Why parents like it
Parents appreciate the bassinet's safe sleeping environment and its ease of use for both daytime naps and nighttime sleep. Its compatibility with the UPPAbaby stroller adds to its convenience for on-the-go families.
Common complaints
The most common complaint is that babies outgrow the bassinet quickly, often within a few months. Additionally, some parents feel the price is high for the limited duration of use.

I bought one in great condition off FB Marketplacd for $40. I like it but couldn’t justify spending $200 on it. We haven’t used it yet, but plan to for walks once I’m cleared to move around more.
Thread: "Is the UPPAbaby bassinet worth it?"
I had the bassinet and really loved it, but only used it for about 3.5 months before she outgrew it. We walked every single day and she would lounge/nap in it in our backyard daily so I felt like it was worth it for us. We plan on having more babies so I will definitely store it and use it again. Big fan of our whole UPPAbaby stroller system!

We loved it, bought the stand and it was our living room safe sleep place for baby. It was easy to move onto the crib for walks. I got ours used!

My baby slept in his Uppababy bassinet until he outgrew it at 10 weeks, then I moved him to a crib. He's a big boy though!

CPST- car seats are meant for cars and are not recommended for walks. Even when going for a walk, you should not have your child bundled in a thick snowsuit in a car seat. A bassinet is always the safest option for young babies for walks. It also shelters them from the wind much better and allows you to bundle them up because there are no straps. We are expecting late September and have the vista. I fully intend on doing bassinet walks in the winter. The car seat attachment for the stroller is only for quick errands in to the grocery store or an appointment. If you can purchase a bassinet (so many on marketplace used) then it's an excellent option! Otherwise, I'm not sure about the Cruz but the vista can be used from birth with their infant cushion. It may be a cheaper option.
Thread: "UppaBaby bassinet for overnight sleep"
I can't comment on the angelcare but Canada has very high standards for what it considers sleep safe. Mesh is not the only material that provides good airflow or is safe; pack and plays have mesh sides but are not considered sleep safe here -- the design, size, and shape matters as much, if not more, than materials. Anything marked as a Crib, Cradle, or Bassinet in the Canadian market has to comply with the safety standards: https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/safe-sleep/cribs-cradles-bassinets.html Hope this puts your mind at ease! Edit: I also got the uppababy bassinet and am very diligent when it comes to sleep safety.

We used the uppababy bassinet with a jolly jumper stand for the first 4-ish months with our LO and it worked great. Once we started to transition out of his swaddle we felt the crib would be better as he had more room to move his arms. The only thing I didn't like about using the jolly jumper stand was that the handle on the bassinet makes one side weigh more so in order to have it level I needed to our some books under the rocker. Not a big deal though and was worth it to only pay $30 on marketplace for a stand rather than $150 for the uppababy stand.
Thread: "Is the UPPAbaby bassinet worth it?"
Same here, I also used it for overnight sleep, it was my baby’s primary sleeping spot for about 3.5 months
Thread: "Is the UPPAbaby bassinet worth it?"
Yes I see them all over fb marketplace! We got our whole stroller+bassinet there. We used it on walks until he was 3 months, every single day and still use it at 4 months for some naps in our living room. He’s close to too big though
Thread: "What kind of bassinet is everyone getting? [on] "
I struggled with this one but decided to do the Uppababy bassinet in the end. I got the V3 stroller for BF so it doesn’t come with one. I knew LOs grow quickly out of it, but I like that it’s sleep rated for portability, stroller compatible, can be used with future kids, and is one less item to buy/store. It seemed like a no brainer when it came to functionality. So I ended up buying it with the Jolly Jumper stand and plan to move over to a crib once it’s outgrown.
Thread: "Has anyone used their stroller bassinet as a bedside bassinet for their newborn?"
My baby slept in the Uppababy bassinet up until last week and she is 5 months. She loved it. We got the jolly jumper stand for it, we didn’t want the dirty stroller wheels in our bedroom and we would have it carry it up and down 3 flights of stairs whenever we would want to use it.
Thread: "Has anyone used their stroller bassinet as a bedside bassinet for their newborn?"
The uppababy bassinet is rated for overnight sleep
Thread: "Is the UPPAbaby bassinet worth it?"
