Nuna Exec
The Nuna Exec is a convertible car seat designed to accommodate children from birth through booster mode, featuring a 50-pound rear-facing weight limit and an anti-rebound bar for added safety. It includes a leg rest for comfort and is Greenguard Gold certified, ensuring low chemical emissions.
Pros (+)
- Sturdy construction with high safety ratings
- Comfortable leg rest for growing toddlers
- Greenguard Gold certified for low emissions
Cons (−)
- Heavy, making it difficult to move between cars
- Booster mode may not last as long as expected
- High price point compared to other options
Why parents like it
Many parents praise the solid construction and safety certifications of the Nuna Exec. The leg rest feature is also highlighted for providing extra comfort during long car rides.
Common complaints
The weight of the Exec is a common issue, especially for parents who need to lift it frequently. Additionally, some parents are concerned that the booster mode may not last as long as expected.
Parents looking for a long-lasting car seat that prioritizes safety and comfort. Be prepared for a heavier seat that may be cumbersome to move frequently.
The Nuna Exec offers great safety features and comfort, but its weight and price may not suit every family's needs.

Thread: "Time for a toddler car seat--I'm so lost"
Yes, you need to buy a new car seat. The seat limits for height and weight is either OR. So now that she's hit the weight limit, yes she needs a new seat. And unfortunately, there aren't any that have a click in base as a toddler seat, so you'll need one for each vehicle or need to move it each time. What you're looking for is a convertible car seat. These will still be rear facing for a while (which we opt to max out the rear facing limits before turning forward facing) and the limits for weight and height are higher in convertible seats. We also opted for a seat that also eventually converts to a booster seat, so down the line we won't need to get yet another seat. We went with a Nuna Exec, which is on the higher price point, but since he'll be in it for several years, seemed worth the investment. There are lots of convertible car seats on the market though, so you can find one at pretty much any price point. ETA: the swivel ones are nice, but there's only a few that also convert to boosters, so keep that in mind when you are looking.
Thread: "Please just tell me what car seat to buy"
If price isn’t super bothersome, we purchased the Nuna Exec. I honestly love it, although it’s heavy. But I like that it will fit my kiddo until he doesn’t need to be in a booster. And my kiddo is at 97% for height for 2.5.
Thread: "Nuna Exec vs Cybex Calisto G 360"
Edit- Cybex is doing a strap recall of some of their other car seats. The Calisto is NOT included but wanted to mention it. I'm keeping my Calisto, but something to watch for sure! I just went down this rabbit hole and probably spent 3 months trying to figure out what car seat to buy. I wanted to add my comment to this thread because we bought a Nuna Rava, tried the Nuna Revv on vacation and then settled on the Calisto over the Exec due to the rotating and sunshade. Opinions: 1. I saw an Exec in person and it looked amazing. I can't say anything but that. I was heart set on it. It looked like a first class car seat- large and plush. I was all for it, then 2. The Nuna Rava went on sale on PB. We liked it, but I started developing wrist issues again (had De Quervain's develop during late pregnancy that lingered through two cortisol shots postpartum) and I found myself really killing my arms and back lifting my 24lb baby into it. 3. We went to Colorado on vacation and borrowed my in-law's Nuna Revv. We LOVED the turning feature. It something you don't think you need until you try it and then you never want to go back. It was a game changer for both my husband and I. The two things that bothered me on the Revv were that the straps were pretty short- it only goes to 40lbs which is a really low weight- and the straps only pull out so far and at 24lbs she was already seeming tight in it. I had to really pull the strap, yank it, then still bend her arm to get her in. I also thought the install wasn't as tight as it could be. 4. I hemmed and hawed again for weeks and went down the rabbit hole of sites like consumer reports, safe in the seat, etc., and I just couldn't find enough data to sway me one way or another. CR seems to do their own testing, but then they were recommending seats that had recalls and were facing investigations. They didn't even rate the Exec. They also highly rated seats that were blasted by users on other platforms. I finally pulled the trigger on the Cybex Callisto G. The car seat arrived and install was super easy. We put it in my husband's truck as I had a 4+ hour road trip to my parents coming up the following week and I would take his beast of a vehicle. I am obsessed