Pros (+)

Cons (−)
- Large size makes it hard to maneuver indoors
- Some find it difficult to push compared to competitors
- Not ideal for tight spaces like cafes or stores
Why parents like it
Parents appreciate the stroller's ability to handle gravel, dirt, and snow with ease. The smooth ride and compatibility with a bassinet make it a favorite for outdoor activities.
Common complaints
The size of the stroller can make it challenging to navigate in grocery stores or cafes. A few parents also find it difficult to push compared to other models, like the Bumbleride Era.
Parents who enjoy jogging or outdoor activities and need a stroller that can handle rough terrain. The tradeoff is that it may not be the best choice for navigating crowded spaces.
The Thule Urban Glide 2 is ideal for active families, though its size can be a hassle in urban settings.

Thread: "Strollers - what did you wish you knew before you bought?"
I knew we would want to do a lot with our kid and wasn’t sure if I should get one stroller to “do it all” or multiple with specific purposes in mind. We ended up getting two, one small super lightweight and one large jogging stroller and I’m so glad we did. The lightweight Nuna Trvl is perfect for the grocery store, coffee shop, mall etc and our jogger (Thule urban glide) is amazing for all our outdoor trips, walks in the park, etc. Instead of having one middle ground, I’m so glad we have two very different options that work for our specific wants. Also we got both on sale so it worked out. The urban glide 2 we got at an REI garage sale for only $280!
Thread: "Please share any recommendations for a travel stroller ? "
We’ve done a fair amount of traveling and I’ve never had to worry about a stroller fitting in an overhead bin. When you get to your gate, talk to the flight attendant at the desk and they will give you the appropriate gate check tag. Once you get to the actual door of the plane, someone will take the stroller for you and it will be waiting for you in that same area when you land. Even on tiny “puddle-jumper” flights on a 6 passenger plane, I’ve never had to worry about how my stroller is stored on a flight. That said, I LOVE our Yoyo. It’s so easy to fold up, it’s about the size of a large messenger bag, and it’s sturdy and smooth and gets over much rougher terrain than the cheap umbrella stroller we used previously for travel. It’s so great it’s surpassed our big fancy stroller and it’s now the one we use everyday. Our other stroller is a Thule Glide jogging stroller and I’ve only dragged that out to use a handful of times since we got the yoyo, it’s just so much more convenient! I still use the Thule for like, going to the country fair when we’ll be walking around a field all day, but the yoyo became our everyday stroller as soon as we got it. In hindsight, I wish i’d gotten the yoyo from the beginning, and a wagon style stroller instead of the Thule.
Thread: "Best jogging stroller or other equipment you can use during training to help bring the little ones along?"
We have a Thule chariot, which is both a running stroller and a bike / ski cart. Our daughter has been training with us since she was 5 months old. She’s almost 1.5 years old now and has bikes over 2000 km with us (including some serious climbs such as Mt Ventoux and Alpe Huez).
Thread: "Best jogging stroller that could also be an everyday one? Good with trails also!"
We have the Thule Urban Glide (single and double) and love it! Hubby and I are both runners and it’s such a smooth ride. Even the double. I think paid ~$750 for it in 2020. Edit to add: $750 for the single
Thread: "jogging stroller/buggy - is it worth it?"
So worth it for me! Some of my LO's best midday naps are jogging naps... I get a run in, she gets a good snooze in. Also the stroller I have (Thule Urban Glide) is a very smooth ride, even just for trail walks. It does great in all terrain, including snow. I use it every day.
Thread: "Best jogging stroller or other equipment you can use during training to help bring the little ones along?"
I loved my Thule urban glide jogging stroller! Bring snacks and toys. I used a pacifier clip or carabiner to attach toys to the stroller. Be prepared to make stops to give more snacks, wipe a nose, look at something cool. My kid hasn’t been in a stroller for a while, but those were fun times. And pushing the stroller definitely helps with running gains.
Thread: "What (realistically priced) strollers are good these days?"
Got my Thule Urban Glide 2 (I live near a lot of gravel trails) for $125 including the car seat adapter! Like $800 new
Thread: "Help picking a stroller that can handle a prairie winter,"
I’ve got the Thule urban glide, I live on a farm and do a lot of walking off-pavement and in snow. It’s been great. You can get a car seat attachment for an infant car seat for the young stages.
Thread: "Strollers - what did you wish you knew before you bought?"
