Nuna Triv Next

The Nuna Triv Next is a lightweight, compact stroller designed for easy maneuverability and convenience. It features a one-hand fold, compatibility with Nuna car seats, and a parent-facing option.

Pros (+)

  • Lightweight and easy to maneuver in tight spaces
  • Compact fold makes it travel-friendly
  • Parent-facing option enhances bonding

Cons (−)

  • Struggles on bumpy or uneven surfaces
  • Can feel wobbly under heavier loads
  • Not the best choice for suburban lifestyles

Why parents like it

Parents praise its compact size and lightweight build, making it ideal for city living and travel. The one-hand fold and ability to parent-face are also frequently highlighted as major benefits.

Common complaints

Some parents find it less durable on bumpy roads, especially in suburban areas. A few have noted that it can feel wobbly and may not be suitable for all terrains.

Best for

Ideal for city dwellers who prioritize lightweight and compact design for errands and travel. The tradeoff is that it may not be the best fit for parents needing a more robust stroller for varied terrains.

Bottom line

The Nuna Triv Next is a solid choice for parents seeking a compact stroller, but it may not hold up well on rough surfaces.

Thread: "Strollers - what did you wish you knew before you bought?"

I knew we would want to do a lot with our kid and wasn’t sure if I should get one stroller to “do it all” or multiple with specific purposes in mind. We ended up getting two, one small super lightweight and one large jogging stroller and I’m so glad we did. The lightweight Nuna Trvl is perfect for the grocery store, coffee shop, mall etc and our jogger (Thule urban glide) is amazing for all our outdoor trips, walks in the park, etc. Instead of having one middle ground, I’m so glad we have two very different options that work for our specific wants. Also we got both on sale so it worked out. The urban glide 2 we got at an REI garage sale for only $280!

Uppababy Vista v2. Love it and have legit used it every day since she was born. I have the Minu for travel and am ambivalent. I would have rather had the Nuna Trvl. I am willing to spend lots on a stroller and car seat based on their daily use.

I have the Nuna pipa rx and the triv stroller. The pipa urbn did not have all the safety features I wanted, as another user mentioned above. Would really only get it if you plan to take Ubers/taxis etc. I also tested the trvl stroller in store along with the triv and mixx. The trvl, while very lightweight and easily collapsible, did not have the option to rear face when using the stroller seat (you can rear face the car seat though). It also felt very flimsy, as though a strong breeze could knock it over. The triv could rear face, it was only about 5 lbs heavier, and it collapsed just as easily. I preferred it over the mixx which was very large and much heavier. Overall, if you are just using it in your own car to go about your town, I wouldn’t recommend this system, but I would recommend other products in the Nuna line. We paid $400 for the pipa rx and $700 for the triv stroller. For reference

Thread: "Nuna triv vs. Uppababy Cruz"

My friend and I had the same debate between the two. Eventually I went with the Cruz and my friend went with the Triv. I liked the durability, extra storage space, and ease of standing up while folded. Triv can stand up too but takes more effort with locking the front wheels. My friend liked the faster fold and it being lighter. Also the magnetic Nuna buckle is so much better when they use the regular stroller seat. You should definitely go to Nordstrom or Bloomingdale’s and test it out in person. Took me a few visits to finally decide.

Get the Triv. Its got the compact footprint and ease of the travel and the comfort and features of the mixx. We love ours and all our friends with the Vista and other full size strollers always comment on how much more convenient ours is compared to theirs...right before they go out and buy a second more compact stroller.

Thread: "New parent question: Are stroller over $500 really worth it? Is a more expensive stroller always better?"

It has been for us. We have the Nuna Triv. A friend and I had our babies in the same month. She got a highly rated but cheaper option and the wheels stopped working after almost a year. She replaced that stroller. Now that our babies are toddlers she has bought 2 different strollers that are lightweight or compact. At this point she has spent more than what we spent on ours plus the headache of finding a new stroller. Meanwhile we have not outgrown our Nuna and it works just fine in this toddler stage as well. Worth every penny! We plan to have another baby next year and will be using this stroller and just add a standing board for our toddler.

