  • Bassinet option is great for newborns
  • Large storage basket for shopping and outings

Cons (−)

  • Click system can become rough over time
  • Stroller may feel bulky for daily transport

Why parents like it

Parents appreciate the ability to use the stroller from birth with the bassinet option and the convenience of a large storage basket for outings. The stroller's adaptability for a second child is also frequently highlighted.

Common complaints

My kids have a 20 month age difference and we got the Baby Jogger City Select 2 Single-to-Double Modular Stroller. We love it. It might not be exactly what you’re looking for because it does need adapters/accessories and was on the pricey side. I tried out the Graco Nest to Go and the Baby Jogger is much easier to steer and feels much more solid. I bought mine on Amazon around a holiday and it was around $250 off so you can find deals. I was a little intimidated by figuring out the attachments, but we figured it out pretty easily on their website. I am a little worried for when my second switches from her car seat to a toddler seat since it will be pricey to get a second seat. In the end, it was worth it for us to get a nicer stroller since I walk with my kids a lot on city streets (uneven, rough, etc.).

I spent 15 seconds of my life trying to swipe the image. We don’t have this set but have another Graco set that all work together. Car seat, jogger with big tires, and portable. Was very affordable relatively. It’s been really versatile for everything from bringing our baby home from the hospital, winter walks, day trips, international travel, car rental etc etc. The click and connect is very convenient and pretty much fool proof.

Click system is really good. Over time it’s gotten a little rougher, but totally works. Sometimes when clicking in, you’re wondering “is it in on both sides?” but it’s obvious when it’s clicked in. Big fan of how far the canopy can extend. It can really effectively offer shade, and allows for good naps. Infant seat is awesome because it goes to 32 Inch height which is a bit taller than some brands. Pretty easy to set up and to adjust. Folding is alright. It’s not difficult at all, but it doesn’t stand once folded which can be frustrating. The toddler seat (or bassinet) needs to be facing outward in order to fold up with the stroller. At 1 year we have a bit of squeakiness in the wheels but to be fair, I often overload the bottom basket with groceries. I love the space in the bottom basket. It’s excellent. Cup holder is a bit useless except for a can of pop or baby bottle. Toddler seat / bassinet is awesome and we love it. Should keep in mind that the bassinet is not for using without the stroller (it collapses). Was so nice not needing these 2 pieces separately because space is limited. One of my fav features is having baby face me, and being able to adjust height (we always set him quite high). I’d definitely buy it again.

I have it for 2 years and like it. The bassinet option is really handy and I love the big basket underneath for shopping. The Infant car seat is also super easy to attach/remove from the car and stroller. If you do buy it, also get a velcro sticker to hold up the mesh window cover at the back. The window is great but the cover fabric doesn't stay up on its own.

Have you looked at the Mockingbird? It’s far less expensive than the UPPABaby. I’m between that and Graco Nest2Grow because infant seat option, bassinet option, and ability to add a second seat are my top priorities.

Thread: "Does anyone regret not getting a single to double stroller?"

I got the Graco nest 2 grow and loved it as a single. We just had our second and holy shit is it hard to push. It’s so heavy and the wheels stick (probably because it’s heavy? It never stuck as a single) and I legit feel like I’m steering an aircraft carrier every time I use it. My toddler is also in the 99th percentile for height, and she’s almost too big for it now that she’s been moved to the bottom. You can move the top seat (which currently has the baby car seat) up and down, but the bottom seat is set in place. I feel like by next summer she will be too big for it, and we’ll probably switch to one of those nice wagons for outings instead. I feel like they’re great in theory, and maybe other brands are better, but unfortunately it’s been just meh as a double. Like it gets the job done but it’s super annoying. If you think your kids will be at least 2 years apart, I’d do a single and eventually get a wagon, or one of those attachable seats that clip onto a regular stroller.

Thread: "Is a double stroller really necessary?"

The graco ready to grow stroller is a double, but can convert to a single seater in front with a standing platform or toddler seat at the back. Can accomodate graco infant car seats in the front or back seat position. Also, the basket underneath is massive! We have this for our 4mo son and 4.5yo girl. She likes to walk, but I'd rather have her stand or sit if we're in crowded areas. We're theme park people too, so loads of long days walking around. It's perfect for her to get a break when she needs it.

