we’ve got 3 under 2 (in april) so they all need to rear face. we ended up having to buy new seats but it’s cheaper than a new car. britax poplar for our (almost) 2 year old, and britax willows for the twins. all 17” across and fit in my equinox. DO NOT GET DIONO! they’re clunky front to back, and they change their installs SO OFTEN it’s so tricky to do it right. get the graco slimfit lx3, it’s the same width but not a pain in the rear brand to deal with and install.
Thread: "3 across car seats"
I am a car seat technician- What specific vehicle do you have? Does your toddler have the Graco Slimfit with the spinning cupholders (a 19” wide seat with a misleading name) or the Slimfit3 LX (the truly narrow model, under 17” wide)? In nearly every sedan, you’ll need to grab the Slimfit3 LX or another ultra-narrow seat to make it work. Those extra 2.5” really matter! Most infant car seats are already quite narrow. Key here will be seats with an easy seatbelt install for the base - installing with latch positions the two outer car seats closer to the middle seat, which doesn’t usually leave space for that third seat. So you’ll need to install all the seats with the seatbelt which will allow you to position the two outer car seats as close to the doors as possible rather than infringing on that center seat. Some infant seats with the easiest seatbelt installs for their bases are- Britax Willow line; Graco Snugride Snugfit line; Clek Liing, Chicco Keyfit 35 (mildly harder but still decent); and the Diono LiteClik XT or RXT(Not the LiteClik30 R).

I don’t know why Britax isn’t more mentioned. The Poplar S has all the best safety features and is slim for smaller cars. So easy to install too
Thread: "Difference between expensive infant seats and less expensive infant seats"
One of most affordable seats in Finland is a Britax infant seat (topic of this post) with a 3 point harness. But of course there are differences in pricing in different countries, maybe I should've clarified where in the EU I'm located
