Thread: "New parent question: Are stroller over $500 really worth it? Is a more expensive stroller always better?"
Whether it’s worth it depends a lot on your situation. If you live in a city where you walk most places, or if you’re sure you’re having more kids, an expensive stroller becomes more helpful. But if you’re taking the stroller out for a few hours on the weekend, it’s probably less essential. I had my first in NYC; I put hundreds of miles on my uppababy minu. It’s still in great condition for my second. I live in the suburbs now, and most of my friends have cheaper strollers that work really well for going out on the weekend. I can tell the difference between how the strollers handle, but if you’re not using it every day, it doesn’t really matter.
Thread: "Don’t get the uppababy vista stroller if you plan on using it for two"
I like the Vista. I feel like it’s important to make the distinction that the Vista excels at being someone’s only stroller that either lives in a walkable city or an area that allows a lot of walking around. For parents who plan on using the Vista as their only stroller and are going to be packing it up into the car frequently, it’s not the stroller they should get. I say that as a proud Vista owner. My husband and I were gifted a Minu at our shower - the stroller we asked for - knowing we would use the Minu as our daily driver. The Minu has been wonderful. One handed folding, easy to pop the car seat or bassinet into. Lightweight, and small footprint so maneuvering around stores is easy. The Vista is our home stroller. We use it on our long walks. The shocks are so much better than the Minu and the seat is a lot more comfortable for our now toddler. If we do have another, we plan on using it as a double, so Vista was our choice. I would feel less positively about the Vista if I didn’t have my Minu to fit in the spot for taking it to stores and traveling. I agree the Vista is not right for some, but it’s great for others. It’s worth it for every parent to try them out before deciding on one versus the other.
Thread: "Confused by strollers, what do you recommend?"
There’s definitely an overwhelming amount of options… You can definitely do a combo one that’s the car seat and stroller like the Doona. I think this is best for people who live in big cities or travel a lot. I personally don’t think they’re worth it.. you gotta buy a new car seat and stroller when they get bigger. You could get a bigger, travel system which is a good deal. Something like an UPPABaby vista or a mockingbird for a more budget friendly option with a car seat adapter is very nice. These also usually have options for a bassinet or an infant insert so you don’t always have to use the car seat! They’re very nice strollers with lots of storage, high weight limits, lots of accessories and can really last you a long time. The downside is they are pricey and often very heavy/take up a lot of trunk space! Another option is a travel stroller. Many people use these for every day!! There’s many options these days.. some top ones are the Zoe line, Buggaboo Butterfly, UPPAbaby Minu.. there’s many more. These sometimes can be used with a car seat, are often under 20 pounds, fold compactly, are great for toddlers, great for travel, more budget friendly! Downsides are often not best for infants unless it’s one with a car seat adapter, have less storage and not as many bells and whistles. So.. I chose 2. I went with the Mockingbird which is so nice and we love it. It’s great for babies with all the attachments. Worked with our Chico Key fit car seat and is a nice push! Adjustable handle bar was nice since my husband is a lot taller than me. But it’s really heavy for my small frame and took up my whole SUV trunk. So I also got the Zoe Tour. It’s also amazing!! It’s 13 pounds, folds flat, takes up a fraction of my trunk, great for travel and my toddler loves the snack tray and being able to sit fully upright. I keep that one in the trunk and the Mockingbird in the garage for walks. Lastly, check out The Stroller Mom on Instagram or YouTube! She does full videos comparing strollers and doing in-depth reviews of the most popular brands! That’s how I picked my two!! Good luck!
Thread: "What's the best stroller for me?"