Whatever set up you end up with, I’d recommend buying a rain cover as it completely blocks out all wind, rain and snow which allows you to still get outside and fresh air when the weather is crummy. For me it feels so good to get out of the house and not have any barriers to do so. I have the Thule urban glide 3, which is a very smooth ride if you live in a place with variable terrain. For me the full size stroller was fine because we barely ever load it into the car given we live in a small town with high walk ability.
Thread: "Do I need a jogging stroller for winter?"
Edmontonian here, love, love, loved my Thule. Super great for winter. I actually had 3 strollers for my first; Thule for outside, winter and wide open spaces, a high end "umbrella" style stroller for indoor tight spaces, West Edmonton Mall, stores, farmer's markets, etc, and a super light cheapie for travelling. Thule got the most use. This one, we won't be attending indoor craft sales, hitting stores, malls or the Science center, (thanks Covid!) so I suspect the Thule will still get the most use.
Thread: "Are bugaboo strollers worth the hype? [BC]"
Yes. They don’t get nearly the level of uptake uppababy does, for some reason. I personally prefer Nuna over both, having had all three. ~~But, where in Canada are you? Somewhere with snowy winters? If so, don’t waste your time on a regular stroller. Get a Thule Urbanglide. Make winter irrelevant. Compatible with bassinets etc too.~~
Thread: "Stroller options: jogging stroller for everyday use as well? "
We have the Thule Urban Glide with the infant attachment and we love it! We live in the foothills of a mountain and it is perfect for all terrain! My baby is 10 months so we have taken her on several walks and several runs with it and we always enjoy it! To answer your last question- we have more strollers than we ever thought we were going to have 🤦🏻♀️ but it is completely not necessary. If I were to do it all over, the Thule with infant seat attachment and a travel stroller is all you need. We have the uppababy, Thule, Doona, and now looking for an easily collapsible and condensed stroller for travel. Completely dumb on our part because we didn’t know.
Thread: "Nice, lightweight stroller for daily walks on rough terrain?"
Rough terrain capeable strollers and lightweight strollers don’t overlap. For rough terrain you need really good wheels and suspension, you don’t get that with lightweight travel strollers. A stroller like Bumbleride indie, guava roam, or Thule urban glide weigh about the same as the chicco but will handle on gravel, hills, and bumby sidewalks way way WAY better than your chicco. Bumbleride indie is newborn ready, I don’t know about the others. Any joggingstroller will do better than a standard on bumby terrain. Babytrend jogger is more affordable and weighs a bit less but won’t work til baby is 6 months without a car seat.
Thread: "Baby strollers…is it really worth spending $500?"
With my first, my MIL and her sister got us a Thule running stroller, which is around $500. It was really important to have it. We didn't have a car so I used that stroller for getting groceries and for going everywhere. My husband and I are runners as well, so it's been helpful to have a quality running stroller, both for comfort and for safety. The other day, my husband was running with our older daughter (she's 4) when the stroller was hit by a car. (We live in a large city). The person made a right on a red light and didn't look at the cross walk. She pushed the stroller about 10ft before stopping. It didn't fall over. My daughter was not hurt at all. My husband was livid. So, I know that's kind of an extreme example, but I'd rather have a better quality stroller, especially if it's being used often.
Thread: "Favorite all-terrain stroller?"
we splurged on the Thule and have used that thing nearly daily for 4 years- rain, ice, sidewalks, dirt trails- grass. probably our best baby item purchase
Thread: "Cand you Recommend me: Stroller for Rural / Trail Heavy Area?"
I’m not too far from you! I highly recommend a jogging stroller / something with inflatable tires and a 3-wheel config. We have the Thule Urban Glide 2 and it handles amazing on dirt, gravel, trail, sand, etc. The hand brake is really useful on hills too. Valhalla Pure Outfitters often has one on the floor if you want to try it out. We have an Uppababy Cruz too (we got it secondhand), and while it’s awesome for a lot of things, it doesn’t even compare to the Thule on rough terrain!
Thread: "Bob jogger for everyday stroller???"
