Why parents like it

Thread: "how good is Graco 4Ever DLX Grad car seat? or would you recommend us something else? my baby is 6 months old almost 7"
First figure out if you have 1 or 2 children at the moment. If you’re only sure that you have one then the 2nd one is probably a goner. Sorry.

Do you ever anticipate needing to do 3 across? This seat is really wide, so something to consider.

Graco is a very solid brand. I would be confident buying any car seat they make

Extend2fit. My older kid is 6 and armpit height on me. Stayed rear facing in it until 4. Affordable. Easy to install. The 3-in-1 version of it also does high back booster which gets you through most of elementary school but the 2-in-1 is great, cheapest, and easy to find. But both have SO much leg room. We stuck with it for our second kid (3yo) and have it installed in a compact car (Nissan leaf) and a small SUV (Nissan rogue). Was t-boned last year and she barely noticed anything happened. Literally couldn't open the doors and she talked about how "we got bumped a little". Not the 4ever. It's ridiculously expensive and heavy. And by the time you get to low booster you're going to want a new & lightweight seat anyway, and that's if it hasn't expired.

Graco has never let us down, 4 kids later.
Thread: "Considering skipping the infant carseat - are we crazy??"
We went straight to the convertible car seat with my oldest (Graco DLX 4 in 1) and he still uses it (he’ll be 2 in October). Honestly we didn’t miss the use of an infant seat at all. We mostly baby wore him or put him in the bassinet setting of the stroller when we went out. We’ll be doing the same with baby two in Sept. Already bought and installed her Graco convertible seat 👍🏻

We have it and love it. Would definitely recommend.

We’ve had this seat almost 6 years now and just transitioned it to the high back booster for our oldest. Currently own 4 of them for two kids and two very different cars. Zero complaints.

They’re good, get it while it’s on sale.

This seat is one of the lowest price you can go that's still be in the good seats category. If you are fine with spending more, then Nuna rava is very comfy premium seat.
Thread: "how good is Graco 4Ever DLX Grad car seat? or would you recommend us something else? my baby is 6 months old almost 7"
lol. I thought 2 at most. Had one and then twins. Graco 4 ever is a lie. I have back seat full of Dionos.

We have the Graco 4Ever® DLX 4-in-1 Car Seat. We love it. But I’m sure if I went down the rabbit hole, I would have felt overwhelmed with all the choices too. I think this one might have been recommended and then we used a 20% coupon through the website. I can’t remember if it’s Chicco or Graco, but there’s at least one out there that has this slide out leg rest thing that’s supposed to help them stretch out more/stay backwards for longer. You could check that one out. Also, consider seeing what Costco or Sam’s club has. You might be able to find a good deal there too. Best wishes!
Thread: "Car seat recommendations? "
We got the Graco 4ever 4in1 convertible car seat. It lasts 10 years and turns into a booster seat when needed. We used the Uppababy mesa too and my 8 month old looks a lot more comfortable in the Graco now. It doesn’t rotate, while they are convenient, I personally didn’t want one.
Thread: "Do we NEED an infant car seat? "
I personally really like the infant car seat because you can get them all buckled and ready to go while still inside and then they can chill while you finish collecting your diaper bag, putting shoes on, making a to go coffee etc. I actually switched to the 3in1 car seat at around 8 months and then ended up switching back to the infant seat until my baby officially outgrows it because I like it a lot more and baby seems comfier in it.
Thread: "Please help me pick a car seat!"
Highly recommend the SEATS for kids discussion group on FB. There are CPSTs that can offer the best options for your car and family stats. If you have a more compact vehicle, you’ll want to go with the Graco 4Ever, Extend2Fit, or Evertstage. There are a couple Britax that are compact front to back as well but I can never remember the names.

lol, I said none…then just the one. Then, only the 2 and, finally, put a permanent stop after the third because it was clear I could not be trusted.
Thread: "how good is Graco 4Ever DLX Grad car seat? or would you recommend us something else? my baby is 6 months old almost 7"
We have 2 of these and I really like them. I prefer these because of how easy they are to clean compared to the first seats we had. The cover comes off really easily and can go in the washer (on delicate), and the seat itself is easy to wipe down and vacuum out.
Thread: "Safest convertible car seat for baby?"
I read a lot on the Car Crash Detective to decide on a convertible seat for my toddler. Ended up getting the Graco extend2Fit. My runner ups were the Graco 4ever dlx and the evenflo every stage dlx
Thread: "Graco 4ever car seat [on]"
I have this one for my daughter and it’s a great seat. It fits in most cars and works both forward facing and rear facing (and booster I think?). Technically, no, you wouldn’t need an infant car seat on top of that one but infant car seats have their perks of being easy to take in and out of the car, fits on strollers, etc, which is extremely useful when your little one is young.
Thread: "I’m Overwhelmed With Infant Car seats. FTM"
Same, and I didn’t like the idea of my girl being in the infant car seat too long, so that’s why we went with a convertible (Graco 4ever).

