0uLbPyZwr&gclid=CjwKCAjwprjDBhBTEiwA1m1d0qkcIbfTgWnSuHkxWnuQA_Bogg7kWN5ALTpaSHmI17FVHAeTqsNwjhoCQaEQAvD_BwE)! It's solid wood, has two height levels, and converts to a toddler bed. I used it for my first baby and as soon as he grew out of it as a toddler bed, I set it back up as a crib for my new baby on the way. Just make sure to save the parts if you convert it! $119. You can't beat that!
Thread: "IKEA Sniglar Crib"
Well, it’s a floor model. Three times the cost sounds insane for anything. But I have limited budget and my IKEA crib has kept both my babies safe all night for 4+ years. If you have the money and the peace of mind is important, I say do it. I probably would consider it if we weren’t super budget focused.
Thread: "What brand of cribs is cheap/affordable but good?"
This is what I have. Meets European safety standards. It’s solid wood and no paint so I am less worried if he gnaws on the rails than if it had paint or stain it was MDF.
Thread: "IKEA crib"
I have the IKEA crib. Not sure where you are located, but all cribs sold in the US have to meet minimum safety standards. Consumer Reports recommends it, with the safety caveat that it is slightly longer and narrower than other cribs, so safest when paired with an IKEA mattress. It doesn’t have as many levels as some other cribs (I think only two), but that didn’t bother us because as soon as baby started showing signs of rolling I wanted her on the lowest level. We bought and IKEA mattress to go into it and have not had any issues with 10 months of daily use. When baby’s not in it, I actually use the rail as a standing barre for workouts and it’s quite stable!
Thread: "Non-toxic Cribs"
The most basic, $80 ikea crib is made of unfinished beechwood
Thread: "Best Crib Recommendations [ON]"
We have the IKEA Sniglar crib and I love it. It’s low profile, unpainted wood so it’s natural/no chemicals or off gassing, it has adjustable height and converts to a toddler bed. It’s also very affordable.
Thread: "Cot Recommendations - January 2025"
IKEA Sniglar – cheap, plain, meets international safety standards, and converts to a toddler bed with no additional pieces.
Thread: "IKEA Sniglar Crib"
Love our ikea sniglar crib. Got it second hand and it’s still super sturdy
Thread: "IKEA crib"
This! And actually because Ikea sells in the eu and they have much stricter saftey standards than the us, ikea cribs are some of if not the safest cribs you can buy. We have had our sniglar for almost 3 years, moved it several times and will soon put a second baby in it.
Thread: "Thoughts on IKEA cribs?"
I nanny for a family that had an IKEA crib as their extra crib. (It's a big house, one crib upstairs, one downstairs). It actually outlasted the $1800 designer crib they used in the baby's room, despite getting nearly as much use as the main crib. Their second child used it as an extra crib too. They're not fancy, but they're sturdy!
Thread: "best convertible crib how do you even choose one as a first time parent?"
I did so much research and knew I was overthinking it. I eventually just got an Ikea mattress and crib (sniglar). It was one of the cheapest options and it's been great! I like the simple asthetic of it too
Thread: "I see many recommendation for IKEA cribs. As someone who has poor experience with IKEA quality, should I reconsider? Is the crib better than standard IKEA quality?"
I am admittedly an IKEA junkie, I love just so much of their stuff and yes I do enjoy putting it together #diynerd I will say there is often a HUGE difference in quality between their solid wood items and composite wood. Anything I get thats solid wood is a beast. The sniglar is solid wood. Personally, im going for the kura bc we'll have a floor bed setup.
Thread: "Should’ve known I couldn’t afford pottery barn lol"
IKEA crib is great and dirt cheap. Jenny Lind style DaVinci mini crib is also great, and maybe a little closer to this style — we have both because our bedroom is TINY and we needed a mini crib to fit in there until kiddo is big enough to sleep in her own room. We’re planning on having more than one baby if possible, so hopefully that will mitigate the cost a bit.
Thread: "Crib: splurge or save?"
Seconding the Sniglar! I am sad to report it’s $119 now but still an awesome deal.