So I went through the exact same stroller/carseat struggles and I'll tell you what I learned! I bought a Thule jogging stroller, a Chicco car seat, and the Chicco adapter for the Thule (I imagine it was a similar investment). To your mom's point - yes they do grow out of that infant/bucket seat quickly, but the benefit is that those seats you can click in and out of the car so easily. So if baby falls asleep on the way to the grocery store, you can click out the carseat and click it in the stroller or pop it in the grocery cart. A convertible seat, while cheaper in the long run, does not give you this option. You will be taking baby out and waking them up. Looking back I would 100% still get the bucket seat because of how convenient it was for the time we used it, even if it wasn't a long time. So the Thule (similar to the Bob) is "easy" to fold up but its bulky because its a jogging stroller. I took it in the car with me once before giving up on using it as an everyday stroller. I LOVE it for walks and jogs. It was and is worth the money to me for how great of a walking and jogging stroller it is. But because I didn't like traveling with it, I would either carry the infant bucket seat around in my arms (ouch) or take baby out and babywear depending on the outing. Looking back, I would buy one of those cheap little strollers off amazon that you can click your bucket seat into and folds up small in your car. I think that would've been worth the extra money and arm pain haha. Now that my baby is almost 2, I still use the stroller for walking and jogging in my neighborhood all the time, but when we're out and about, he just walks or we carry him in a hiking backpack. I do have a cheap umbrella stroller but I rarely if ever use it. That's my 2 cents, good luck with your decision!!

Thread: "all terrain stroller for newborn?"
We have the Thule urban glide with the bassinet and would recommend it if your budget allowed. Thule has a newborn insert if you don’t want to get the bassinet. Guava also has an all terrain stroller but I am unfamiliar with it. Hope others chime in with suggestions.
Thread: "Stroller / travel system recommendations"
Baby jogger has some really nice jogging strollers but I don’t know much about the car seats. The Thule urban glide 2 is a really nice ($$$) jogger that has a cover for the storage pouch under the seat if weather protection is your biggest concern.
Thread: "Is the uppa baby stroller worth it?"
Depends on your lifestyle. If you expect to be using it mostly for errands, I think I would choose something less bulky. If you’ll go on lots of walk, it’s absolutely worth it. Outside of very cold or icy days, our stroller gets used at least once per day for 30 min - 1 hour + walks. We have a gravel trail nearby and it handles very well.
Thread: "trying to choose a stroller/travel system and totally overwhelmed :c"
What do you mean about having to attach everything at once for the Grace travel system? You can click your existing newborn bucket seat into it while babe is little, and then use it without the car seat as a regular stroller when they are bigger. I’m not an expect on their strollers but I imagine a Graco stroller would be the easiest being the same brand, as other manufacturers will usually require an adapter of some sort for your car seat. To me the biggest considerations are where you will be using it the most. Will it mostly be in parking lots/indoors, or do you do a lot of travelling? You will want something small and light. If you plan on using it outdoors on bad sidewalks, trails, etc. it’s worth it to get a jogging stroller just to have the maneuverability and sturdiness. We have the Thule Urban Glide 2 and it’s amazing for hikes and off-road use but it’s a tank and sucks to bring into a grocery store or cafe for example. It is also very heavy and takes up the entire trunk in our hatchback. We love it though because it’s worth it to facilitate our outdoor activities, and we just baby wear anywhere it doesn’t fit.
Thread: "What is your honest review of the Graco Nest Travel System? [bc]"
Yes I have the same and same experience. On flat, smooth, ground it was fine (indoor walking track, or used for grocery shopping), anywhere else it was irritating. I used it for 1.5 years daily though, and a family member lent me their Thule urban glide and its night and day how amazing the difference is! I am getting a city select for baby #2 because it has the toddler and bassinet mode. I wish I would have just spent the money on a high quality stroller from the start, because it’s one of my most used items!

Another vote for Thule Urban Glide. It’s being used for my second baby and it’s been great. Easy to steer, wheels are great, carries a good weight. At one point my 4yo was still using it and well over the weight limit. I’ve got the bassinet attachment on it for my second and love it. Baby can sleep while I go on walks and it’s a smooth ride

This is the way. Bought the urban glide 2 - best investment ever - now training time is family time as I bring the wife along so mostly its recovery/z2 for me with the stroller.

Agreed! I adore the Urban Glide 2 and think of it as one of the best pieces of baby equipment I had gotten. Handles so well through anything.
Thread: "Best jogging strollers from actual stroller parents?"
We have a Thule Urban Glide. It's done reasonably well for us so far as a jogging stroller locked and as a general purpose stroller unlocked. It's got a lot of storage. It also had an attachment for our infant carrier so we could use it as a general purpose stroller for pre-jogging stroller age. Some cons: Expensive. With the wheel locked forward it holds a line so firmly it's actually sort of hard to turn; I generally lock the wheel back instead which isn't what they recommend but works better for me. The plastic where the parking brake slips on / off is sorta cheaply made and has warped over time so it's gotten hard to take the parking brake back off sometimes.
Thread: "Stroller / travel system recommendations"
The bob and Thule urban glide 2 are both great all terrain jogging strollers. You can get attachments for both to make them work with a variety of infant car seats. We got the Thule and have loved it.