I have the Graco and wife has the Nuna. Every time I use the Graco I wish we were taking wife’s car lol.
Thread: "Graco 4ever car seat [on]"
This seat is something you install in your car and it stays in the car. It’s not like the bucket seats where you detach from the base and take out of the vehicle. The one you posted is what they call a convertible seat. You can use it from newborn on. Bucket seats are better in the beginning for taking sleeping baby out of car and into stores without waking them. But not everybody starts with a bucket seat!

Those last 2 kids look like they could have full time jobs at Graco.
Thread: "how good is Graco 4Ever DLX Grad car seat? or would you recommend us something else? my baby is 6 months old almost 7"
I personally remember really liking the britax brand because the Click Tight feature made accurate installation a breeze. This meant that my husband or mom could get a seat installed in their cars the first try and it was a good install. The weight limits for the latch system are pretty low so many more years were spent using a buckle installation the latch install.
Thread: "Which convertible carseat should I get?"
My Graco 4ever kept my 2 year old safe in a *MAJOR* car accident in 2019 (I was hospitalized by comparison). When I reported the accident to our auto insurance, the rep commented that is one of the best seats based on the various reports she’d taken over the years.

Graco extend2fit is the one with the pull out leg thing! It’s awesome. Also, Costco has a graco 4ever on sale in club rigbt now for $199.

Thread: "Car seat crisis"
Regrettably safe is inconvenient at times, that I believe is the same one I used for my little one which he regrettably outgrew very quickly. Its also rated as one of the safest car seats, just make sure to read the manual and adjust it properly and there are holders you can buy to hold the car seat straps out of the way. Life is stressful right now, just take a breath, it will all smooth out. You will get in the swing of it and no matter what all car seats will be a pain in the ass in some fashion. The next car seat I got was this one, [https://www.costco.com/graco-4ever-extend2fit-dlx-4-in-1-car-seat.product.4000053014.html](https://www.costco.com/graco-4ever-extend2fit-dlx-4-in-1-car-seat.product.4000053014.html), keep an eye out it goes on sale like twice a year and in my mind becomes the best value for the money on sale. I want to say I paid like 170$ for mine. Also if you dont have a costco membership its worth it for the baby items, formula will pay for itself an diapers go on sale regularly and while upfront cost is higher its the cheapest in the long run. Just an extra suggestion since I mentioned costco.
Thread: "Graco 4Ever Reviews? [on]"
Can't give the review as we bought the Extend2Fit (and love it) but the gracos were all on sale in May. As far as I've seen they do go on sale regularly.
Thread: "Difference between expensive infant seats and less expensive infant seats"
I recommend visiting Car Seats for the Littles webpage. There’s a lot of safety information there and they also discuss which seats fit best in types of cars. All seats pass the same safety standards, but the safest one is the one that’s installed correctly and fits in your car correctly. We use a britax b-safe infant seat, Graco 4-ever, and a Chicco booster. I like them all and would recommend any of them for the appropriate age. If you have a small car, the Graco 4ever fit correctly in my Mazda 3 rear facing which made it basically a unicorn when I had that car.
Thread: "Graco 4ever Car seat [on]"
My daughter uses this one! She had an infant car seat up until she was almost a year old. I think having an infant car seat is still useful for the first little while because you can click in and out of the car and straight onto the stroller. You’ll find it useful during the beginning when going to a lot of appointments. If you use this 4ever car seat from the get go, it’ll be stationary and you have to wake the baby up each time you get in and out of the car. Hope this helps!
Thread: "Convertible car seat opinions for a small sedan [ON]"
My understanding is that the swivel seats are some of the largest ones on the market. I don't think there's any way you'll fit one in a Corolla. I have a Mazda 3 with a Graco Slimfit in it, that fits well, we have the Graco forever in our other vehicle, it's larger front to back than the Slimfit.

