I went for the huack alpha. It’s slightly cheaper than the trip trap and has a big range of colours and designs
Thread: "Why does everyone love the IKEA high chairs?"
We have a hauck alpha (actually 2 - my stepson is 5 and uses his). It's a cheap version of the tripp trapp and grows with the child. I love it! I see the ikea one recommended a lot but haven't tried it.

We love the Hauck Alpha, my sister in law has a Tripp trapp and I really can’t see a big difference between the two except the price.
Thread: "Highchairs: Ikea vs stokke"
There are some much better tripp trapp alts that I would recommend, particularly the Hauke Alpha: https://www.hauck.de/en/products/alpha
Thread: "What high chair do you use?"
The Hauck Alpha is pretty much the same as Trip Trapp but a fraction of the price
Thread: "High chair recommendations"
Was going to recommend the same one! We have it and love it.

seconding. same thing as the tripptrapp, fraction of the price. and newborn insert doubles as a bouncer up to 15kg so now that babe is sitting in the high chair the bouncer lives at the inlaws

I’m still pregnant but have the Hauck Alpha on my wishlist at the minute. Was coming to suggest it as a potential cheaper alternative, so glad to see this comment! Did you also get the newborn insert? A friend of mine told me probably not to bother buying any of it because she is giving me a Baby Bjorn bouncer and we won’t need the high chair until later, but I really want baby in the kitchen with us and at the table.
Thread: "Is the Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair actually worth it?"
Yeah they are multi-functional too. My 2yo still uses the high chair and I'm starting to use it as a step up stool in the kitchen so he can help cook. I am not even close to getting rid of it yet. The Ikea high chair will also suffice if you can't or don't want to spend the amount, since they are stupid expensive. We bought the chair from my son's Christmas money, otherwise we would not have bought it since the whole set was over £300. You could consider second-hand or a cheaper dupe like the Hauck Alpha, which looks just as good.
