Thread: "Overrated and underrated high chairs"
The cover doesn’t come off?!? Our Graco high chair came with a cover that I washed once and then wondered why I was washing it when I could just not use it.

It’s definitely way more than the style. The Tripp Trapp can grow with your child and can even be sat in by adults actually. It also has great foot support which occupational therapists recommended for proper eating function. For many, it’s not a must-have, but if you buy second-hand like I did, it’s my favorite item. I had a plastic Graco before I found the deal and couldn’t believe how much gunk got trapped in all the crevices. None to really hide in with the Tripp Trapp. Maybe the buckle/harness but that can be removed altogether and cleaned.
Thread: "What made you choose your high chair?"
We were broke, saw a graco high chair in good condition on the side of the road, took it home. It’s worked great for us! Not the easiest to clean but it has a reclining back that i really like, makes it easy to get her in and out.
Thread: "Tripp Trapp or IKEA Antilop?"
I paid $25 for a graco high chair off Marketplace. My 11mo has been happily eating for 5 months. Don’t get caught up in the influencer/Reddit trap.
Thread: "Why does everyone love the IKEA high chairs?"
I am with you on that one. I don’t like it at all. I am that one person who loves her Graco high chair.
Thread: "Why does everyone love the IKEA high chairs?"
Yay one person agrees! Each to their own of course

I did not want to pay for the stokke Tripp trapp so I got the mockingbird high chair instead. We LOVE it. We had a graco high chair for my first and we hated it. It was difficult to clean, huge, and was not ergonomic. The mocking bird high chair is easy to clean, seems comfortable, the straps are wipable, the trap cover comes off, it is the perfect height for a dining room table, footrest is in a good position, and I don’t trip on it because it is a smaller profile. I highly recommend it. I can’t find a flaw. I researched a ton and people had a lot of complaints about the straps for the Tripp trapp.
Thread: "Get that IKEA high chair"
Nah I wasn't either, they're frigging expensive and for what reason?!?! I was given a graco one, honestly thing was huge and was expecting having to fork out a fortune for one she actually fit in whilst lasting a while too. I'm thankful I got to test one out before buying an overpriced one 🙏
Thread: "Easiest high chair to clean?"
Omg non removable cloth?!?! Thats horrendous. Ours came with a cover and after a few months i just chucked it aside lol but the amount of crevasses are crazy for my ingenuity one. Ill def check the ikea one, the price point seems good too.
Thread: "Do you love or hate the Stokke Tripp Trapp?"
My sister is about to have her first and while I don’t want her to feel like she can’t have the same nice things my kids have, I told her that our friends have a Graco high chair that we were really impressed with. We have the Tripp Trapp, my mom gifted it to us.
Thread: "Don’t be influenced to buy the mockingbird highchair"
I wish I saw this thread before I was influenced by the silicone straps! I was using a random Graco highchair before, and the amount of cracks and crevices with caked up old food was nauseating. Add in the stained filthy straps, and I’ve had enough. I’m shocked by how flimsy the tray is on the Mockingbird. I also have a pretty chubby baby and when I tried to take her out, the entire chair came with her. Ugh, I’ve had it 5 mins and seriously am regretting this purchase. Anyone who returned their Mockingbird - did customer service give a hard time?
Thread: "Don’t be influenced to buy the mockingbird highchair"
So after all this I ended up keeping the stupid thing. I still regret the purchase but ultimately don’t have the wherewithal to try and return it. I contacted their customer service about concerns getting my child in and out of the chair and received a lengthy and detailed response that basically suggested I load and unload him from behind. It actually works so much better, especially for getting him out. My dude is a little chunky too but if I stand behind the chair and pick him up for some reason he just slides out so much easier. I still hate the tray and think the tray liner is a useless gimmick. In what world does baby food only get on the tray liner and not on all the little exposed sections of tray? Or underneath the tray? I do think the tray slides in and out nicely- that is one mechanism I can appreciate. So like I said, I’m keeping it but I still think it’s such a lame item that is wildly over hyped and I will recommend people purchase something else if I’m ever asked.
