Phillips Avent glass bottles

Phillips Avent glass bottles are designed for feeding infants with a natural flow nipple that mimics breastfeeding. Made from durable glass, these bottles are intended to be a safer alternative to plastic options.

Pros (+)

  • Glass material feels safer than plastic
  • Natural flow nipples help with breastfeeding transition
  • Easy to clean and sterilize

Cons (βˆ’)

  • Some bottles leak during use
  • Nipples may collapse unexpectedly
  • Not all babies will accept them

Why parents like it

Many parents appreciate the glass material, feeling it is safer than plastic. The natural flow nipples are praised for helping breastfed babies transition to bottle feeding.

Common complaints

A significant number of parents report leaking issues with the bottles, which can be frustrating during feedings. Additionally, some have experienced problems with the nipples collapsing during use.

Best for

Parents who prioritize a glass feeding option and want a natural flow for their breastfed baby. However, be prepared for possible leaks and nipple problems.

Bottom line

Consider these bottles if you prefer glass, but be aware of potential leaking and nipple issues.

Also just FYI on baby bottles the lead is in the paint on outside of the glass. Not in the glass or inside where the milk goes. And many of them have small amounts of lead within federally regulated limits. All that said I use the Phillips advent (was found to have small amounts of lead in the paint) because I like the natural flow nipples.

From what I saw online, that bottle (plastic based at least?) is tricky to assemble. The nipple (is that the word?) has to go thru the plastic ring far enough. This is shown in manuals as well. The colic valve has to align with the dent in the plastic ring.

Phillips Avent glass bottles with natural flow nipples. Never had any issues! Only wanted glass so this was really the only option.

Thread: "Baby bottles glass vs plastic"

I used the Phillips advent glass bottles cause heating plastic just felt weird. The only time they broke was from adults dropping them, not him. But he preferred us holding and feeding him, he never really took to holding the bottle himself (maybe because he was primarily breastfeeding). So we never had an issue with him throwing and breaking the bottles.

We use Chicco bottles! It’s actually the only ones my baby will take. The lansinoh and mam nipples fit on them too if your baby prefers either of those
