Get a high back booster that attaches to one of your regular chairs. It takes up less space, you can convert it to a regular booster when they are beyond high chair age, and it's more portable for taking to friend or grandparent houses. It also takes up less space in your house. I used the Fisher Price Spacesaver with both my kids and have zero complaints.

We used the [Fisher Price space saver](https://www.amazon.ca/Fisher-Price-SpaceSaver-Simple-Clean-Chair/dp/B0BB57YTL7/ref=asc_df_B0BB57YTL7/?tag=googlemobshop-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=706724208153&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10977261848174730792&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1002057&hvtargid=pla-1968741500295&psc=1&mcid=83dc1803ce29376fab93a1f0e84aff22&gad_source=1) and it held up well. Easy to clean. Goes on a chair so no splayed legs at all.

Do yourself a favour and splurge on the tripp trapp right away. It tucks right into your table. You won't be tripping over the crazy legs (IKEA!!!) You don't need any after market accessories. And it will last way longer than any other chair. We have the IKEA one for our patio, and since it's so light weight, my (new) two year old can easily climb out and get seriously hurt by tipping it. Or even just rocking it back and forth. I didn't want to buy into the hype of the tripp trapp. We tried out the fisher price space saver one too, and it is such a pain to clean because it not only gets all over the little crevices on the booster itself, but also under the seat and onto your actual chair. We use this style at the cottage and it's better as my son gets older, but really, just buy once and cry once, and use the tripp trapp from ages 0-5.

We have the Fisher Price Space saver high chair for home. It attaches to one of our dining chairs which is ideal for us since we are in an apartment with limited space. Pretty easy to take off the cover/straps etc to clean as needed. We also have an ikea antilop as our 'travel' chair for when we go away or to someone's house for dinner as it is easy to disassemble and waaayyyyy cheaper than specifically designed travel chairs

I think I had the ikea one. The weight limit is like 30# - so it just depends on your child. some kids are 30# by around a year and others hit that at 2. I used the Fisher Price space saver, but we put on a dedicated extra chair (which not everyone has)