I think I've read everything there is to read on the internet about strollers. I've finally made peace with the idea of getting three different strollers to fit our various needs. We bought the Evenflo Shyft Dualride (like the Doona better higher safety ratings) to work for when she's an infant and we're just running out for some quick errands. We bought the Silver Cross Wave 3 to live in our garage. We have two dogs that go for two walks a day and we plan to continue that so we want a good stroller for walks that works for all ages. We're hoping to have two fairly close in age so we wanted a single to double stroller. Our third stroller will probably be the Minu v3. It's a travel stroller that can be used at birth. This one will live in the car and be used for longer errands when I maybe wouldn't want her in a carseat the whole time. We're also hoping to go on a vacation at the end of parental leave so we wanted a travel stroller. In your case, since you want just one jack of all trades single stroller I would recommend that Uppababy Cruz. It's like the Vista, which all of my friends have and love, but not as bulky and is a single stroller. I would also get the bassinet so it can be used from birth and it's sleep safe certified so you can use it on it's own. Great to take with you if you go visit someone. I watched a comparison video of the Nuna bassinet versus the Uppababy vista v3 bassinet and the Uppababy one looked so much better to me. It was also lighter. If you have a store by you I would suggest trying it out in person. The maneuverability of the Uppababy Vista over the Nuna Demi Next was also better. I don't think I tried the Cruz since I was looking for a double. Alternatively the reviews on the Minue v3 look good so even though it's a travel stroller it might be a good fit even for every day use. Another option may be the stokke yoyo 3. My friend in NYC said that's what everyone there has as their every day stroller and it was a close toss up for between that and the Minu v3. I'm likely choosing the Minu v3 of the yoyo because you have to buy a lot of accessories for the yoyo3 to make it work right off the bat. I would be more inclined to do that if it was going to be my only stroller. I read some advice from someone else this morning regarding strollers and they said to just decide and then don't look any more and don't second guess yourself. So once you decide I would suggest that as well. I've found the stroller decision to be the most overwhelming personally.
Thread: "Parents who don't bring their full-size stroller to the airport: why?"
I’ve flown with my 3yo daughter on 27 flights, gate checking our Uppababy Minu stroller and it’s been totally fine. But I’m not seeing anyone say the best advantage of having a stroller: skipping the security line! We live near one of the biggest airports in the world and the security can take forever. But if you have a stroller you get to skip all that nonsense and go in a special line. My daughter only uses the stroller at the airport and it’s all because I love skipping the line. 😂
Thread: "Any parents using a Travel stroller for everyday use?"
We use the Uppababy Minu V2 as our main (and only) stroller, and it's great! We used it with the bassinet attachment instead of a car seat during the newborn days, but you can get adapters for a lot of different car seats (including Nuna) to use with it. ETA: It's definitely not the smallest stroller, but it's comparable in size to the Nuna TRVL.
Thread: "Will I Regret Not Getting a Bigger Stroller?"
The ONLY reason we went for a Vista instead of a Minu was because we wanted 2 kids and my husband insisted. It’s a neighborhood only stroller for us, and for locally accessible parks and groceries. My in laws ended up gifting it to us, so there’s also that. Postpartum, I went ahead and bought a small, foldable, lightweight stroller with similar weight to the minu. Vista cannot get in to some stores. It’s awful on the subway/bus and I don’t want to be that parent. It’s never going to fly with us. I can actually lift and roll this one on stairs. I use the small one most of the time. I prefer to be nimble.
Thread: "What stroller do you have for everyday use and do you like it?"
Uppababy Vista v2. Love it and have legit used it every day since she was born. I have the Minu for travel and am ambivalent. I would have rather had the Nuna Trvl. I am willing to spend lots on a stroller and car seat based on their daily use.
Thread: "Uppababy Vista vs Minu vs Additional Travel Stroller"
I recently tried both of these out at a local kids store and the person working there pointed out that it’s smart to buy gear for the life you have 99% of the time versus buying for those less frequent uses. From what I know about the Minu, it’s not great on rough terrain so that could be frustrating for you when there’s snow on the ground!
Thread: "Not sure how much to spend on a stroller"
Strollers are something I would probably spend money on, but I'd spend that money on strollers designed for 6 months and beyond; specifically because those strollers will last until they're walking on their own 100% of the time. We currently have two uppababy strollers for our 10 month old. The Ridge V2 (jogger/rough road/parks) and the Minu V2 (compact/for inside stores). When our daughter was an infant, we rocked the Doona, which was amazing as a transportation system, but it was only a mediocre "stroller". Edit: Baby items you will use every day, that either contain or transport the baby, are something you should probably 'splurge' on because it's generally worth it.