Thread: "Travel Stroller - Analysis Paralysis"

Honestly I think it’s better to invest in a nice lightweight travel stroller than a regular stroller. For instance, we bought the vista v2 and then bought the nuns Trvl for travel and we NEVER use the vista anymore…. It’s so clunky and heavy. If we are running quick errands it’s nice to have a super light weight and easy stroller to take anywhere. We love ours. I would invest in a nicer lightweight stroller and then get a cheaper graco regular stroller

I went with the Nuna triv pipa urban system. I chose it because of how compact and light it is. Fits in my car easily, the car seat doesn’t need a base. I also live in an apartment so folding it up and taking it up and down stairs is doable because it’s super light

I was gonna say this as well....Chicco is great, my SIL has it since her first was born and now she has 3 kiddos total ages 8, 6 and 2 and that Chicco bravo is still going strong....we ended up getting a nuna trvl lx + nuna urbn but almost were gonna get the chico. The only pros of nuna urbn is that it's lighter to carry and that you don't any base to install it and the nuna trvl lx is one hand collapse and a good mix btwn a travel stroller and an everyday stroller in terms of size. I would not get uppababy, their models are so clunky and hard to maneuver. If you have the budget I would go with nuna over uppababy but Chicco is always still a good option

We have the mixx next + pipa lite rx combo and have been happy with it. I agree with you about the urbn, I just can’t imagine clicking the seat in every time, it would drive me crazy. I’d bite the bullet and buy the bases, and maybe try to find them used. I wound up getting our second base handed down by a coworker Just curious, why triv vs. mixx? Iirc the triv was sort of a mid size one that isn’t small enough to be super portable but also lacks the comfortable ride of the bigger stroller. We wound up going mixx next and also bought a bugaboo butterfly for travel We did not seriously consider the uppababy stuff, only because my wife is frenemies with a woman who is an uppababy truther lol! I think they’re great looking albeit maybe a little big and clunky, I feel like they may be sort of over engineered but there’s obviously benefits to being that comfy and tank like

Thread: "Nuna TRIV next vs MIXX next"

It's so hard to imagine what you'll need and how you'll use it, especially as a FTM! I'm on the hunt for YouTube videos of real people using either option. I saw one this past weekend of someone who had the MIXX and although they loved it, they had an interesting perspective on the bassinet mode which was something I thought I really wanted. They said that their baby was really just too small (which was like 7 pounds so not that small) to really use it and have baby look comfortable. That is a really nice feature, but realistically, ALL bassinets or bassinet "modes" are a very short-term use scenario. I liked that this video was of a REAL person using it and that they gave 3 pros and 3 cons for their real usage. As for the basket, I read a review somewhere (Nordstrom's I think?) that said it was a lot bigger than it looks in person and they're able to fit an Away carry on (something) in it. As someone who currently only goes out with wallet, phone, and keys, that's not a huge priority for me right now, so I think I can live with a smaller basket. Other reviews were saying the TRIV does just fine in grass and light gravel roads. I've seen people recommend it from city/urban life to suburban life. Another piece of advice I saw in I think it was a Magic Beans video was to live/purchase for the now. I'm finding myself getting caught up in the what-ifs and wanting everything to last for the entirety of my baby's life and maybe even the next one's lol! That's not to say just impulsively buy things, but just do the best you can and make the best decisions you can with the information you have. Some of those decisions won't work out, and that's ok. There's no way for us to predict our future needs, and we definitely don't know what our baby is going to like lol! Somehow we've all made it to this point with our parents using far inferior equipment to what we have today haha! I can't imagine what we're going to be saying when we're grandparents and the new-fangled technology they'll come out with in 30 years. Overall, I think people sleep on the TRIV because they either go full MIXX or TRVL. Thanks for listening to my TED talk and helping me process as well lol!

I have the triv next and love love love it!! Our first baby is now 7 months old. I was thinking about getting a double as well when deciding. I ultimately decided to focus on getting a single stroller. It took us two years to get pregnant with our first and I didn’t want to “jinx” anything by getting a double and I just wanted to focus on this baby. If I know myself well enough, by the time we have a second kid, there will be a bigger and better and fancier double stroller out there that I’ll want.