We use it on walks but we get the most use out of it inside on the floor. It’s a great safe place to put the baby and we can easily carry it from room to room. Lot of naps have happened in that bassinet! Now that we have a toddler and a newborn it’s been extra useful to keep the baby from getting accidentally trampled
Thread: "Has anyone used their stroller bassinet as a bedside bassinet for their newborn?"
We used the Uppababy bassinet and it worked great. He just switched to a crib. We had it on the Jolly Jumper rocking stand which fit really well. At $60 (Canadian) it was a way cheaper option.
Thread: "Thoughts on Halo Bassinest?"
I really wish I had gotten a portable bassinet that I could move around the house with me instead. I was constantly tripping over the Halo’s very wide legs. I eventually got an uppababy bassinet and loved how versatile it is — I could use it as a pram and as a bassinet that moved with me.
Thread: "Help choosing a bedside bassinet"
Not sure what stroller you have but we have the Uppababy and we use the Uppababy bassinet on a jolly jumper stand next to the bed (it’s rated safe for sleep). You can find them used on Facebook marketplace for cheaper. I’m on my second baby doing this and both have slept very well in the bassinet!
Thread: "Is the Uppababy Bassinet worth it during the winter time?"
We added the infant snugseat to our registry. It's about $80CAD and it allows you to use the rumble seat for newborns. You can completely lay them back and have them flat with the snugseat. It might be a better option for you. We were told that we wouldn't get our money's worth with the bassinet attachment and we are due in Sept!
Thread: "Uppababy bassinet worth it?"
It really depends. We have it because it came in the stroller bundle. We did end up using it quite a bit the first 3 months because we took a lot of walks and didn't have the infant snug seat yet. Got the snug seat around 3 months and she liked being able to sit up more and look around. However, where we got the most use of the bassinet was inside. We have a two story house with a bassinet in our room upstairs, but we ended up using the Uppababy bassinet downstairs which was convenient for daytime naps. It is safe-sleep approved unlike other infant rest places like the dock-a-tot. If we had a 1-story house the bassinet wouldn't have been worth it, IMO.
Thread: "How do I know if a bassinet is good?"
Honestly, I recommend getting a used bassinet. They’re so expensive new, and they’re used for such a short time. We borrowed a Halo from my cousin. Baby absolutely hated it. Randomly had the chance to use a Uppababy Vista bassinet. Baby slept so well in it. We bought a Vista bassinet off marketplace and washed the side wall and mattress cover. $25 for good nights of sleep.
Thread: "Is the Uppababy Bassinet worth it during the winter time?"
I had a December baby and loved having the bassinet. I loved that it was a safe sleeping space, so much smaller than a pack and play, and easy to keep baby asleep between home and walk. I would put baby in a bunting suit and blanket on walks, then when we got home I would take away the blanket and let baby sleep in the bunting suit. My baby loved it. Also my husband struggled with PPA, so he appreciated how easy it was to carry sleeping baby room to room. I agree with the other comments here, don’t buy it first hand.
Thread: "Is the UPPAbaby bassinet worth it?"
We just got the snug seat and used the main stroller from birth
Thread: "UppaBaby bassinet for overnight sleep"
We have an uppababy bassinet and I too was worried about the sides not being mesh before bringing baby home after reading on the internet. Once I brought baby home I realized how small they are in there and there is good air flow and I felt comfortable. My LO is now 4.5 months and still sleeps in it as he doesn’t roll yet. Your instinct will kick in if it feels safe! No one knows your baby better than you do. I can’t comment on Angel care part of it as I don’t use that but I will say the big downside to a bassinet That isn’t adjustable with your bed is the bassinet being higher than the Bad I find a real pain because every time baby moves or needs the pacifier back in, I have to physically sit up and almost get out of bed to reach inside. Gets old after the 30 time in the nights esp the first few weeks of recovery!
Thread: "Is the UPPAbaby bassinet worth it?"
We used it as our son’s overnight sleep space so it was definitely worth it to us!