Thread: "Do you regret getting an uppababy vista?"
I sort of do because I live in a busy city and the Vista is huge. We use the Minu every day and for travel. The Vista we stopped using regularly once she was around 1.5.
Thread: "Bugaboo pram irritating me - rant"
I have had an uppababy vista for almost 5 years and recently got a second hand bugaboo donkey primarily for use on public transport. They’re both fantastic prams but made for completely different uses. The bugaboos were made primarily for the European market, so heaps of public transport, uneven cobblestone roads etc. not so much putting it in cars. Uppababy was made for the American market when bugaboo was pretty much the only luxury pram brand and it wasn’t really suitable for them. So you will find the uppababy prams tend to be way easier to pack down and fold more compactly, but may not have the same suspension etc as the bugaboo. I think understanding the differences in the foundations in those two main luxury brands really helps make sense of the pros and cons of both. Fwiw, I love my uppababy prams (I also have a minu which i got about 4 years ago) so much and I think that may be more what you’re looking for. But they’re not for everyone so I would ask in local baby groups and the online uppababy groups if they have a similarly aged pram that they would swap. My minu I can fold one handed and the vista I can fold two handed but in one step (if its forward facing)
Thread: "Uppababy Minu V3 as the main stroller"
It depends on your lifestyle. If you are a car to door person, a Vista is not necessary and a Minu will do just fine. I own both in the V2 version. A lot of Vista regret is from people who did not factor in their lifestyle before the purchase. I live in a walkable downtown area in a high rise with elevators and walked everywhere -play group, child play space, library etc. I never had to fold the stroller or put it in the trunk. Just wheeled the thing everywhere and it’s a tank. The Minu V2 is excellent for vacations especially now that our child is older. The minu V3 is newborn compatible too.
Thread: "Best lightweight baby strollers for NYC?"
We have the uppababy minu v2 and I think it’s the perfect city stroller. Feels substantial and not flimsy, but also light enough to carry up subway stairs. Has attachments for a bassinet, car seat, etc.
Thread: "Can someone de-influence me from the Uppababy Stroller?"
FTM, my baby is almost 5 months old. We bought the Vista V2. Absolutely love it. We also bought the Minu V2 for $250 off of FB marketplace. I love love both. If you can find it used, do!
Thread: "UB Minu V3 worth it? Is there a better alternative?"
FWIW, last weekend we went to Nordstrom and tried all of the top-ranking travel strollers and decided we liked the Minu V3 best. We currently have a Cruz V2 as our main stroller. Part of the deciding factor was how easy is it to fold and pick up while holding baby. The other big thing was how comfy is it to carry down a jet bridge etc. lots of the other strollers had hard parts stabbing my hubby on the carry. We also liked that the snap-in mechanism for baby was the same as what were used to. The super extra bonus is the travel bag that gives an extra year of warranty and they appear to overnight a replacement stroller (search reddit for stories) if yours gets destroyed in transit in the travel bag. So, is it worth it? Depends on your conditions and how much you plan to travel. There are strollers that are smaller and lighter, but we're sticking with this brand.
Thread: "Thoughts on Graco Modes Travel System vs. UppaBaby Vista/Cruz?"
I live in Toronto and use the Cruz. It really is a great stroller- like Mercedes Benz level suspension. I’m not sure about the Graco but we have a graco swing and high chair and they are both really nice and well made but maybe have a bit dated looking designs even though they are new. I have no idea about their strollers. I am eyeing their 4 ever car seat. I will say that sometimes I wish I had gotten a high quality travel stroller. I really like the look of the new Bugaboo Butterfly but I know a lot of people who have used the more affordable Uppababy Minu with the mesa. I think we probably could have gotten by with a stroller like that for most months of the year. That said, I don’t really take it loutside in the snow and rain because I’m afraid of damaging my Uppababy… kind of ironic since I bought it to do exactly that! I would also add that uppababy’s customer service is unmatched! We had an issue with the car seat and I emailed them asking how to fix it (the bar was stuck) and they sent me a brand new upgraded one with the merino wool fabric. All they asked me to do is send a video and they sent a new one overnight rush. I was sooo impressed!