Thread: "Toddler car seat recommendations"
We have the Graco 4ever DLX and it works well, but borrowed a Nuna Rava recently while out of town and boy did it blow me away. It was so easy to get in and secure properly the first time without any of fuss. It’s “simply secure” installation system is just that and quite impressive. It’s pricy, but would buy if I could go back. The Graco 4ever DLX can be a hassle to get tight so it doesn’t slide side to side so not the best for changing cars. Once in, it works very well though and if just leaving in one car, would recommend.
Thread: "I’m Overwhelmed With Infant Car seats. FTM"
So, I did A LOT of research on car seats, it was stressful. We ended up getting the Graco snugride snug lock 35 elite. There are a plethora of reasons why I decided on this for a carrier seat. We used as our pri are seat until probably 7 months. Then it went in our back up car until about 12 months. I also got the Graco 4ever DLX, for many reasons. It is good infant through booster. I actually ordered a second one when the infant seat in the second car was outgrown. Infsnt seats are nice, they can be taken in and out, covered with a cover, not woken up, and the shade allows them darker naps in the car. But once he was done napping a bunch, we moved to the 4ever, its such a nice seat! We also got the city mini gt2 jogger stroller because the Graco infant carseats fit with it.
Thread: "Skipping the infant car seat"
We just skipped the infant seat and went straight to a convertible car seat. We loved it and it worked super well for our family. Both my kids hated the car seat and hated strollers so it worked out in the end. I hated the idea of having to carry a heavy car seat with a heavy kid inside of it everywhere. I would rather just carry them in my arm or babywear. Winter we just had a blanket that we wrapped them up in. Plus it's not safe for the kids to sleep in the carseat when they aren't properly attached to a base. Meaning they need to be taken out of the carseat anyways even if they fall asleep.
Thread: "how good is Graco 4Ever DLX Grad car seat? or would you recommend us something else? my baby is 6 months old almost 7"
Get one with a rotating base, target usually has a special 2x a year where you can trade in your current seat for like 30% off a new one or something. The last one we got with a rotating base was like 180$ after trading the old one, we ended up buying two because of it

Cool! I was just sharing a friend's experience. Something on her Nuna car seat broke, it might have been the anchor clip or something. She reached out to Nuna. Nuna told her that the car seat was still safe to use. It took her almost 3 months for them to acknowledge that the car seat was unsafe for use. After the first month she went out and bought a Graco. Nuna eventually said that they would send her a new one but she would have to pay shipping on the broken car seat which was too much.
Thread: "PSA to new parents: do NOT buy any maxi Cosi stroller"
Our Graco modes 3 in 1 put in work this summer with our baby and our three dogs going on walks every day! We had construction in our neighborhood and there was rocks/debris all over many parts of the sidewalk and my husband used to jokingly warn me to “throw the Graco in 4WD!” No issues with it with daily use, it squeaks a little occasionally but it isn’t super noticeable.
Thread: "Infant car seat vs. all in one car seat"
This. I 100% agree. I had a travel set so I could pop baby right in the stroller when she was asleep and transfer back to the car. I got a four in one gracco seat now and it ways it can go from 4lbs but I think I would have been uncomfortable putting her in it at birth.
Thread: "Skipping the infant car seat"
We skipped it and have 0 regrets. Like you, i wasn’t comfortable exceeding the time guidance, but also i don’t drive, so any errands we do with the car is usually both me and my husband, and one of us just runs in. We really just do a grocery run every 2 weeks, so i think lifestyle plays a huge role in the decision. We got a graco 4ever seat and a used stroller+bassinet (doubles as our downstairs supervised nap space!). We are lucky that ours loves baby wearing, but when he was really little or for pediatrician appts, i just carry him in 🤷♀️
Thread: "Time to Upgrade to a Toddler Car Seat—Need Recommendations"
We have two of the Graco 4ever from Costco in each of your cars. No complaints really.
Thread: "Is the Graco 4ever car seat worth it?"
They might have changed it, but check all the colours. A couple of weeks ago, you could apply coupons to the grey colour only, none of the other colours. BBB often had 20% off coupons, I think you can get one for giving them your email. Makes the seat like $270, which is a *really* good price for this seat. To answer your question, we have two and I like it a lot. It seems comfortable and is very quick and easy to install.
Thread: "Graco 4Ever 4-in-1 on sale at Canadian Tire! Worth it?"
Hey. I haven’t read through the other responses so apologies if this is a repeat. This sale price happens at Canadian Tire often enough. We just bought one for the same price about a month ago (actually only paid $64 because we cashed in Triangle points). I’m surprised it didn’t go lower for Black Friday but I’m learning lately that Black Friday is a big hoax lol. We just closed on our new home and have been watching sales on random house things and baby things and like … every sale at Canadian Tire right now, was identically priced as a sale a month ago. Same goes for Home Depot. I’m sure the odd thing is a true holy shit gotta get this at this price sale, but the vast majority of the sales I’ve seen this weekend were already on sale a month ago 🙄
Thread: "Graco 4Ever Reviews? [on]"
The 4ever is nice and was super using easy to install using the anchor system. Graco tends to go in cycles. For instance, 4ever will go on sale, then extend2fit, then trio grow, etc. It'll come back on sale eventually, it always does! I think we got ours for $300+tax off Amazon.
Thread: "Please just tell me what car seat to buy"
Graco, 3 in 1 has been great. We have two of them. Got them at Costco, I think they have the 4 in 1 now.
Thread: "Car seat - how do you travel???"
Just emotionally prepare yourself that your baby may transition to a convertible car seat far before age 1. I agree w other posters - have always taken my own car for day trips. For flights, brought a travel car seat and travel stroller.