So I have a Nuna trvl and an Uppababy Cruz v2. The Nuna Trvl is okay and I do like it, but I LOVE the Cruz v2. I feel like it’s sturdier than the Nuna, and handles more of my bs. Lol I bought the UB myself after 3 months, realizing my baby LOVES being outside. I wish I had just got this one from the beginning with the bassinet (or even the Nuna Triv or Mixx Next). But, I think that it’s something you don’t know until you have the baby and they like what they like. With that said, I bought a Momcozy and a different brand (one of those 3-in-1s) secondhand before I bought the UB. I needed something in a pinch bc my LO just wanted to be outside. Both of those were nice and would have worked, but I hated folded them so I just left them in the garage and hated getting them in and out of the car. They also didn’t work with my Nuna Pipa (which I do love). So for me, the UB was worth it. We’ll be traveling with the Nuna Trvl next month.

I’m amazed how quickly we get in and out of places with our 2 month old. We use the bassinet for longer walks, botanical gardens, dinners out, and for sleeping at home when hanging on our back deck and as a travel crib. Love our Nuna system so much

From what I’ve heard and read, it’s better to get a true double stroller (or even a wagon) down the road vs getting the Demi or Vista for your first baby 🤷🏽‍♀️ we also plan for 2.5-3 years between kids so I don’t see value in lugging that big stroller around for the next few years.

We have a nuna trvl and a chicco corso LE. Car systems are about the same, but the chicco is SOOO much sturdier and I think the chicco system was about $500. The nuna travel system was around 800ish? Two fold. I love nuna for travels. So easy to fold, light weight. Therefore, makes the chicco bulky but sturdy. I take nuna for NYC subway rides. And the car seat is 10/10 worth it. I take chicco to the pumpkin patches and the tulip patches. My husband is 6’3” and stronger than me, he LOVES the chicco and thinks the nuna will fall part of it gets yanked too fast lmao. Honestly, if I ever do this again, I’d probably do the same, one and one. If space allows. Nowadays we spend so much time finding “one” but there’s nothing wrong with two!! Also- the chicco is bulky and husbands preference so he keeps it in his car!

I have the triv next as my only stroller, I live in a rural area and it doesn’t go on the bumpy roads. I use it only for paved sidewalks and trails, grocery stores, coffee shops, etc. I really love that it’s easy to maneuver, doesn’t feel flimsy and is light enough for me to manage on my own. It takes up about half of my Mazda cx 5 trunk. If you are a big trail walker, you’ll probably want a Bob as a secondary stroller which you can get second hand easily. Overall I’ve loved ours, I’ve treated it pretty rough the past year and it’s still working great.

I don’t think the Cruz is in the same category, it’s not an easy fold or lightweight by any means. I looked at the dragonfly and the salesperson at the store actually talked me out of it. The folding mechanism is a bit weird. I ended up going with the Nuna Triv Next, which is super easy to use. I saw they have another model now, the Swiv, which can move sideways and looks like it stands on its own. But if I had to carry a stroller up 4 flight of stairs I would go with something like a Minu or Joolz Aer that’s way more lightweight. Try to go to a store where you can test them out in person. We’re in a suburban area so we mainly use it for walking around the neighborhood or trips to the zoo, etc. it doesn’t feel flimsy and it’s so easy to use. Especially freshly PP I was grateful it was easy for me to collapse and put in my trunk. We do have the bassinet and I don’t think it’s necessary, but it’s nice to have depending on your lifestyle. I love to walk outside. I had my baby in early May and the bassinet has been great for morning walks because it’s been warm in the mornings and the car seat attachment just gets sooooo hot in warm weather. It’s basically insulated. She’s much more comfortable in the bassinet. If I had my baby at a cooler time of year then I would probably skip it.

I love my Triv so much — I evangelize about it to everyone. The Triv reclines a lot more than the Cruz, as far as I can tell. That keeps the baby’s torso/legs at a right angle. Also, folding the Triv is so easy a monkey could do it. It is SO user friendly, nice to push, just an all-round excellent purchase.