Thread: "Uppababy Minu V3 or Nuna TRVL LX for everyday stroller?"
I’d go with the Minu. We have both (long story) and the Trvl hasn’t held up well. Besides, the customer service and repair ability are better with UB.
Thread: "What stroller do you have for everyday use and do you like it?"
Uppa baby minu. Compact but sturdy enough and easy to maneuver.
Thread: "Thule Urban Glide 3 with Bassinet as only stroller? "
Can you get a smaller Uppa like the Cruz or Minu? I find my jogger to be too cumbersome to be my primary stroller. It takes up my entire trunk and it’s pretty heavy.
Thread: "Uppa baby Minu V2 stroller"
I have the Vista too. I went to look at 2nd strollers and absolutely loved the Minu… But for travel it did not fold down as small as I wanted. I ended up going with Joolz aer and I love it. If I was just keeping the Minu around the house or in my car it would be great. Now with a second baby I’m realizing it would also be nice to have the Minu to snap in the car seat or bassinet, however that phase is fairly short lived. It’s nice to try the strollers in person. The basket size, canopy reach, folding, and handlebar height varies on all of them.
Thread: "Is the uppa baby stroller worth it?"
I’ve used the minu with my daughter, only like 400$, and its been AMAZING. So lightweight, smooth, convenient.
Thread: "Stroller help"
You can find a stroller that has a bassinet attachment (like the Uppababy vista) or find a stroller that’s suitable from birth (like the Minu v3) - I had/have these and absolutely love them. To answer your question though, you’d have to share which stroller you have!
Thread: "Best lightweight baby strollers for NYC?"
Parent of 2 in Manhattan here. My friends who have tried to make it work with just a lightweight stroller like the above definitely complain about it ALL the time. I would recommend the Uppababy Cruz (with Minu as a travel stroller). Unless you are planning on having babies closer than 2.5 years apart, in which case the Vista is better (Cruz works great for two with the rollerboard). If you live in a neighborhood where you need to take the train a lot, maybe you need a travel stroller as your main. But the tradeoff of having those janky tiny wheels on bumpy Manhattan sidewalks is just not worth it IMO. And trust me, when it's snowing, you want something sturdy. My first baby HATED being in a stroller until we switched to the Cruz, and the suspension was just so much better she stopped fussing and would nap in it. We live in a walk-up but we talked to the super about storing on the ground floor (folded) and he was ok with it. We just carry the Cruz up and down the 8 steps on our stoop and it works fine. We never take it on the train, we usually will walk if a destination is within 2 miles, if it's further we just use a baby carrier. Before having kids I was horrified at the "giant" strollers I saw parents pushing around like tanks (and the parents who told me you can't get by with just one stroller), but now I totally get it.
Thread: "What do I get with luxury/expensive strollers (uppababy, Nuna) over affordable ones (Chicco, Graco)"
I bought a used Vista and love it. It handles so smoothly, it feels so sturdy. I think it will last forever. It makes me take our baby out for walks more often. Graco and Evenflo now just feel rickety, the tires get beaten up fast. If you're wanting to get a lot of use out of a stroller, I'd get a good one, doesn't have to be Uppababy, doesn't have to be new. Any reason you'd pick the Cruz over the Minu? You mentioned public transport--if we had that here, I'd want lightweight as possible! Just spoke to another mom with a Minu in the park, it looked like a comfy ride.
Thread: "Will I Regret Not Getting a Bigger Stroller?"
It’s a personal choice that really depends on your preference and your lifestyle. I have a Vista and a Minu and while there are circumstances where I’m very happy to have the Minu, I generally prefer the Vista and am glad we have that as a primary stroller. My toddler is usually out of the apartment and on the go with his nanny most of the day, and I know she appreciates having ample room for the diaper bag and lots of other random stuff that they take out (umbrella, rain guard, toys, travel potty). That said, if we’re going to a restaurant, on the subway, on the bus, or another small space, I tend to avoid bringing the Vista. I think I’ve folded the Vista maybe once in the last 3 years.
