Tommee Tippee Bottles

I used them for both of my kids and loved them bc they went from boob to bottle and back with no issues. Maybe the nipple was just old or something and allowed more flow? bc the size 1s didn't dispense milk without actually being sucked upon for us - at least it was that was up until a few years ago. Idk if they changed or something... sorry that happened to you!

Nah, used bottles are *usually* terrible. They just aren’t designed to be used for more than one baby. You’re lucky the Avent bottles worked, bc I couldn’t even use them for any of my subsequent babies. I love them, but I always had to buy new ones. And the nipples only last a month or two before you’re supposed to replace them. Those are for sure not meant to be handed down. I didn’t like the TT bottles bc they unscrew too easily, but I think your issues with it might just be that you need to get a new one.

We love our Tommee Tippee bottles and have never had any issues going between bottle and boob.

Switch to a different bottle! The shape of Tommee Tippee isn’t ergonomic, especially for babies with feeding challenges. Dr Brown’s is a classic for a reason: most babies do well with it. Try Dr Brown’s.

I bought alllll the Mam bottles/sizes/nipples/pacifiers, and had everything completely ready to go. Nope. Cool, I also bought allll the Tommee Tippee shit as back up, also ready to go. Nope. My kid only used the Dr. Brown narrow we got in an Amazon gift box , or Similac box, or something stupid. So, ran out grabbed just a couple more… hoping to transition back into the (embarrassing amount) bottles I had planned, nope again. I admitted defeat and just bought more (pink) Dr. Browns, but she will only use the Tommee Tippee pacifiers.

Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature with the slowest flow test. Baby is 4 weeks old and took to them straight away

I used them for both of mine and never had any issues! But I also got new ones for the second child, I definitely don't think the teats are meant to last as I had to replace them with both. I did have some leaks but that was more mum brain error then anything else

Same here, loved TT bottles. Switched between breastfeeding and expressing no problem. My baby did choke a little when we switched from teat 2 to 3 and we had to change back for a few more weeks. He still uses one for his bottle of milk in the evening as a toddler.

Tomee tippee bottles are THE WORST. They pretty much drowned my baby and gave him a bottle aversion. Get pidgeon. I honestly think all the reviews are fake on the website.

We got mam because we'd heard this, but my babies latch on mam bottles was awful, and it affected his latch on me. He does much better with TT bottles.

We use tommee tippee and really like them. Our baby had no problem switching between the bottles and being breastfed. We started with the anticolic ones but switched to the naturals when we sized up. The anti colic ones had a lot of parts to clean, and we found no difference in spitting up between the two types. A lot will probably just depend on what your baby likes. Some babies are picky about it, and some don't really seem to care.

Our daughter literally took whatever we gave her. We initially registered for Tommee Tippee bottles but my husband and I hated the design. Her face always looked super smushed against the nipple and there was about 1/2 oz of formula left at the bottom that we could never feed her due to the bottle/nipple shape. We ended up switching to Dr Browns and have had zero issues, apart from the little parts and what a pain in the ass they are to clean 😂

I think it’s user error. Only had that issue when i was moving too fast and didn’t assemble properly.

We are using the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature with size 1 teat and they work for our baby. We use them with breastmilk and formula milk and I still breastfeed in between and baby doesn't seem confused. We had bought the MAM too and baby wouldn't use them at all, ended up buying more tommee tippee to have in rotation

Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature is my ebf baby’s favorite. Both their pacifiers and bottles are the only ones she takes.

Another vote for MAM, none of mine (mostly bf) would take a tt bottle as the teat is a totally different shape to a human nipple. There were other problems with them as well, I honestly don’t know how they’re so popular, I found them terrible. And once you’ve found one that accidentally rolled under a car seat and the milk went manky, you really appreciate being able to take the bottom off and clean everything properly. Or maybe that’s just me.

I went from Tommee Tippee to Pigeon as well. My baby really struggled with it at first. She’s 6 months now and uses both of them; has no problem with the TT bottles anymore. I felt like the flow of the TT bottle was way too fast for my newborn.