Thread: "IKEA crib"
We have the sniglar and a Newton mattress. I would rather pay more for a mattress than a crib. I also liked that it is all wood so I don’t have to worry about the baby ingesting paint.
Thread: "Where did you get your crib?"
I have and love the Ikea Sniglar. Unpainted/untreated wood, beautiful and was only $80.
Thread: "Non-toxic Cribs"
Agreed, Amish use whatever the hell is cheapest just like any other place, and charge out the ass because it’s “Amish” and you have the downside of nothing they make being safe sleep certified. I agree with top comment, I wanted the ikea sniglar for this reason, but it’s been back ordered since I was like 16 weeks.
Thread: "What brand of cribs is cheap/affordable but good?"
IKEA has high quality cribs for not too much money!
Thread: "IKEA Sniglar Crib"
We have the sniglar and like others have said, it's sturdy! No concerns about it being rickety. And I'm really happy I went with an unpainted crib now that we're at the crib-gnawing stage!
Thread: "[ON] FTM and debating between getting the Babyletto yuzu 8-in-1 crib or going the IKEA crib route."
Got an ikea crib so I went the inexpensive route, but I had a babyletto crib on my mind. So happy with my decision. The crib looks absolutely fine and she’s been using it since 4 mo or so (16 mo now) and we’ve had no issues with it at all. My MIL offered to pay for the mattress, so we went with a pricier mattress than crib!
Thread: "Why do people spend $500+ on baby cribs?"
As someone who almost splurged but didn’t, I can say that it was all aesthetics for me. I wanted green guard certified and everything, but also wanted it to be designer-level pretty. In the end I got an $80 IKEA Snigler and couldn’t be happier. Sturdy, safe, and looks great within an otherwise well-decorated room. And if baby chews on it I don’t have to worry about paint peeling off or my pricey purchase getting ruined.
Thread: "I see many recommendation for IKEA cribs. As someone who has poor experience with IKEA quality, should I reconsider? Is the crib better than standard IKEA quality?"
All cribs have to meet a specific safety standard. We had decided on the sniglar crib after viewing it in-store due to its construction and materials. Unfortunately, it was never in stock or available for delivery in our area. We went with another brand as we are running out of time!
Thread: "Class action - pottery barn (and related companies?)"
Seconding this! I was on a crunchy kick when I was pregnant so Brain Health from Birth recommended it since it’s unfinished wood. But baby got to the “chewing on the crib” milestone pretty fast and it’s kinda hard to take away his crib so definitely worth getting if you’re slightly anxious about what goes in baby’s mouth.
Thread: "Crib: splurge or save?"
We got the cheap ikea sniglar crib which is solid wood and about $100. It’s held up for my daughter whose now using it as a toddler bed. Only downside is it doesn’t have the highest 3rd level like some cribs do, didn’t bother me but worth mentioning if it’s a dealbreaker for you. It’s basic looking and unpainted but I love that I was able to use beeswax to finish it.
Thread: "Class action - pottery barn (and related companies?)"
Ugh, I wanted this so bad when I needed a crib, and it wasn't available at all, due to post Covid supply stuff. I ended up getting the Myllra. The pregnancy hormones made me think all other cribs were the ugliest thing ever. I can't explain it. All cribs besides Sniglar and Myllra were just heinous. Now I see them, and I'm like...these are fine?
Thread: "Crib recommendations which doesn’t put a big hole in the pocket? Your crib mattress reccos as well? Thank you"
I personally have the sniglar from ikea and their mattress. Love how they look and how reasonably priced they are. You can also check Facebook marketplace for a used crib. I see a ton around $100 in the GTA!
Thread: "Crib recommendations which doesn’t put a big hole in the pocket? Your crib mattress reccos as well? Thank you"
We loved the simple natural birch wood IKEA crib! Looks beautiful in the nursery and is very sturdy. I like that it’s not stained or coated. Very simple and pretty. We got their mattress and crib sheets as well. Rebought it all for a second babe as our toddler was still happy in his crib.