We have the graco modes nest stroller and snug ride car seat. We use it everyday. It's nice because it's easy to fold up and the car seat clicks in easily. It also has a basket and cup holder which is nice for shopping and travel to hold all your stuff. It also came with a bassinet which was great when baby was little, he would sleep flat during walks. Now he likes to just sit in the car seat but when he is older and bigger the bassinet turns into a forward facing seat.

I love my Graco Modes Nest. Graco is apparently one of the cheaper brands but I love it and it was a hand me down. The bottom storage is huge which I love. It is smooth to me. I also like that any graco click and connect infant car seats are compatible. I keep it in the car as well as the bassinet/toddler seat but I have an SUV. Idk if both would fit in a sedan trunk

Thread: "Confused by strollers, what do you recommend?"

Second a Graco! We have the modes nest travel system. Infant car seat fits into it and it has a bassinet feature that converts into a chair and grows with them until they no longer need a stroller. It’s lightweight, super easy to open and close, and affordable (originally $399, bought for $299 when target ran a $100 off sale and came with the infant car seat and base). Baby can face you or away from you. The seat slides towards you and away from you on the frame (this is especially nice when baby is small you can bring them all the way to the top and be super close). There’s TONs of storage space under it which most brands lack. You’ll see people recommending newer brands or more expensive ones and if that’s your preference then go for it. I, however, wanted a brand that was reputable and around for a long time as I didn’t want to deal with recalls or issues finding replacement parts if I ever needed them. I also don’t understand the car seat convertible strollers like Doona. They’re expensive, tiny (so short!), heavy especially as baby grows, and don’t grow with baby? Plus you’re always going to be putting dirty wheels in your vehicles seats. A lot of them are very similar you just pay more for the name.

Get the Graco Modes Nest!! I never see it recommended here outside of my recommendations but it’s AMAZING!! I did *weeks* of research and husband and I are both super happy with it! It does have a bassinet feature, but the bassinet turns into the toddler seat. It also has an infant car seat that works as part of the travel system which has been great. Super easy to use, the stroller base folds and unfolds easily, and is really lightweight as well. There’s also an option that has openings for two seats if you plan on expanding your family. The weeks are big enough that some light off-roading isn’t bad at all but it works great on pavement. The floor space it takes up is small enough to bring it into restaurants and pop it on the side of the table while you eat. Just all around living this stroller/travel system. Daughter is 10 weeks old.

I have the Graco nest mode travel system. Not sure how old your baby is, but when mine was still in those first few weeks, we loved that it could turn into a bassinet. Was so easy to click connect the car seat. Now she's 9m and we use the bigger toddler seat. I love that the seat can be facing in or out. Is a little clunky to take in and out of the car, but for the price it gets the job done!

If possible try to see them in person. It’s really hard to figure out how nicely a stroller will wheel by photos/ads! I have the Graco nest modes but it’s the Premier edition. It is hilariously enormous but it’s fantastic - great for walks but not great for storing in the car.

I'm into month 3 of using it. Can't say I love it, maybe 7/10. we got it on sale ($500) so for that price it's really a decent deal. Love the bassinet, no complaints there. The basket is great, I use it for grocery shopping all the time. Infant seat is okay, I find it quite heavy to carry but once you click it into the stroller, it's totally fine. As others mentioned using this on uneven surfaces is not the best. The materials feel a bit cheap, our handle already has bumps and scratches just from loading it in/out of the car. I haven't tried it on trails yet but I don't expect it to be smooth. Luckily my baby doesn't care how bumpy the ride is.

Click and connect for the car seat was amazing. And quite handy to just click it into the stroller if I was going shopping or for a stroll. But for longer bumpier walks it was awful and cheap feeling. We had my toddler sitting upright and randomly it will disconnect back into bassinet mode, like it would recline her seat completely flat. She wouldn't be hurt or anything. But it was a shitty defect we had to deal with.

Look up the Graco Modes Nest2Grow if you like the bassinet option on top. I’m obsessed with mine. I have the Premier version which I’ve heard has much better maneuverability than the original. I don’t have a single complaint about it. I’ve trucked my boys, who are now 3 and 5, on multi-mile walks daily for a few years and it’s still in perfect shape. There’s a great configuration photo on Google, and I want to add that you can 100% use the bassinet on top with the toddler seat facing forward on the bottom even though the photo doesn’t show that as an option.