with this car seat. I may even list my Nuna Rava on facebook and grab another Callisto. The turning factor is one handed, goes in both directions, and is super smooth. The fabric is nice- I'm not crazy about the perforations it has (I just see that as another location to trap snacks, vomit, etc.), it looks almost like an athletic mesh? But it seems very breathable. The baby hasn't had a sweaty back yet like she has in her Rava, and it is fully machine washable, which is great. I love the position of the cup holders. On the Rava my 15 month old can't reach them yet, which is a pain in the tush, on the Cybex she can and they remove easily to wash. The two reasons I can't live without this car seat: the sun shade and the length of the straps. Because it's meant to work until the child is in booster height/weight the straps can pull out super far and I am in love. No more having to yank so hard on that center pull strap and then bend my baby's arm into a tight shoulder. These pull out so far they could reach the driver's seat and I am so happy. It makes getting her into it a breeze. Add to that the sun shade, which already saved us on the drive south. I don't know why more manufacturers don't do the sunshades in the convertible seats- it's an amazing feature. I was able to pull it down for her nap post lunch break and it was amazing. I realized how much I missed that in the Rava. I have not tried the app with the Cybex safe seat options. I will probably look into that at some point, just because it can't hurt to have another safety feature in place, but right now it's not necessary. Now that we're trying for baby #2 I realized how crucial that rotating will be as my belly (hopefully) grows. I hope this helps someone!
Thread: "Time for a toddler car seat--I'm so lost"
My response will be simple - you will need a convertible car seat. These do not have bases and they stay put in your car because they are heavy. If you have a second car, you will want to purchase 2 car seats instead of switching back and forth. Your daughter should probably be in the toddler seat of the stroller also. We don’t not live in extreme cold weather, so we just hug/carry my son with a jacket draped over him and then put him in the car seat. If you will be traveling or have grandparents who might have your daughter every once in awhile, you can consider getting a travel car seat (like the Cosco car seat) that is cheap and light weight. For reference - I chose the Nuna Rava for my son. I got it on sale and the price difference between that and the Nuna Exec (which is also a booster) is the same as buying the booster later on and I’d rather have a brand new one lol. I have the Wayb Pico for travel, which is not yet suitable for your daughter since she is still too young.
Thread: "Nuna Rava or Exec"
Why not the Nuna Revv? It rotates which is such an amazing design function!
Thread: "Nuna Rava or Exec"
We love the Rava. Okay, reason to do Rava and not the exec - 6+ years is a really long time for a car seat. They get nasty. I clean ours regularly and the amount of puffs and goop that gets into it is astounding. Personally I don’t want an Exec because when it’s time to transition to a booster I think the thing will have hit its limit. We’ve been using our rava for 1.5 years and I love it. It does wash up well too!
Thread: "Nuna Rava or Exec"
Are you in the US? I’ve never heard of cars with built in booster seats! Way cool.
Thread: "Nuna Exec malfunctioning"
I’d contact Nuna! We have not had this problem, ours was purchased in 2024 though.
Thread: "Overwhelmed trying to pick a convertible car seat!"
Don't do a swivel (not worth it's limitations on either the low weight limit or too large of a seat that takes up too much space). Buy a Nuna Rava or Exec. Probably do the exec because the sides are lower and it's easier to get baby in and out. Exec is 1 or 2 inches bigger. Rava is known to be one of the most compact options out there
Thread: "Nuna Rava or Exec"
We are! I’m not sure of other cars, but all of the Volvo XC90s we looked at had it.
Thread: "What is your favorite All In One Carseat? "
I love my nuna exec, $750 but (hopefully) I'll be using it for like ten years so I feel like it's justified.
Thread: "Nuna exec, rava,revv"
Hi. CPST here. The Rava is fine, the Revv is outrageously expensive to have very very low weight and height limit limits. The Exec is a solid car seat but by the time you really go into booster mode, you more than likely will just use a dedicated high back booster. It is very rare that an all in one seat is truly used for every stage. To be honest, the only ecosystem that matters with any brand is their infant seat and what stroller it is compatible with. There are so many good convertibles on the market so don’t feel like you need to buy a Nuna. I have videos on car seats all over my Instagram and TikTok page. So just let me know if there are questions.