Tomee tippee brand is the worst. The nipples started degrading and caving in after less than a week and we wasted .5-1 oz per feed. We tried dr browns and Phillips avent and my LO loves and uses them both. Much sturdier and you get every drop.

Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature and Lansinoh are tied for #1 with our little guy. The Boon Nursh bottles were close but a bit too fast for him having a tongue tie and tethered lip

Never used tommee tippee but we paced feed and Dr Browns worked well. My gripe was that it leaked a lot however so we recently switched to Lansinoh and are happy.

I used the same tommee tippee bottles with both babies and they never leaked! And my second will only take tommee tippee and refuses everything else. I did change the nipples between kids though so maybe try that if you want to give it another shot? Or just say fuck it and toss them and go back to avent.

Agreed! We really love the Tommee Tippees and LO took to them quickly! When she started needing more formula, we just got the bigger versions. They're also so much easier to wash than some of the other brands. Four reasonably-sized parts total, including the protective cap FTW 👍🏻

I used tommee tipped with my first child and loved them. good quality, good flow, easy to transition from nursing to bottle. I plan on using them with my next baby (I'm 25 weeks)

Used to use Phillips avent anti colic bottles and the size 1 nipple was too slow for our lil guy and size 2 was way too fast. Switched to Tommee tippee anti colic bottles and the ones with anti colic nipples and have had no issues! He has a better latch and can control the flow with their size 0 and 1 nipples just fine.

We tried 5 different bottles before LO took the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature.

Having used both, I prefer mam. The anti-colic tommee tippee are fiddly with more parts to clean. There’s also parts that are harder to scrub. The normal tommee tippee are fine enough, but again have a lip that you really have to angle in to get clean. Mam are all anti-colic, the sterilise in the microwave thing is really convenient and I like that all the parts come away from each other to clean properly.

We use the Tommee Tippee anti colic bottles. We tried NUK with our two but they didn’t like the pre-shaped teat, even though they both used/use the NUK dummies. We combifeed with formula though rather than pumped milk and it’s only 1 bottle a day

If you have a lot of breast tissue near your areola like I do my baby loves the Tommee Tippee anti-colic. They don’t pass the triangle test but I tried bottles that do (Dr. Brown, Avent, Pigeon, Nuk) and he wouldn’t drink from them. The silicone ones are my favorite

Girl, there is no bottle in the world that is worth this level of irritation. I swear by Tommy tippee products since my babies love them, but these ones are not for you. You are not failing if you pitch them and find something else. You’re a new mom, you don’t have time to try to figure out how to do things the so-called right way. Let them go.

Absolutely agree with you. The lid doesn't screw on properly and it just drips everywhere while feeding

My first would drink out of anything, but the tommee tippee (anti colic one w the stem) bottles were the only ones that seemed to make a difference in spit up. My second was the most finicky baby in the world about what bottle she liked, and after trying what felt like EVERYTHING I just grabbed a pack of the regular ole parents choice ones that are like $1 a piece—and those became the only ones she’d take. It’s a gamble, and all babies are different.

Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature bottles have worked well for both of my boys. They are easy to maintain, too. The more parts there are, the more parts you have to hand-wash — TT bottles only have 3. My babies both hated Comotomo, which is a shame because they were very expensive compared to TT.

Buy some bottles just to have in case. I had some nano bebe bottles and tommee tippee. We bottle fed for the first 2-3 weeks because baby had to stay in hospital for a few days and then my milk took about a week to come in, so I was pumping and giving baby formula until I could produce enough milk and switch to fully breastfeeding. I didn't need the bottles any more but they were invaluable to have in the house as one less thing to have to order/go get. If it would be easy for you to get some bottles quickly then you might prefer to wait and see.

we only tried tommee tippee and never had any issues. i went in prepared to have to try multiple bottles but we never needed to. every baby is different though so always prepare for anything haha

Tommee tippie closer to nature. My baby refused all others. We like them too...easy to clean, no leaks, breastfed baby transitioned well when I went back to work. I also got lucky and found all of the ones I have at Marshall's for much less than online!

Second this! The Tommee Tippee bottles are fab and through Amazon the different size teats aren’t expensive (or as we’ve taken to calling them, the Tippee Nippees)