I have the mockingbird and Graco nest 2 grow. Mockingbird is slightly smaller. Both get the job done, but my favorite is the mockingbird. It steers smoother than the Graco. I love that I can take the second seat off if I’m just taking one kid somewhere. It also handles abuse very well, as I have angrily tossed it into the back of the pick up truck multiple times and it doesn’t even have a scratch. The new models of mocking birds do NOT fall apart, the bar is larger and thicker. If you’re somewhere in the west (preferably Arizona) and you get the mockingbird, you can have my car seat adapter for it, we are doneeee having kids lol fits the Graco seat and other models i believe. Graco is nice, but it’s a heavy sucker. The seats are also more uncomfortable, but the kids don’t seem to mind. It’s not nearly as smooth but it is what it is.

I would say absoulutely yes depending on where you live and frequency of use I live in a city and work from home but walk my little guy to daycare everyday so my gracomodes nest while not a 1000 stroller was def worth the 400 dollar pricetag. Also depends if u plan on using it for multiple kids we are one and done so dropping 1000 one a stroller to be used for one kid wasn’t worth it for me especially after all the attachments needed. I think you should really narrow down what’s really important to you in a stroller. For me and my husband we wanted a stroller that could grow with our son, came with everything, wouldn’t give me anxiety, and wasn’t over $1k. Eventually we settled on the Graco Modes Nest travel system which came with an infant car seat, and the toddler seat turns into a bassinet. Overall we’re happy with it, but we both agree that the more expensive ones feel niiice and have gone back and forth on getting one through marketplace. Well probably stick with this one unless it makes sense to get another one for 2 kids if/when we have another kid. We have no where to store all the attachments we’d want.

My daughters are 2 years apart & I bought a double stroller & it is a saving grace. Try Disney World or the Zoo, & the airport was awesome to not have to worry about keeping track of them. They will be fighting who gets to ride in it when they are tired & crabby, you think your oldest will love to walk while the youngest rides in it….nope…a little jealousy there & they want to sit down. They will have drink holders or else I’m messing with their drinks every 5 minutes. My double stroller converts into stages, Graco I think, where carrier fit in, converts to seat with a belt, converts to a seat for the oldest to sit down on. I’m telling you, you will tell yourself “Dang I’m glad I have a double stroller” more than once.

Right now, it’s on sale for $399.00, and with Prime Deals and Target Deals, you can find it even cheaper! The stroller works great on any terrain—I’ve used it on gravel, grass, and roads, and it’s very smooth. It uses a click system, so the car seat easily clicks into the stroller with one hand. The stroller also folds with the push of a button, and the car seat is simple to install in the car. Assembly was really easy, and the car seat is lighter than most I’ve tried. Plus, when I looked up the safety ratings, it had passed all of them!

To me, it was okay. I really liked the car seat. The stroller was fine for neighborhood walks. Not the smoothest but not completely horrible. I feel like it didn’t hold up super well. It quickly looked worn out. I wouldn’t have felt right donating it after a year/giving it away because of the shape it was in. Maybe we’re just hard on our items though? We knew we wanted more kids, and closer in age, so I wish we would’ve done something different from the start. We’re now expecting our third and probably just going to go straight to a convertible car seat and look into a better stroller (got a graco double stroller and it’s not great either)

It was okay handling when just my first was riding in the top insert, not the smoothest on anything other than perfect concrete though. Once we added my infant up top and put first on the bottom, this thing won’t even move on a grocery store floor. It’s like steering an RV with flat tires. I am so so SO mad we spent so much money on this nightmare of a system. I’d assume the single modes stroller would be better than the grow, but honestly after my experience I would never ever get graco again.

I really like having a pram setting and use that almost exclusively right now. I don’t think I’d want a stroller without a pram mode, even if it had better tires or something. It’s easy to pack in and out of my car and take disassemble/reassemble. We also got a roll bar base for the car seat for my car, and I like that feature a lot. It is pretty big. I wouldn’t want to take it through an airport or a crowded shopping mall. And it’s not made for anything but a sidewalk when it comes to terrain. But I feel like you get what’s advertised.