Thread: "Nuna Rava or Exec"
Exec does not rotate. Revv does.
Thread: "Car Seats - Anyone Regret?"
I’ve got one rear facing Nuna infant car seat and two forward facing Nuna Execs all in a row in both the R1T and S. I’m 6 2 and my wife is is 5 8. It works great.
Thread: "Best convertible car seat?"
We have the Nuna Rava and Nuna Exec in mine and my husband’s car, respectively. My mom has the Graco Extend2Fit and while it gets the job, I personally prefer the Rava (technically, the Exec is my favorite, but it’s a pricy one). I also like that the Nuna brand doesn’t spray their car seat with flame retardants. That was really important to me, personally. My nearly 3yo son is also 99th% in height and weight and is still comfortably rear facing in the Rava. He has to bend his legs a bit, but he’d let me know if he was uncomfortable.
Thread: "Nuna Rava or Exec"
I chose the Exec over the Rava because it is an inch slimmer, and because it has the leg rest and a anti rebound bar. I have had it for a couple years now, and love it.
Thread: "Please just tell me what car seat to buy"
We have the Exec too and love it - super easy to install, great quality.
Thread: "Any negative aspect from your NUNA EXEC car seat?"
It’s just not necessary. I had to toss ours after a pee debacle. I replaced it with a graco extend to fit 3 in 1. Easier to install, roomier on the inside but somehow the same length front to back. The buckles feel plasticky and the fabric isn’t quite as plush; but my kiddo hasn’t had any complaints and it was wayyy cheaper. And way easier to clean
Thread: "Nuna Rava, Nuna Revv, Or Nuna Exec?"
Because we had the Pipa infant car seat already that was gifted to us when we were pregnant, and the math made more sense if we got the rava and then a booster when the time came (~$600), versus buying the exec ($700). We got the rava on sale.
Thread: "Nuna Exec malfunctioning"
If you're in the US, report it to the Consumer Product Safety Commission!
Thread: "Nuna exec, rava,revv"
Exec owner here - I would honestly check out some of the Britax car seats over the Exec. PROS - if you are going to find yourself in a situation where you need three across, this will be slim enough to do so. - the recline can be deep on RF, So if your child falls asleep in the seat, their head is not going to flop forward. The head supports on the side are also decent in FF to also prevent the head flop. - the foot rest acts as an anti rebound bar. Personally, I think all rear facing seats should have some sort of anti-rebound bar. Not having an anti-rebound bar is immediately why I wrote off the Rava. IIRC in Europe it has one. CONS - rear facing does not give a lot of room bc it’s so slim. My daughter is quite petite, and when she was rear facing in it I felt like she could never get comfortable. - the straps are supposed to have this magnetic thing where the buckles can attach to on the outside of the seat. The magnets are way too weak, and will not hold the buckles in place. Every single time we would go to put her in it, it was a struggle to dig the straps out from underneath her. They were tangled all the time. - I have noticed almost every single one of my nuna products the pads they put over the straps are way too big. These were no exception. - The seat comes with this fabric cover that is supposed to protect where her feet were on the seat. It was always crumpled up underneath her, and trapped more crumbs than it prevented. - cup holders are a joke. They hold nothing but weird food bits and trash. Additionally, if you were going to have anyone sitting next to the seat, the cupholder is unusable. -install is ok. Definitely easier than my Clek seat, but not as easy as our Britax click tights. - lastly it’s freaking expensive. All of my issues I could probably overlook if it wasn’t $700.
Thread: "Nuna Rava or Exec"
We have the Revv and love it! We love it so much we got one for each car!! But a lot of people don’t want to spend that much for something that won’t last as long. Our rationale was we knew we were having two so when the baby grows out of the pipa, they will go in the revv and we will move the older one to something else.
Thread: "Nuna Exec vs Cybex Calisto G 360"
there are changes coming to the FMVSS standard so you will see A LOT more car seats only going up to 40 RF. The Callisto complies to the new standard. Nuna and others are more likely making updates later this year.