Thread: "Choosing the best stroller, what do you wish you'd known earlier?"
Big congrats!! Try a few and see what you can lift and fold without thinking, especially with one hand. Orbit Baby comes with a rotating seat that's really practical but some people prefer something simpler like Minu or Baby Jogger. Best of luck!
Thread: "Bugaboo Butterfly 2 vs. Uppababy Minu V3"
If you have access to a Nordstrom I’d highly recommend trying them in person. They’re both great strollers but something might just speak to you for one over the other. My husband just liked how the handlebar on the Bugaboo felt so that was the tiebreaker! But there might be something different for you.
Thread: "Our Uppababy vista 2 arrived today. As a frugal and over-thinker, I am having second thoughts. "
I second this. We absolutely love our Vista 2. I am lucky to have a car with a fairly large trunk so the space isn’t terrible. It does come out with us quite a bit. My mom actually got the UppaBaby Minu which has been great. We borrow it all the time for day trips when we know we’ll need the trunk space.
Thread: "Anyone considering the new uppababy minu v3 for a newborn?"
The articles I’ve seen have said the V3 will still be compatible with car seats with an adapter
Thread: "Travel Stroller - Analysis Paralysis"
We love our travel stroller. It’s our main everyday bc folding it is so easy. The UB Minu v1. Considering the V3 once it’s out. It doesn’t meet your price but it’s so smooth and sturdy. Underbasket storage isn’t huge but I learned to pack efficiently. We’ve flown and cruised with it a bunch. Fits in the overhead bin - we’ve always used the branded backpack. There are probably Minu V2s on sale, which are almost exactly the same. Edit: we also have the Zoe travel version which is basically a Minu dupe. It’s held up extremely well and the brake is a little sticky but otherwise we love it. We keep it at my sister’s house in FL and it’s our main Disney stroller.
Thread: "Recommendations for a lie-flat infant stroller?"
The UPPAbaby Minu V3 is somewhat lighter than other UPPAbaby models, and it was our first stroller. But after two months, it still felt too heavy for daily use, so we ended up selling it on Marketplace. We switched to the Mamazing Air Lux Bassinet Ver. It's much lighter and more convenient than our old one, the included car seat adapters fit our Nuna infant seat perfectly.
Thread: "Travel Stroller Hell "
We have an Uppababy Minu2 that fits this description but it’s closer to $400 I think. And I don’t know about the adapters, we never used it with our infant seat.
Thread: "trying to choose a stroller/travel system and totally overwhelmed :c"
My wife is the one who did all the research on strollers, and we had wayyyy too many strollers for different applications (most second hand from fb marketplace) That being said, the fav combo is the uppababy infant seat, mini stroller, full size stroller, bassinet, and 2x infant seat base. It works well for us, traveling(flying) with the mini is easy, and we have the skateboard attachment and 2nd seat for the full stroller.
Thread: "Uppababy Minu V3 or Nuna TRVL LX for everyday stroller?"
Then I’d lean towards the Minu V3 1) fits in overhead bin so a true travel stroller 2) UPPAbaby’s customer service is way better than Nuna’s
Thread: "Can someone de-influence me from the Uppababy Stroller?"
We have the Uppababy Minu and a secondhand BOB from FB marketplace. We use the BOB wayyy more often. The UB Minu is great as a travel stroller - very easy to fold and lightweight but for walks around the neighborhood and park, the BOB is way better. I think it depends on what your needs are!
Thread: "Will I Regret Not Getting a Bigger Stroller?"
The only thing I’d say is if your minu is still in the box you might want to exchange it for the newly released V3 which is amazing, much easier folding, lighter, big basket—seems to have the best of the joolz aer and bugaboo butterfly in one
Thread: "UB Minu V3 worth it? Is there a better alternative?"