Thread: "Crib or bassinet for newborn? [ON]"
I'm not sure if you've decided on a stroller, but the uppababy strollers come with a bassinet attachment that are rated safe for sleep. You can also get a stand to put the uppababy bassinet on to use inside without the stroller. We have the uppababy bassinet and got a halo from a friend, and my 3 month old much prefers the uppababy bassinet. So if you go with an uppababy stroller, you may not need to invest in a 'separate' bassinet
Thread: "UppaBaby Vista Bassinet"
We had the Halo in our room and used the Vista Bassinet with the stand for when we visited family and when she was with her caretakers until she was about 5 or 6 months. The Halo was a waste of money for us. She slept horribly in there and although it was nice we could see her, I think her being able to see us was a distraction. It’s also so big and heavy that it took up as much room as her crib does now. I would just try to use the Vista Bassinet, and then try to transfer to crib or pack n play from that when baby outgrows the bassinet.
Thread: "UppaBaby Vista Bassinet"
I did! At night I put it either on the pack and play or on my bed, for naps had it sitting on the couch
Thread: "Tell me about your bassinet! "
We did the same thing! Baby slept in the pack and play in our room in the bassinet/high level/low level options through 7 months and then we transitioned him to his room. We have the pack and play still for travel, which is great. We also had the uppababy vista bassinet for living room naps, worked great, wouldn’t have changed a thing.
Thread: "Has anyone used their stroller bassinet as a bedside bassinet for their newborn?"
The jolly jumper one fits the uppababy bassinets and people sell them on marketplace for like $10-30 I have no idea why but the bassinet itself is considered a safe sleep space, but not if it’s on the stroller. Again, I can’t see why it would matter but we were told while buying our stroller that uppababy hasn’t rated it as a safe sleep space if attached to the stroller
Thread: "UppaBaby bassinet for overnight sleep"
This is exactly our situation haha
Thread: "Is the UPPAbaby bassinet worth it?"
LOVE the bassinet!! Baby took about half his naps in it in walks for the first 6 months of his life, and it’s so easy to get him in and out, plus it’s a safe sleep space with him able to move on his back and not be strapped in. I got ours used but honestly would pay full price if I hadn’t found one— it would have been worth the cost for us! Plus baby stays asleep in there often, even just after a walk around a few blocks, I can roll him inside and take a shower or etc. I had a summer baby but even used it a TON I the winter when he was around 6 months under the rain cover, and it was great then too!
Thread: "Crib or Bassinet? Sleeping in same room necessary?"
We have a queen bed in our nursery and my husband and I swapped nights sleeping in the room with the baby for the first 12 weeks. After that she started sleeping through the night (about half the time) and we felt comfortable leaving her. NGL, I had a hard time at first, but it also felt great getting back into the same bed as my husband. Sleep was SO much better not sharing a room with baby, and we obviously keep the monitor on. Bassinet wasn’t necessary but it was an attachment with the stroller (uppa vista) and I was gifted the bassinet stand so we had it set up next to the bed in the nursery. It was convenient because a lot of times the baby would fuss and we could just pop the pacifier back in the baby’s mouth without getting out of bed and she did sleep better in the bassinet when she was super little. She went in her crib full time about 10/11 weeks
Thread: "Has anyone used their stroller bassinet as a bedside bassinet for their newborn?"
My baby did this as well! He outgrew it at around 12 weeks.. so we bought the bassinet & the stand for nothing lol. He did like sleeping in it over his halo bassinet - but has since adjusted and is okay with sleeping in the halo one.
Thread: "Has anyone used their stroller bassinet as a bedside bassinet for their newborn?"
We used the uppababy bassinet (with stand) for about 8 weeks before moving him to the crib.
Thread: "Did you guys get a bassinet?"
Got the UPPAbaby’s bassinet to use with the stroller and we used it for 3 and a half months. Our space was small and it fit perfectly right beside the bed.
Thread: "Tell me about your bassinet! "
Got the uppa baby cruz stroller and the bassinet we’ll be using with the stand at night
Thread: "Is a stroller bassinet worth it?"
Same here. We ended up using our uppababy bassinet for night time sleep in our room since she preferred it over her pack n play bassinet
Thread: "Is the Uppababy Bassinet worth it during the winter time?"
I had two fall babies and absolutely loved having the bassinet for winter. Really easy to keep baby warm in then since it has the built in cover. Great for visiting for the holidays for no stress safe sleeping arrangements wherever you are.
Thread: "UppaBaby Vista Bassinet"
My sister did. I think my nephew slept in it for months 0-4. They didn't buy the stand they just had it on a sturdy surface beside her bed. They had no issues :)
Thread: "Is the UPPAbaby bassinet worth it?"