I haven’t tried it yet. But I heard the new has detachable covers that are easier to clean. That might solve your hassle if it’s true.

Another exec vote here- we have three for all three of our kids ages 2-5.

Thread: "Car seat for tall baby?"
Probably already made a choice by now 😅 But I just wanted to chime in for any future readers haha. We got the Rava for my husbands truck an the Exec for our murano. She has been in the 99% since like 4wks and shes 3.5 now. I have to say the Exec has been the best fit, it's grown with her much better than the Rava- its always felt smaller for her.
Thread: "Safest convertible car seat for baby?"
Another Nuna fan here! The Nuna Exec also has a 50lb rear-facing weight limit. We went with the Exec bc of all the great Nuna specs (safety, Greenguard gold certified, simply secure installation system, no added fire retardant chemicals). In addition to all of that, it has a rebound bar/foot rest when forward facing. Also, this seat can convert to a booster for up 120lbs. *Edited to clarify that the adjustable rebound bar functions as such when it's backward facing and it's used as an adjustable leg rest when forward facing.
Thread: "Should I get an infant car seat? "
I bought a cheaper but very highly rated Chicco infant car seat so that we’d have the convenience but wouldn’t feel like we wasted our money if we only got like 6 months out of it. I got a pricier Nuna for our convertible seat since it should last for years. Our baby ended up being small and still fits in his infant seat at 10 months. We will probably switch before 12 months if he starts to look uncomfortable. You can get two bases for an infant seat to make it easier to transfer car to car. My husband is cheap and refused to do that, but he could transfer the base super quick since the Chicco is such an easy install. No regrets, we loved the convenience of buckling him inside (and we live in FL so it was more about heat/sun than cold!) and snapping him into the stroller for quick errands. We still used a bassinet for longer walks and loved that too.
Thread: "What is your favorite All In One Carseat? "
We also have the exec and really like it so far! Will probably get another one for our second kid when the time comes (though I’ll admit we considered one of the rotating ones and I occasionally *slightly* regret not getting one)
Thread: "Infant car seat vs. all in one car seat"
it really depends on what kind of person you are—a homebody or out and about type. I say “homebody” with love because that’s how my husband and i are. We have an infant car seat but could absolutely have gotten by with the all-in-one. My son is 4 months and we are already switching out his infant seat for the nuna exec because it just FEELS sturdier. Full disclosure we order groceries and I can totally see why it’d be good for the grocery store to have the infant seat, but the only times i’ve used it were the doctor and restaurants—both of which I could’ve done without (baby wearing and/or stroller).
Thread: "Nuna Exec. 3 Year review."
If you're within warrenty, i would try to go that route before you take it apart.
Thread: "Best convertible car seat?"
I realize this is an old thread, but I landed on it since I’m searching for car seat recommendations for tall toddlers because we have a Rava in each car and love them EXCEPT my 3yo can barely be buckled in anymore because the harness straps just aren’t long enough despite my toddler being well within the height and weight limits (he’s roughly 42” and low-mid40s for weight). We have maxed out the head adjustment already. We can’t pull the strap to tighten the harness at all because it’s already tight even when it’s fully loosened. Maybe he just has a taller than normal torso for his height. I dunno. He won’t be 4 until late June, so we can’t switch him to a booster seat for several more months. So I caution people with tall kids against getting the Rava, as much as I’ve loved it the past few years.
Thread: "Overwhelmed trying to pick a convertible car seat!"
Awesome thanks! This is helpful. Do you feel like it’s easy to get your kiddo in and out of the rava?
Thread: "Who has Nuna Rava car seat ?"
We are currently using a nuna pipa RX, nuna exec, and nuna rava. AMA lol. We love it btw not much to complain about.
Thread: "Any negative aspect from your NUNA EXEC car seat?"
This. They handled the recall so poorly. 4 month wait for a cleaning kit + new covers and they only come in TWO colors? So if you bought a Dillards or Nordstrom exclusive design/color, sorry suks2suk. Horrible CS service. Also, advising against an All-in-one, because it'll be nassssty by the time they're 3-4 lol
Thread: "Nuna exec, rava,revv"
I’m also curious to the answer on exec vs the others. But I don’t think anyone should travel with any of the Nuna convertible seats. Way too heavy and expensive. Buy a cheaper lighter one for travel only.
