Happiest Baby Sleepea
The Happiest Baby Sleepea is a swaddle designed to provide a secure and comforting sleep environment for infants. It features a unique design that allows for easy swaddling without the use of clips, making it user-friendly for nighttime changes.
Pros (+)
- Effectively keeps babies swaddled for better sleep
- Easy to use during nighttime diaper changes
- Similar design to the Snoo swaddle without clips
Cons (−)
- Some babies may still escape from the swaddle
- Re-swaddling can be cumbersome at night
- Limited effectiveness for early rollers
Why parents like it
Parents appreciate how the Sleepea prevents their babies from breaking out of swaddles, leading to better sleep. The ease of use during nighttime diaper changes is also frequently highlighted.
Common complaints
While many parents find the Sleepea effective, a small number report that their babies were able to escape from it by around eight weeks. Additionally, some parents note that redoing the entire swaddle can be cumbersome during late-night changes.
Parents looking for a swaddle that keeps their baby securely wrapped and promotes better sleep. The tradeoff is that some infants may still find a way to break free as they develop.
The Sleepea is a well-recommended swaddle that many parents find effective, though some babies may still escape as they grow.

Sleepea by Happiest Baby. It’s the Snoo swaddle minus the clips. It changed our lives!!!
Thread: "Swaddles that actually work?"
My kid has also been busting out of swaddles since she was born. So with Hulk babies in mind, here is my review of swaddles we've tried: **If you want your kid on absolute lockdown** \- Happiest Baby Sleepea. This is, to date, the only swaddle my kid has failed to break out of. It also allows for arms-out swaddling and the 3-size pack is pretty dang affordable. **If you want your kid to have some freedom without startling themselves awake** \- Love to Dream. Transitional swaddles really worked for my kid even during the newborn phase because she *hated* being constrained for too long. Plus, it lets babies self-soothe. My kid did "break out" by somehow slipping her arm down to her side (which might have been an issue if she were old enough to roll), though. **If you want disappointment** \- Halo. It's...fine. But strong babies who don't like being swaddled will bust out of these without much issue and the wings can therefore ride up over their faces. Every night with these inevitably left me anxious or frustrated. My kid actually stretched out the fabric with how often she tried to break out. Off-brands were actually better.
Thread: "What swaddle did you use for your newborn baby?"
Sleepea by happiest baby. We used the one for the snoo, but they make one to be used without too
Thread: "For those of you who have used multiple brands of swaddles"
Second the Sleepea. Our LO has been able to bust out of all swaddles, including Halo, except this one. I love the compression and mesh vents. Really well made and worth the price!
Thread: "When buying a swaddle, what did you prioritize the most?"
Check out the happiest baby sleepea swaddle. It was so easy to use in the night and our baby loved it! We got the one that’s a higher tog weight and it was like a little comforter.
Thread: "The negligence of Happiest Baby to include a safety disclaimer with the leg lifters almost killed my baby"
UPDATE: I reached out to Happiest Baby and finally heard back. They claim that their products have been extensively tested and are all safe. They claim that both types of sleep sack are completely safe even for use with the incline. They implied that I had used the sleep sack incorrectly. I insisted that this incident be taken seriously and they let me talk to someone on the phone and then said they’d forward my concerns to the appropriate department. Unfortunately I don’t think they’ll make any changes. Hopefully it never happens again and maybe word will spread about the danger of using the old style of sleep sacks with an incline.