It was very worth it for me. We went on walks and even when we were at friends houses baby could sleep in it so we made use of it for about 3-4 months. I had a tall baby so couldn’t use it beyond that time.
Thread: "Uppababy bassinet worth it?"
We use the bassinet SO much. On walks but also in the house. It’s great as a place to nap. Our baby also ended up sleeping in it at nights for the first ~8 weeks because the crib and bedside bassinet were too big / roomy and he didn’t seem to like them
Thread: "Is the UPPAbaby bassinet worth it?"
I got the beautiful blue one on FB for $40 (in Canada, west coast). My baby is large, 18 lbs 4 months. We’ve used this daily for walks and on bad days bring the stroller inside and she will nap in there with a little movement. I’ve also heard they fit on the jolly jumper stands that are cheaper than the uppa baby ones.
Thread: "Is the UPPAbaby bassinet worth it?"
Yes especially for a summer baby but find one on marketplace secondhand for a fraction of the cost. Like others have mentioned you only use it for a very short time so ones you find secondhand will likely still be in perfect condition
Thread: "Uppababy bassinet worth it?"
We loved the bassinet, so much that we got the stand and kept it as a safe sleep place in our living room
Thread: "Bassinet on Stroller - Nice to have or not necessary?"
After our spring baby was born, we extensively used the Uppababy Vista (original) bassinet. It was perfect for indoor mall walks and sleeping when visiting family. While transferring the baby from the car seat to the bassinet is inconvenient, we found it more comfortable for extended periods. Plus, it made it easy to change the baby when no changing area was available.
Thread: "UppaBaby bassinet for overnight sleep"
Our now three month old has spend almost every night sleeping in the uppababy bassinet. The sides aren’t mesh but they are very breathable. It was great for us when he was super tiny but now he’s getting too tall so it’s back to the crib he goes 😂
Thread: "Uppababy bassinet worth it?"
I don't have input on whether it's worth it but I wanted to mention that I see these listed on Facebook Marketplace all the time! If you're not settled on it, you could possibly find an affordable secondhand bassinet to try.
Thread: "Is the Uppababy Bassinet worth it during the winter time?"
I bought the Cruz and made do with the infant snug seat. HOWEVER, what I didn’t realize was the importance of babies lying flat while sleeping. My girl is a thriving toddler now, but if I had another baby I’d get the bassinet. For ease of use in terms of sleeping and yes, travel, the ability for napping to happen and continue in multiple places. Swapping out the seat for the bassinet when visiting the grandparents and bringing the stroller would have made one less thing to pack. Like, you can absolutely get by without it, but it depends on your intended use. I had a bassinet hand me down that we used in the main living space at home and brought with us for travel. But having one less thing to pack would have been nice. And you’re not supposed to leave baby napping in the car seat for very long before they have full neck control, as it’s a suffocation risk. Basically, if they nap in the car seat/inclined default stroller seat, you’ll be needing to check on them frequently/supervise naps.
Thread: "What bassinet to buy ?"
My son slept in the Uppababy bassinet until he outgrew it, and then we transitioned to a pack n play next to our bed. We moved him to the crib in his room around seven months, after the SIDS risk dropped precipitously. He did great with all of them. Getting something solid was all that was needed.
Thread: "Is the Uppababy Bassinet worth it during the winter time?"
Our kiddo was born mid November and we had the Cruz. I purchased the snugseat which worked well for us and I liked the liner for after. We did luck out and we were able to borrow the bassinet from a friend. Our kid had colic for 3 months so walks in the winter we’re our saving grace. I almost preferred the snugseat on the rumble seat. It made folding the stroller and storing it a lot easier (we lived in a condo at the time). When going for mall walks, it was one less attachment to bring. I rarely felt comfortable keeping her in the car seat for walks. Definitely check marketplace or with friends to see if there’s one you can buy used/borrow! It’s a nice option to have. The other benefit was when she fell asleep during a walk, I could just leave her in the bassinet or unclip the bassinet and relocate her.
Thread: "Bassinet on Stroller - Nice to have or not necessary?"
I have a 3.5 month old. I have the uppababy Vista and the uppababy Minu. The bassinet was a must for us and ended up being all our baby slept in. Originally got the hall bassinet but she loved the uppababy one. What I can say about the vista is its bigggg and it has not left the house lol only used for walks. However the minu is way more compact and stays in the car.
