Thread: "What bassinet to buy ?"
We went with the Graco Sense2Snooze. I got it on Marketplace for $100. It has multiple rocking speeds, two vibration levels, white noise, nature sounds, and songs. It can also detect crying and will cycle through pre-programmed settings to help soothe your baby. In the US, all bassinets and crib mattresses have to meet the same safety standards. If you want to purchase a Newton and feel better about that, go for it but there’s no reason to spend the money on fancier items if they aren’t a good fit for you. Your baby is just as safe in the cheapest bassinet bassinet and they are in the most expensive.
Thread: "Bassinet or no bassinet, do we really need one?"
Oh I currently have that on my list! Thank you!
Thread: "Did you guys get a bassinet?"
Yes. We used the graco sense2snooze for our first and are currently using it again for our LO who is three weeks old.
Thread: "Are those fancy bassinets worth it?"
I didn't have Snoo, but we started with Graco sense 2snooze, which is currently 329. I'll paste my comment here from another thread: What really helped my LO was actually changing bassinet. We had sense to snooze by Graco, which rocks and vibrates. BUT it squeaks every time it moves and moves every time baby moves, kicks etc. So essentially baby was jerking himself up wide awake (and you could not block rocking function). After we changed bassinet for something that does not move at all he started sleeping longer stretches. In my opinion - waste of money. Now when my son is 1, I would just star from the beginning in the crib instead of worring about yet another thing.
Thread: "Tell me about your bassinet! "
FTM here too & I bought the Graco Sense2Snooze bassinet off FB Marketplace for $100😅 it was new out of box. Apparently their baby just didn’t like it. I decided to go with this one because of the Cry Detection. I was traumatized by my nephew who would only go to sleep if someone sat there and rocked the bassinet (that doesn’t have a rocking feature). I thought it’d help at night too to give us a couple extra minutes to get up to breastfeed/prep the bottle. We shall see as I’m 30 wks.
