Evenflo Gold Revolve360

The Evenflo Gold Revolve360 is a convertible car seat designed to rotate 360 degrees, making it easier to load and unload your child. It accommodates children from 4 to 50 pounds in rear-facing mode and up to 65 pounds in forward-facing mode.

Pros (+)

  • Rotates 360 degrees for easy access
  • Extended rear-facing capability enhances safety
  • Generally easy to install and use

Cons (−)

  • Chest straps can twist, complicating securing the child
  • Some reported detachment issues with the base
  • Not as compact as some other models

Why parents like it

The rotating feature is praised for making it much easier to get kids in and out of the car. Parents also appreciate the extended rear-facing capability, which adds safety for younger children.

Common complaints

Some parents have reported that the chest straps can get twisted easily, making it a hassle to secure their child. A few others experienced a detachment issue with the base, raising concerns about safety.

Best for

Parents looking for a user-friendly car seat that simplifies getting kids in and out of the car. Be aware that while it excels in convenience, some parents have faced issues with the chest straps.

Bottom line

The Evenflo Gold Revolve360 offers convenience for parents, but some concerns about strap functionality and base attachment should be noted.

They all meet the same safety requirements. There are some extra levels of safety marketed on some seats, but since there isn’t a regulated standard for things like rebound bars or the stabilizing leg, I wouldn’t put too much stock in those features. Pricier car seats are often easier to use and/or more luxe. Things like zip off cushions for easy cleaning, better quality straps and snaps that are easier to use, no rethread straps, bases with simpler installs, or seats that pivot to make getting kids in/out easier. We have the evenflo gold pivot and love it. It’s so much easier to use than the graco one we got for the grandparents car.

I have the slim version, and love it. I don't know how I would be able to jam my almost 2 year old into a regular rear facing seat, especially when he's fighting it. He sits kind of cross legged, or with his legs dangling over the sides - I don't think you have to sit in a dramatic v shape like that girl in the picture. I know it's under investigation, but it hasn't been recalled yet. The seat separates from the base when it's at kind of at a quarter turn. It locks in place when it's forward or rear facing, but not when it's sideways for loading/unloading. The instructions very clearly state, that when your kid isn't in the seat, you need to turn it to a locked position. I never remember to do this, and drive around with it loose all the time (obviously when the baby isn't in it). I don't think it's been confirmed if in the accident in question, the seat separated from the base from a locked position or a loose position. I can totally see it being my fault if that happened to me, because I don't lock the empty seat. Having said that, I can see why some parents don't want to risk it, but I feel comfortable continuing to use it. If it's gets confirmed that it separated from a locked position, especially with a child in it, I would stop using it. I would still replace it with a rotating car seat though.

Thread: "Safest convertible car seat for baby?"

I went with the evenflo every stage SensorSafe gold convertible seat. It rearfaces to like 50 lbs/48 inches-so for a long time!! And rear facing is the safest way to ride. Also, I like that it will alert me when baby is in the car seat when I stop the car. If I ignore the alert and walk out of range it will alert me via Bluetooth and also text my husband through the app or anyone else you ask it to. I’m paranoid about her getting left in the car seat on a hot day, so the extra money was totally worth the peace of mind for me. I also can remove the cover and wash it, which is nice, and 2 year old seems to find it comfortable.

The CPSTs in Canada are not a fan of this seat as even grains of sand have caused the rotation to fail. Have you had any issues with that at all? Edit: typo

My son who is currently 36 inches tall is still very comfortable and I think he will be for several more inches. He doesn't have to bend his legs to fit yet. I was in an accident last fall (2023) with the Evenflo Revolve 360 Gold (not the new extend version). It was a front end collision and the seat remained intact and my son was unharmed. It was installed with the seat belt and rear facing. They replaced the seat with the new extend version.

She doesn’t look nearly as “v” shaped as this girl in the photo once I got it all set up. She fell asleep so fast on our way home. I think it’s a hit. Loading her is so much nicer, I was starting to have to kind of “plop” her into the infant one and then adjust her because gf is HEAVY!

We have it but I can’t say he loves it. It does make going in an out easy. Overall It’s fine. At times it seems the clips are super close to his chunky thighs.

We have two Evenflo Revolve 360 Golds and we seriously considered skipping using the infant seat for our second child because we love them so much.

We had the Uppababy Mesa V2 as our bucket seat and then got the Evenflo Gold Revolve 360 for our convertible. The Uppababy is significantly sturdier, the fabric feels nicer, and the finishes are just better in general. They’re all safe but some are nicer than others.