Thank you OP. Luckily we have the new sleep sacks and I was thinking about getting the leg lifters. This is great to learn albeit scary incident for you. Glad it wasn’t worse.
Thread: "Best Velcro swaddle?"
Our favorite is the Sleepea (same as the Snoo sack but can be used outside the Snoo). However, both babies have escaped successfully. Here’s what we did that you can probably adapt to any other Velcro swaddle and works 100% of the time: Get a long burp cloth or towel about 3x as wide as your baby. Lay it on top of your Velcro swaddle, then lay baby on top of it. Wrap one end of the cloth over one of your baby’s arms, and then tuck that under their body. Repeat on the other side. NOW put the Velcro swaddle on as normal. It doesn’t have to be super tight at all, but it keeps their arms in place! There are also variations of this with a muslin swaddle you can do ([this is the video that inspired me](https://youtu.be/xaB63OMf-sU)) It’s all about using baby’s torso to lock them in.
Thread: "I’ve spent so much money on swaddles/sleep sacks…what works?"
I swear by Happiest baby sweet pea swaddle. Every baby is different but out off ALL the swaddles we tried, these were by far the best. The straps are tight enough to really get her arms down, and if she does manage to break free, everything is contained in the sack so I don’t have to worry about fabric bunching up around her face. It also has little holes in the front so she doesn’t over heat. AND best of all, once she starts to roll, I can unsnap the shoulder holes and can use it with her arms out. I try to buy everything used on FB market place or Poshmark because those swaddles brand new cost $30 and I can get them used for about $10
Thread: "Happiest baby sleepea users - when did you stop swaddling your baby?"
We stopped around 4 months when he started rolling belly to back. Still used the sleepea, just took his arms out. Once he outgrew it, we switched to a kyte baby sleep sack
Thread: "For those of you who have used multiple brands of swaddles"
Swaddle me & Aden & Anais - I do not like these. The Velcro isn’t large enough to wrap around my skinny baby so it’s not super size inclusive. Her arms always break out Halo - had this in the hospital. One of our favorite go to. Can wrap her real tight and it’ll grow with her. Happiest baby sweet pea - I like to zipper but have to redo the whole swaddle everytime not just the bottom part because her hands are in the way whenever i change her diaper Love to dream - didn’t work when she was smaller but now she fits into it better so I love the simple zipper. Probably my favorite right now Plain old blanket - gave up on these at the hospital but tried one last night when she was already sleeping to keep her in a deep sleep. Now that she’s a bit bigger, it’s easier to use. Her arms broke out eventually but she was hungry and was gonna wake up anyway. Basically halo & love to dream are the only ones I care for.

I love the Happiest Baby Sleepea. It is on sale at Indigo.
Thread: "Transitioning swaddles?"
I’m really loving the sleepea: https://www.happiestbaby.com/products/sleepea-swaddle. Once you can lose the compression, sleep sacks are great. We’ve had a lot of luck with milk snob.
Thread: "Happiest baby sleepea users - when did you stop swaddling your baby?"
We started doing 1 arm out around 3 months and were in sleep sacks by 4 months. We did notice she really was fighting the sleep pea, and it is a bit more intense, so used the love to dream for day time until full transitioned to sleep sack!
Thread: "Trying to break out of the swaddle - what are our options?"
The happiest baby Sleapea was amazing. I don't see it talked about ever, but we love it and it is more widely available now and they often have BOGO deals. We also followed the swaddle trick on the happiest baby site with using a cloth diaper around his arms. But then we found out we swaddled too long, so...
Thread: "For those of you who have used multiple brands of swaddles"
Yes, this is the best swaddle. Arms never break free.
Thread: "swaddles that baby can't break out of?"
The only one that could hold our baby in were the Sleepeas. But we really pulled those suckers tight to keep her in. You may also be in too small of one if she keeps getting out.
Thread: "Need advice on baby sleepwear and swaddles"
we used the sleepea which has similar trunk compression to this one. it also allows for arms out, which is good once they start showing signs of rolling. we just gradually loosened the velcro band until it was basically not being used then switched her to a sleepsack! ETA: she's 3 months today. started arms out at 7 weeks.
Thread: "Well the scariest moment of my life happened and now we can't swaddle arms in"
I could only use the sleepeas or lovetodreams because there was never any fabric that could get near his face
Thread: "Sleepea?"
Okay great, thank you! Yeah I got a bundle of them! Excited to try it out.
Thread: "Happiest baby sleepea users - when did you stop swaddling your baby?"
We had a sleepea and my LO was routinely breaking out by 8 weeks and we stopped at 9 weeks when baby started rolling back to belly. We stopped swaddling with no transition.
Thread: "Happiest baby sleepea users - when did you stop swaddling your baby?"
Yes! I believe so. There are clips on the sides of the shoulder so hands can be put through there and the arm straps can just go under the arms, over the body so it becomes more like a sleep sack. Haven't tried it yet though
Thread: "Sleepea?"
The only difference between the Sleepea and the Snoo swaddles is that Snoo swaddles have “wings” to connect them to the Snoo, which is important for the Snoo because it moves so much. Sleepeas are great for non-moving bassinets. Btw, I think I tried approximately a million (ish) swaddles and sleep sacks with my first baby. I got a Snoo for my second baby, and I was impressed with the swaddle design. I think you’ll like your Sleepeas. Just remember to put them into a tight mesh lingerie bag when washing to protect your other items from the velcro, and don’t be surprised when they take forever to dry (my dryer’s sensor doesn’t work well for the Snoo sacks, so I have to tell it to time dry).
Thread: "Best swaddle for small newborns?"
We use the sleepea 5 second swaddle - it’s basically the same as the snoo swaddle without the little wings to clip them in. Super easy to use.
Thread: "What swaddle did you use for your newborn baby?"
Unfortunately happiest baby sleepea are still quite escapable. They worked well enough. Now using the halo swaddle sack with arms out and I wish we started with this one