We went with the Nuna Trio travel system (car seat, stroller, bassinet). Bassinet was a waste of money. We did use it, but honestly not enough. We were rear ended by a woman driving around 30MPH while we were at a full stop. The baby was mostly fine minus some scratches around her neck from the seat. That alone is worth it. The third leg really makes a difference. The stroller has been fine, but it definitely looks worn two years in and several countries traveled to. The Nuna customer service was a HUGE let down. We had a wheel come off and another screw pop off the stroller. Customer service had a bunch of BS about proving the item was purchased within the two year warranty. I had some proof but not enough in their eyes. I think my experience with their customer service would make me more likely to try out the UPPABABY, but my baby was fine after that accident and that is essentially worth all the money and more I put into the travel system.

Hi! I have the Cruz and I just got the triv! I hatedddddd the Cruz, it’s too heavy, folds in two pieces, and the wheels lock at random points?? Also recently one the wheels started randomly coming loose during walks. I got the triv after doing a lot of research and it was the only one that fit my criteria of being non toxic, lightweight, and being able to fold and unfold with one hand while parent facing. I would really recommend it it so light and I can take baby in one hand and stroller in the other and can go for walks every day now. Before just thinking about taking the Cruz out made me break out into a sweat. Also it’s not recommended for baby to sleep in a car seat outside of the car so you can get a carrycot to add to the stroller or have them sleep in the triv reclined. Hope this helps!

I have it, but live more of a suburban lifestyle. I don't like it for my uses. The way it folds is hard to get in the car because it'll start unfolding while you use the carry strap to lift it. The turning is also poor and can only handle smooth roads. I don't find it all that lightweight either... but it's the only stroller I've had so I'm not sure if I just don't like strollers that much 🤷‍♀️

We have the Triv Next. It's great and serves all our purposes. It's a solid midsize option that doesn't feel too big to travel with, but still handles bumps and rougher surfaces well. It's not too heavy for me (relatively small woman with poor upper body strength lol) and the one handed fold is really nice. My only non-trivial complaint is that on our first one, the folding mechanism was always a bit finicky and eventually broke. I suspected something was wrong with it from the beginning but alas. Luckily it was under warranty and Nuna replaced the whole thing and the new one functions perfectly. I've heard this complaint from others on Reddit as well, so I'd just say that if yours feels like the folding mechanism is catching or sometimes giving you trouble, return it for a new one right away. We rented a Doona for a trip and I was SO ANNOYED by it the entire trip and it made me really appreciate the Triv haha.

The Triv Next is our only stroller. I'm very happy we chose it, as it's lightweight and capable without being flimsy. I suppose it could be sturdier, but that will always come with increased weight. I'm a petite woman with not much arm strength and back problems. I find it so easy to fold and put in the trunk of the car. I live in the suburbs and also drive frequently, though will take my baby on daily walks around the neighborhood. The suspension is quite good - not bumpy on standard sidewalks. If I had to nitpick, it'd be that the seat is large for my low percentile baby, so she's not snug in there and it doesn't come with an infant insert. Also when it's super bright out, the part of the canopy that is sheer will let a lot of light onto my baby's face. I also wish the basket were larger. But all in all, it's a fantastic lightweight stroller.

We really liked the TRVL as well. When we had the Vista V2 I was thinking we would need a smaller compact stroller and I had my eye on the TRVL because of how lightweight and easily foldable it is. Now that I plan on getting the Nuna TRIV Next I am hoping we won't need a super compact stroller anytime soon. We do like to hike and go on longer walks, so I agree with the jogging stroller, I've heard BOB makes a really nice jogging stroller. Uppababy also has a nice one, but they are all very big and heavy. Maybe I can snag one second hand (FB marketplace) later on when the baby gets a bit older. Also a lot of my friends that got the bigger heavier strollers like the Demi Next and Vista V2 bought compact strollers like the TRVL for doc's visit and quick errands. They all recommended the Nuna TRVL for anyone in the market looking for a compact stroller. I still felt like I need a main daily driver stroller and thats why we are looking into the Nuna TRIV Next.