Thread: "Nuna Rava vs Nuna Exec"
Honestly neither, and that’s coming from someone who owns a rava. The exec booster mode is not long lasting so you’ll need another booster when it’s time. The rava is great for extended rear facing (because it doesn’t have the 1” rule like other seats so it’ll last longer and it rf to 50 lbs) but my freshly 4 year old has almost outgrown it forward facing because it has a low harness height. So in a few months we’re going to need to buy another harnessed seat because kids aren’t ready for boosters typically until 6/7 years old.
Thread: "Any negative aspect from your NUNA EXEC car seat?"
I love it, cup holders do suck though.
Thread: "Nuna Exec vs Cybex Calisto G 360"
So I am likely going with the Cybex. I love my nuna pipa, but i think Nuna is becoming a bit stagnant as far as innovation goes and seem to just be increasing their price without adding anything new. I follow a CPST on tiktok who often adds lists of her favorite carseats by category (infant carriers, rotating, convertibles) so i left a comment on her most recent post about convertible carseats and she said you cant go wrong with either one. A few other people said they are really loving their callisto and one mentioned the recall on the rava. That recall didnt really make me nervous due to the fact that i was ONLY looking at the exec for longevities sake im not interested in the other options due to the fact that they wont last until my child is ready to be out of a carseat all together. Im not trying to buy more than one carseat. I will say however, the exec has a 10 year expiration i believe (dont quote me on that) so it can be used by multiple kiddos depending on your age gap. Im not going to need a convertible for another 3-4 months so I’m going to check back in with callisto reviews to see how they’re feeling about the longevity of the rotation and the carseat as a whole!
Thread: "Thoughts on the new Nuna Exec Next?"
I just got mine delivered last week — I haven’t taken it out yet as baby isn’t here yet but looking forward to seeing what everyone says as we plan on using the pipa that came with our travel system first
Thread: "Thoughts on the new Nuna Exec Next?"
Keeping an eye on this post because I am wondering the exact same thing! I have spent hours researching and comparing different car seats and despite the price tag, Nuna Exec Next is seemingly the best option for us. What I will say is that if material is important to you, the nuna is one of the only car seats that is greenguard gold certified. There are other competitors that don’t use flame retardants, but do not hold the certification. There is one YouTube video where a woman (destination baby kids)compares both the old exec and the next. While she doesn’t speak on cleaning specifically, the cover in general seems to be more thought out! She also mentions that this version is made with moisture wicking material, meaning less sweaty babies. Additionally the thigh straps many users complained about on the original exec have been removed in the exec next. I really wish there was more information, because we just had our first baby barely five months ago, and she has already outgrown her doona!🙈 She is 99th percentile so I want a car seat that is one and done!
Thread: "Nuna Exec malfunctioning"
Sue them in small claims court if they don't refund you or replace it. I just sued them and won yesterday. They refused any remedy other than their "DIY remedy kit," which is insane. If your husband took the seat apart and cleaned it though, that might have voided your claim.

I actually think it's smaller. It feels that way somehow anyways. I don't think I could fit three ravas in my middle row but I'm pretty confident that I can fit three execs.
Thread: "Safest convertible car seat for baby?"
Oh yeah, the specs say it’s 18.5” wide instead of 19” (rava). I’m more concerned about the length of the seat in rear facing… seems like it’s much longer, but the specs don’t really make sense to me for length bc so much is dependent on how far it’s leaned back, etc. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to respond!
Thread: "Car seats - can you fit three across?"
Three across friendly car seats: - Britax poplar - Graco slimfit 3lx - Diono (all I believe) - Clek (all) - Nuna Exec Make sure the specific seat is compatible with your car. Fx britax poplar doesn’t work with fixed headrests in some cars. Edited for formatting.

We have a Nuna exec at home but we're traveling for the first time with our new diono r3. You need to purchase straps but it can be carried like a backpack. It doesn't fit rear facing in economy on an airplane, but it works rear facing or front facing for cars and it's super easy to install. We like it for what it is. Our big guy fits in it with room to Grow