A to Q3: I was recently in a car accident. Head on collision, all air bags deployed. I was in a Cadillac XT6. I had 2 evenflo gold 360 car seats with me. One was properly anchored/secured. The other was not (I was just transporting it home and there was no children in either seat). Both car seats, even the one that wasn’t properly anchored looked intact. We obviously replaced both seats regardless of them looking intact. We were aware of the current investigation but were encouraged given the fact that in the car accident I was in there appeared to be no damage to the seats and they did not separate from the base. I was hoping someone would have answered Q1 as I’m now on the search for a new vehicle and keep forgetting to measure how much space the evenflo 360 actually requires when in rear facing mode.

I know this is an old post but if someone is still looking. I measured ours (slim version), it is 28-30” in RF. This is with the headrest low enough it doesn’t go above the shell. If your RF a taller child, you will need to add additional inches.

Have it, love it. Bought it for my 98th percentile 1 year old. He just turned 3 and he’s still going strong in it. About to buy a second one for my second kiddo who’s about to outgrow the infant seat.

Thread: "Anyone have the evenflo revolve 360 gold? "

We have the evenflo revolve 360 extend (so basically the same seat as the gold i think - we have the one in the picture). We love it! Would buy another one in a snap. Makes it so easy to get in and out and my kiddo finds it really comfy. I would note that the cushion that the toddler's feet are resting on in that picture is removable (it zips off) - we removed it so I think that gives more room but honestly leg room hasn't been an issue. I think if you're hoping to rear face until 4 like we are, then no matter what, their legs are going to be going up the seat like that. But it's shown to be perfectly safe for their legs to be in that position, and kids are so flexible i dont think they mind. My only thing I would change with this seat if I could would be that the headrest should have been made a little taller - ive heard others complain in addition to myself that even quite young kids end up looking like they are close to outgrowing the seat based on the one inch rule because the headrest just isnt as tall as some other seats. But apparently evenflo has stated that they have basically never found a kid that was otherwise within the limits of the seat outgrow it due to the one inch rule, so long as the headrest level has been appropriately adjusted to be at shoulder height, and the one inch is accurately measured.

I did Google why is my car seat so shaky lmao it worried me but I saw online it actually is supposed to be shaky that’s how it absorbs the shock w car crashes or something it is more concerning if it’s stiff! The only thing that should not move is the base! Omg yes I LOVE the car seat now I have to fork up more money for my new baby’s 360 😭 my toddler puts everything in the cup holders omg kids are so funny and cute lol

I am science informed, and follow CPST recommendations. Something like 95% of 4 year olds can safely rear face. The Evenflo Revolve 360 is rear facing until 50 lbs and 48 inches. I haven’t met a 13 month old that large. It is generally regarded very unsafe for a child to be forward facing this early.

How do you deal with the flimsy chest straps that always get twisted? The seat itself also feels rickety and wobbles in the base. Does this not bother you?

Nope. Not at all. The turning mechanism is in a shallow tray that food can and will fall into. Ours jammed when our son was 1. He’s 2 now. I recommend the Evenflo Gold revolve 360. Make sure it’s the one that goes to 50lb. It still turns super smooth, it’s easy to clean because the cover zips off and it’s easy to install. I wanted to like the Cybex because of the safety ratings but lord it was just annoying. We got the Evenflo for my car and Cybex for my husbands and my husband ended up getting so pissed when it jammed that he tossed it in the McDonald’s dumpster. My husband is normally super chill lmao. Meanwhile the evenflo is going strong still.

Thread: "Who else is still rear-facing?"

I am all for rear facing as lonh as possible. My car seat went to 40lbs and 40in rear facing and I had to turn my daughter forward facing at 3 and it made me sick because I Know how much safer her head neck and spine is rear facing. But she was 39.5 in at her 3 year old appointment. My moms car seat went to 49in and 50lbs rear facing and we kept her longer in my moms. Our current car seat harnes goes to 65lbs and height 54in, She was 39lbs at her 5 year old check up, and is around 46 in, I intended to keep her in a harness as long as possible. Evenflo booster seats now say to use properly you must be 5 years old, and all booster seats made in the last few years are 4 and 40lbs, but I have not met one 4 year old able to sit properly in a booster seat, they put the seat belt behind them, or slouch. And many parents don't read the manual to see their booster cannot be used till 4 and 40lbs and move to a booster at 3, or 4 and 35lbs which is not 40lbs.
