Common complaints
Some parents note that ring slings can be less comfortable than structured carriers due to their asymmetrical design. A few also mention that they prefer the weight distribution of other carrier types.
Parents who want a stylish and adjustable carrier for close bonding with their baby. The tradeoff is that it may not provide the same level of comfort as more structured options during extended use.
The Hope & Plum ring sling is a great option for those who prioritize quality and fit, but may not be as comfortable as structured carriers for longer wear.

Thread: "What’s Your Holy Grail Carrier for Babies?"
Not who you asked but to me they are very different. A ring sling IMO is never going to be as comfortable as a SSC (hope & plum or otherwise) because they are by nature asymmetrical and don’t distribute the weight over as much of your body. But they have the advantage of being small and simple and you can get baby in the carrier solo without having to set anything down. Depending on your kiddo, the ring sling may be more of a carry assist than truly hands-free too.
Thread: "Thinking about getting a ring sling. Any recommendations?"
I think a ring sling would be a great option! Definitely not too big for one at 16 lbs. I have carried my toddler in a ring sling very comfortably. I have a Wildbird linen that is okay and I wear mostly around the house. I also have a Hope & Plum one that I love. The quality feels significantly higher and I feel like baby is more secure. If you’re not loving the price, H&P is doing a mystery box sale soon so you can probably score a RS at a lower price point.

I love my hope & plum ring sling. I'm also short 5ft3 and I have their shortest size and it fits great. It does have a learning curve but don't give up and use their fitting service if need be.
Thread: "Ring Slings….WHY IS THIS SO DIFFICULT?!"
I'd recommend trying a Hope and Plum ring sling or simply just visiting their Instagram page for pointers! I had a wildbird and hated it, it was difficult to work with and not soft. But my H&P was so easy and soft💜

Hope & Plum - Best for meh dais, stretchy wraps, structured carriers & ring slings!