Thread: "Strollers - what did you wish you knew before you bought?"
What you are planning and what your baby wants is completely different. We got the Nuna Mixx and it felt like a waste initially cause we were always pushing an empty stroller around with her worn on me. We live in a neighborhood with rough terrain so wanted one with big wheels and suspensions. At one year old she finally could sit for 10 minutes in the stroller without fussing. Then we caved and bought a second travel stroller because our primary one was heavy and massive and felt too big for trips to the mall/grocery. And proceeded to purchase a third Thule chariot for bike trips. It really depends on your lifestyle, but if your aren’t planning on daily long stroller walks, you could probably swing babywearing for the first couple of months.
Thread: "Are expensive strollers worth it?"
Depends on your lifestyle. We walk every single day and we do a lot of stroller runs too. We have the Thule Urban Glide 2 and it's the best thing ever. If you're a couch potato you can get a cheap stroller probably lol
Thread: "Best off-road jogging stroller?"
Can’t comment on the Ridge. Knowing the brand, I’m sure it’s very nice, but BOB and Thule have long been considered the leaders in the jogging stroller category. I have both the Alterrain Pro and the Urban Glide 2. Weird, I know, but I bought the Thule used, intending to leave a stroller at the grandparents’ for when they watch my daughter. Then I discovered I liked keeping them both around for different reasons. Alterrain Pro: * better suspension — smoother ride on rougher terrain * wider seat and foot rest area — My kid is 99th percentile at 2, so about the size of an average 4-year-old. It looks like she’ll be more comfortable, longer in the Alterrain. * much better parent organizer — Deep enough for tall water bottles, etc. My water bottle tips over in the Thule organizer. Also room for 2 bottles vs. 1 on the Thule and the Velcro compartment has more space for phones, sunglasses, etc. * wider range of seat angles — Alterrain goes much more upright. I think this is the main thing Thule updated in the Urban Glide 3 because many reviews I’ve seen have said older kids didn’t like the recline of the seat in the 2. My kid has never complained about it for whatever that’s worth. Urban Glide 2: * noticeably lighter — 25 lbs. vs. Alterrain’s 31 lbs. * better glide — Frankly, a much more enjoyable stroller for people who actually plan to jog/run with it. Not a big deal at walking pace. * folds much thinner and wheels come off easier for travel — Takes up less space in the trunk. * more accessible storage under seat — The Alterrain doesn’t have much clearance between the bottom of the seat and the top of the basket, so it’s weirdly difficult to get larger things in and out when the child is in the seat. * 45° valve on front tire — It’s easier to connect a standard bike pump. You have to bend the stem on the Alterrain to attach most pumps. * much better handbrake — It’s a twist mechanism so if you hold it going down hill, it naturally applies more resistance the stepper the incline. The Alterrain brake is flat out terrible. Too big for most hands and requires way too much force to squeeze. They went back to a simpler, bicycle-style brake on the Wayfinder from what I’ve seen. TLDR: Both are really well-built strollers. I tend to prefer the BOB for walking when I prioritize my kid’s comfort. I reserve the Thule for running when I care more about pushing a stroller with less weight and better glide. Many of the drawbacks I’ve noted have been addressed in the Urban Glide 3 and Wayfinder. Wirecutter hasn’t reviewed the 3 yet. They [still list the Urban Glide 2 as their best overall pick](https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-jogging-strollers/) but say the Wayfinder is better for rougher terrain, which may be most important to you.
Thread: "Best stroller for solely running?"
I’m leaning towards the glide as well (instead of the urban glide) it seems like one I keep seeing that is specifically meant for running vs being more versatile for every day use
Thread: "Question for city parents - do you absolutely need a jogging stroller?"
As someone who doesn't have a kid yet but hopefully soon - is there any reason to not use a jogging stroller as a regular stroller to avoiding buying more than one?
Thread: "Best jogging stroller or other equipment you can use during training to help bring the little ones along?"
This is a much better choice than the BOB. The lower centre of gravity makes a huge difference. Also it’s fully enclosed which helps in rain/snow, the infant sling is way more comfortable to nap in during the early months, and being able to bike/ski is the kicker. I had both and they’re not even in the same league.
Thread: "Choosing the best stroller, what do you wish you'd known earlier?"
I appreciate this comment so much! We’re getting a ton of stuff second hand (even car seats from very trusted people), and I put the Thule jogging stroller on my registry and instantly felt bad about it. But we live in a super hilly, not sidewalk friendly neighborhood, next to a 1200 acre park we walk in all the time, so I know it’s the right choice. But it felt so weird to say!