We have the Nuna Triv Next and Pipa Rx car seat. I LOVE it so far. It maneuvers well, is relatively light, and feels compact. It’s so easy to use, and I’m pretty small plus still in pain from birth. I also like that we will be able to use the stroller when baby is a toddler too. It was our one splurge for baby and I don’t regret it at all.

The vista was gigantic for us, took up way too much room in the car. We just switched to the triv and are a lot happier. We have a Nuna pipa rx, which can be used with a base or without. Admittedly, we haven’t tried without the base yet.

Thread: "Nuna Triv Next infant recline?"

we have a triv next but we did get the bassinet attachment. the seat goes down pretty far, but it isn't flat. and the straps may not come down far enough for a newborn. our baby is very tall 90%++ for height and the straps were a teency bit too tight when he put him in it around 4 months old because they didn't come down far enough. they started like up by his ears. someone in our playgroup has a babyzen yoyo and they have their baby in it totally flat. that is a travel stroller tho, not sure if that matters

Check out the Nuna TRVL lx, it reclines enough for a newborn, and has bigger wheels for a smoother ride.

I’m looking at the Triv Next too for everyday use. We live in the suburbs and staying lightweight is important. Do you like your Triv Next?

Thread: "Nuna Mixx Next or Triv Next?"

I have the mixx next and use it as my always stroller. I didn’t end up using the lay flat part for a newborn and just used my pipa car seat but we didn’t do long walks when my son was little bc of the temp. It’s not too heavy to take in and out of the car. I picked it over the triv for the better suspension and bigger wheels plus the lay flat option

We have the Nuna Trvl and love it so much! We purchased it with the Urbn car seat which was the absolute best and so easy to use. Both are extremely lightweight and the one handed open and close is so helpful. We’ve used it for almost a year and haven’t had any issues whatsoever.

Thread: "Are Nuna strollers really worth it?"

We bought the Nuna Triv on Bloomingdale’s this week. They are running a promo where you get $25 back for every $100 spent. So we ended up getting $200 back that we’ll use on the Pipa. I heard Nuna has terrible customer service and it definitely worries me. However, all of our friends who have Nuna said they’ve never had to use it so we decided to go for it.

Thread: "Choosing the best stroller, what do you wish you'd known earlier?"

I have the mixx, I was considering the triv but ultimately opted for the sturdier, better suspension and more all terrain one. My logic was I found it to still be easy to fold / load and where we live there are a lot of nature trails, etc and I wanted to be able to take my stroller not just on smooth paths etc. The TRIV next is still a great option and honestly has great maneuverability suspension, etc compared to other strollers. My choice was also based on my environment. I live in a suburban area with lots of trails, etc. If I lived in a more environment , I could definitely have seen myself opting for the TRIV Next. And honestly it seems like it would be adequate in most terrains as well. I personally love being able to easily switch from paved to unpaved, clear curbs easily, push up/down stairs by myself when things are not readily accessible. I DONT fly with my nuna because I’ve heard too many horror stories of damages so I again wasn’t too concerned about it being on the larger end. You probably have done it, but I went in to Nordstrom like 3 different times and had different people show me each model multiple times before I made my final decision lol. It can feel daunting, but I have enjoyed and highly recommend nuna products.

Do you mind sharing which nuna you have? I am just about to purchase one but reading final reviews and psyching myself up to it, lol. Any other thoughts you have on your nuna would be very appreciated, even if a different model! (The one I’m ordering is the triv next)

Thread: "Brooklyn Stroller Recommendation- Doona and Uppababy Vista?"

We just had our first kiddo! We got an uppababy cruz and the nuna trvl lx. The uppababy is our “around BK” stroller- farmer’s market, park, walks, etc. the nuna is our travel/on the subway/bus/going to Manhattan stroller (unless I know the subway stop(s) have an elevator). We haven’t flown with the nuna yet but it collapses well and we got the travel bag for it. We got the bassinet for the uppababy and he also sleeps in that right now. We debated if we wanted both or if we were fine with the nuna only (we also have a nuna car seat) but were (so so fortunately) gifted both strollers so we didn’t have to make the decision. We are glad we have both because they are serving really different purposes.
