[Fisher Price Bassinet](https://www.babiesrus.ca/en/Fisher-Price-Soothing-Motions-Bassinet---Falling-Leaves/14F7980B.html) That is the bassinet we used for my son. He’s 7 months now. It’s got music/white noise and vibrates. We really liked it for the 4 months it was in use. Then baby started squirming around a lot in bed and we moved him to the mini crib. It’s a bit lower than our bed and was very easy to get him in and out.

If you're not getting something like a snoo they're all pretty much the same. I stressed about this so much and my husband was like I'm taking over that purchase and got the [fisher price soothing motions bassinet](https://www.amazon.ca/Fisher-Price-Soothing-Motions-Bassinet-Windmill/dp/B01M9CZ0HN). It was totally fine and very sturdy and the legs don't jut out. We used the vibration a bit but none of the other features or the mobile. Also even with the mesh sides I found I couldn't see my LO from the side unless it was very well lit. We actually had the monitor over the bassinet in our room incase we did let him nap alone for a little bit and at night sometimes I would use that to look at him rather than stand up haha. Do not get a no name one from amazon, get something you recognize the brand name of/could buy in person at like Walmart. Anything called a bassinet is safe except there are lots of random brands on Amazon that don't meet the Canadian standards and should not be sold.

This is the one we purchased for our little guy due in May. We bought it used in perfect condition from FB Marketplace for 50 dollars.

Used the Fisher Price Soothing Motions. For both my babies. I love the vibration feature, and built in white noise machine.

This is the bassinet that I purchased after seeing good reviews and a few recommendations. I haven’t used it yet because I’m due in May. Glad to hear that you had a good experience with it.

It's convenient to have baby easily accessible beside your bed for the early months because they wake up so frequently. But you can also do that with a pack n play, or make yourself a makeshift bed in the nursery. You can also put baby in their crib in their own room from the get go, but understand you'll be going back and forth often (tough if you plan to breastfeed while recovering from childbirth) and that room sharing has a protective effect against SIDS that isn't totally understood. We used the Fisher Price Soothing Motions bassinet with both my kids for the first 3.5 months before moving them to their own rooms. I got it second hand and sold it after I was done. Bassinets are used for such a short time by such tiny babies that they don't take much wear and tear. It's not necessarily a major expense if you don't want it to be.

I got the fisher price soothing motions. It ended up collecting dust because my baby refused to sleep in it 😂

I think we have this one too, need to bring it out for a second baby soon. It worked just fine, never used the sound or other features but liked that I could lay in bed and rock it. Definitely helped with sleep.