Thread: "To IKEA or not to IKEA?? (cribs)"
Ah I just took an IKEA trip on Sunday. You can make an account online or on the app and make a "list" of things you like. Its convenient to use as reference as you walk through the store. [We got this one for $120](http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20248571/) You can get a [crib liner like this one](https://www.amazon.com/BreathableBaby-Breathable-Mesh-Liner-White/dp/B0013FGWD0/ref=sr_1_2_s_it?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1486535266&sr=1-2&keywords=crib%2Bbumper&th=1) to prevent things from going in between the cracks, including limbs. I plan on using it for as long as I can. Id really rather pay $120 and see how long it'll hold up for rather than a $500 one to start. I've owned white furniture before and never will again. Sometimes the paint turns yellow, you can see the dirt collect on it, and if it scratches its so noticeable. But that's just me. You can always repaint it later on. The best advice: get a $1 cinnamon roll on your way out! :P
Thread: "Incredibly dumb question - are the $800+ cribs worth it?"
Same. The IKEA crib I got from my sister is about to be used for it's 5th baby. Still sturdy and strong.
Thread: "Thoughts on IKEA cribs?"
All cribs sold in the US have to meet the same safety standards, so from that side of things, an IKEA crib should work just as well as one from a fancy furniture store. Personally, I'm all for staying low-cost on these sorts of things. They only get used for a couple of years. I'm not big on shelling out thousands of dollars on furniture for babies or small children. They have a way of destroying things.
Thread: "Crib: splurge or save?"
I’m also a big sniglar fan. Its solid wood, looks nice, does the job. All other cribs honestly seem like a ripoff compared to the sniglar.
Thread: "What brand of cribs is cheap/affordable but good?"
This is what we have too! Great value. As for the commenter talking about pacifiers falling through the slats, every crib has that problem. (The solution is putting a few pacifiers in the crib.)
Thread: "What is the best convertible crib for first time parents?"
We went with an Ikea Sniglar that happened to be on sale at the time for like $80. No bells and whistles but it worked great for our older son as both a crib and a toddler bed and we recently converted it back into a crib for baby #2.
Thread: "Crib recommendation?"
I really wanted a fancy one so I got the Babyletto one. However, my parents have the white ikea one and honestly it’s exactly the same. I wish I didn’t spend the money on a Babyletto one. The only difference in cribs I noticed is the style but not functionality or comfort. The ikea mattress is not the best from what I hear though. I got one from Sealy I think
Thread: "Best place to buy an affordable crib? [On]"
I got this crib! Any regular crib/toddler bed mattress will fit!
Thread: "Thoughts on IKEA cribs?"
We didn't get one, but I know one of the Ikea cribs regularly gets "best buy" designation from consumer reports, which is generally pretty reliable. They felt a little flimsy to me compared to the monstrosities you find at Babies R Us, but they are perfectly safe. I'm a fan of Ikea in general. They have a lot of actual wood furniture for affordable prices, and even the particle board crap is higher quality particle board crap than you'd find at Target or Walmart.
Thread: "What is the best convertible crib for first time parents?"
I wish we'd just gone with a cheapo Ikea crib. We got a fancier one that also converts to a double bed but our kid was a beaver and chewed it to hell. It would take a lot of labour to restore it to a state where I'd want to use it as furniture for an older kid or a guest room. Cribs are a consumable. They take a lot of abuse. Don't be swayed by conversion modes beyond a toddler bed.
Thread: "IKEA Sniglar Crib"
It’s the single most solid purchase I’ve probably ever made. I’ve had it as a crib, and now a toddler bed. Zero complaints.
Thread: "Crib: splurge or save?"
This is the one I bought secondhand! It’s simple and convertible to a toddler bed.
Thread: "best convertible crib how do you even choose one as a first time parent?"
I put that one on my registry bc I read the reviews and I’m a fan of the price (especially when asking others to chip in) and my MIL saw it and said “please pick a more substantial crib.” I think she was just judging based on price.
Thread: "Incredibly dumb question - are the $800+ cribs worth it?"
Yes we love our ikea sniglar!! Low tox, affordable, matches everything. We got ours on marketplace for $60