Thread: "What stroller do you have for everyday use and do you like it?"
We have two, a Thule urban glide and an UPPAbaby Cruz. Both I got used on OfferUp for 100 and 275 respectively. LOVE the Thule, it's just a little clunky but our neighborhood has crap sidewalks and it's honestly so much better than the cruz for that. For smooth surfaces, I do love the Cruz and it folds down so nicely that we use it when we travel by plane. But I would not have paid retail price for either one, they're both absurdly expensive. If I were to go back and do it again I'd probably get a thule spring or a bob revolution flex... Both of these seem versatile and still are pretty compact.
Thread: "Stroller Running - Thule Urban Glide vs Glide 2 for speed & parkrun/races?"
Urban glide 2 double here. I can comfortably run at tempo with it, with two kids, on the flat. I also take it out on the gravel on weekend long runs.
Thread: "What stroller do you have for everyday use and do you like it?"
I have the Thule Urban Glide. I live in a small town with uneven footpaths and sometimes no footpaths. So it’s perfect for my needs as I’m out walking every morning. But if you’re someone who needs something more compact/ live in a city then I wouldn’t recommend.
Thread: "stroller for serious running"
I was given a new Thule Urban Glide in a baby shower and we ended up selling it and buying a BOB after seeing other people using them. Here's the issue. The Thule is a beautiful machine but the way the seat is configured, your kid is lying back and looking at the sky. In the BOB, they can sit up properly and see in front of them. Our kid HATED being so reclined, so unless they were literally sleeping, it was useless.
Thread: "Advice for running with a stroller?"
I’ve been running for 10ish years on and off and have 3 kids so here is my advice: Spend money on a legit running stroller, like BOB/Thule etc. it will make a world of difference. Do not beat yourself up about your pace. My stroller miles are consistently 2-3 mins slower than non stroller miles with the same amount of effort. Things like straps to hold pacifiers, cups, snack cups make a difference so when your kiddo starts throwing stuff you don’t have to constantly stop to retrieve. One hand, two hand, right hand, (blue hand?), just do whatever feels comfortable. I run mainly with my right hand pushing but will switch to left occasionally, and use two hands when going uphill. Like another user said, make it an outing, run to a park, coffee shop, wherever. We have a little public farm 3.5 miles from our house and it’s a great place to run to, stop and let the kids explore, and run home. Schedule schemedule the kiddo will sleep while you run, don’t plan your life around that, if you feel like going for a run throw that baby in and go. Also if baby is incredibly fussy I solemnly swear by the water or fresh air method, either will work to calm them down and sometimes us moms need the run/walk to calm down too. Your body is different now, every baby I’ve had I’ve had to meet this new body that I have too. What used to be hard may be easy and what used to be easy may be hard. Give yourself loads of grace.

Thread: "jogging stroller/buggy - is it worth it?"
Second the Thule Urban Glide! We’ve used it since my daughter was a newborn in the bassinet setting for long walks and now into the running now that her neck is strong enough. My husband and I both run with her and it’s a dream to push. We use a baby carrier for short walks/hikes and when grocery shopping or to cafe runs. Any movement and she usually drops off to sleep.
Thread: "Jogging stroller- worth it?"
We have a Thule Urban Glide jogging stroller and we absolutely love it! Easy to maneuver, not too bulky, good storage, can be used with an adaptor for newborns (just not for jogging). I was on the fence for a while because of the price, but overall I’m so glad we chose to buy it.
Thread: "[bc] Stroller Help! Uppababy vs Thule, Urban vs All Terrain, Three versus Four wheels"
I have the Thule urban glide 2 and have been extremely happy with it. I didn’t purchase the bassinet attachment but there is one, and there are multiple car seat adapters for different brands of infant car seats. In my the car seat the baby will be facing you and not forward. There is a plastic window in the sunshade so that you can see the baby when forward facing. The recline on the seat isn’t completely flat so you would need either the bassinet, car seat adapter or infant insert to be able to use the stroller with a newborn. It is quite large and bulky in the trunk but it does fold easily but the tires are easy to come off if you need space. I mainly use it on gravel trails but also use it in my backyard with a variety of terrains and it handles well. I also jog with it and it’s been great. You may be able to find a new glide 2 for 200-300 less than the newly released glide 3. Unfortunately that means that it’s difficult to find any specific new accessories (bumper bar, cup holders etc) for the glide 2 right now. I find that used thule glides often come with at least the weather covers in my area and you might be able to find a deal that way, especially if it will be mainly used for your farm and like others have suggested getting a smaller stroller for travel/car.