Also have the Vista V3 and went with the Minu V3 for travel. Love everything about it. Worth it for me, although I did purposefully buy it before the price increases. Love the easy fold, super light, basket is big for its size, and the travel bag warranty is incomparable. Haven’t had to use it but I’ve heard UB customer service is outstanding.
Thread: "UB Minu V3 worth it? Is there a better alternative?"
Was looking at the Minu. Ended up more interested in the Joolz AER 2, the Stokke Yoyo3 (at anniversary sale pricing at Nordstroms right now) and the Bombi Bebee v2. Ordered the Bombi, hopefully it works. I have a Vista and it was very expensive and is my daily driver, but I don't really use it with the car seat I just put my baby in the stroller seat, so compatibility isn't a huge need for me. The Bombi checks every box I want but that price difference will involve some tradeoffs I'm sure.
Thread: "Minu v2 vs minu v3"
We have the Minu V2, the Uppababy aria and then the Cruz v2 and the bassinet. I never used the bassinet with the minu v2, although I think I would have if we didn’t have the Cruz for local stuff, but I’d definitely recommend the minu v2! The new one also looks nice but it wasn’t available when we were buying. It works well as long as you’re on sidewalks or paved roads and folds up small in the trunk and is pretty light. For travel, bringing the bassinet would kind of defeat the purpose of having a small stroller. It’s bulky and my baby didn’t tolerate it after 3/4 months anyway. I would ecommend using the car seat instead for air travel since you’ll likely have to bring that anyway. It’s held up well so far (baby is 11months). Since we have the Cruz (and a running stroller) we use those for walks/ hikes around our neighborhood and leave the minu in our car/ use for travel. We bought the travel bags for the car seat and stroller and thought those were worth it for the peace of mind if something happens (we’ve flown 6x so far and haven’t had issues, we also find it easier not to bring to the gate and just check the stroller/ car seat and baby wear through TSA). We’d buy it again. If you have other questions let me know!
Thread: "Strollers - what did you wish you knew before you bought?"
Same here! We got the Uppababy Ridge because we knew we’d be doing a lot of walks with the dog, who likes to play in the field. I ended up with a c section and couldn’t lift the Ridge into the car for a long time without pain so we got the Minu as well and I’m SO glad we did. It’s small and perfect for going into stores. It lives in my the car unless I’m driving somewhere for a walk.

Thread: "Do you regret getting an uppababy vista?"
I got it with the idea of having two who would need a stroller at the same time. I didn’t realize how much extra the extra seats and extenders were (which obviously is on me for not looking into it enough). But now my son is 2 and I’m not pregnant yet, so he will probably be 3 before another is born and I don’t know how much he’s going to want to sit in a stroller at that point?

When are you due? Minu v3 supposedly coming in Q1. Key advantage over v2 is that v3 will meet official airplane overhead compartment specs, if you anticipate flying much. Our first is due in Jan so we’ll probably miss out. Man, it’s weird to know all this info that meant nothing to me even a couple months ago.
Thread: "Lightweight stroller suggestions?"
We used the Uppababy Minu and the [attachment](https://uppababy.com/ca/product/minu-adapters-mesa-bassinet/) to clip in the Mesa Car Seat. Once the baby's better with supporting her head you can change it back to the original seat. It's pretty light and designed to be a travel stroller, but as mum is also quite petite, we decided to go with it as our only stroller. It [folds](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lAIbDWGWXo) pretty easily with one hand, but you probably need a free hand to unfold it.

Live in NYC. Walk and use public transit constantly. Had an older uppababy gluxe (2012) but it recently broke. 5 years of hard use! Got a newer model 2016. Bought lightly used on craigslist for $150. It’s super sturdy, reclines for naps, huge sunshade and will standup when folded. Can use reclined for 3 month old babies. Not so good - small basket, slightly heavier 13-14 lbs. I’d suggest looking at uppababy glite or maclaren mark II. No recline or heavy seat padding but lighter - good if you have a toddler or older. I see lots of parents with ultra compact strollers: GB pockit stroller - folds incredibly small Babyzen yoyo stroller - but out of your price range. Hope this helps!
