Cybex Libelle

The Cybex Libelle is an ultra-lightweight travel stroller designed for easy portability and convenience. It features a compact fold that fits in overhead compartments and is suitable for children from birth up to 55 pounds.

Pros (+)

  • Super lightweight and easy to carry
  • Folds compactly for travel
  • Fits in overhead bins on planes

Cons (−)

  • Limited storage space for essentials
  • Not as versatile for everyday use
  • May feel less sturdy than larger strollers

Why parents like it

Parents appreciate how easily the Libelle folds and fits into overhead bins, making it ideal for air travel. The lightweight design is a major plus for those on the go, especially when navigating busy airports.

Common complaints

The storage capacity is a common issue, with some parents wishing for more room for essentials. A few also mention that while it's great for travel, it may not be as versatile for everyday use.

Best for

Parents looking for a lightweight stroller that easily fits in overhead compartments during flights. The tradeoff is that it may lack the storage capacity needed for longer outings.

Bottom line

The Cybex Libelle is a great choice for parents who travel frequently, but be prepared for limited storage space.

Thread: "Strollers - what did you wish you knew before you bought?"

I thought we were going to have two so I bought CYBEX stroller to go with our car seat. He grew out of his baby seat early, so it's just a really bulky stroller. I really like my CYBEX libelle but I wish it had better storage.

Thread: "jogging stroller/buggy - is it worth it?"

Same. I have a jogging stroller, I think it’s baby gap and then I have a travel stroller, cybex libelle. I also had one of the ones just for the car seat to click into but the car seat also clicked into my jogging stroller for walks on rough terrain (don’t run with the infant car seat in the stroller)

Thread: "Stroller Madness - Uppababy vs. Chicco vs. Graco"

I did the Chicco Corso LE travel system - absolutely worth it. Rides sooooo smoothly and is so easy to push. Bumpy roads, gravel, rock - it’s nothing. It’s not too tall for me at 5’4 or too short for my husband at 6’1. The leather handlebars look so nice. It was nice that the chicco keyfit35 fit in it so we used that when our daughter was an infant. It’s my go to stroller for walks anywhere. It is a little bulky though so I also have Cybex Libelle 2 as our travel stroller since it’s super compact.

Thread: "Stroller help - bugaboo dragonfly as the only stroller in the city?"

No problem, I was just doom scrolling. Absolutely no regrets. We and our sitter use it everyday for our daughter. It goes to the library and Parks (when it's not below 40) with no issues. It's on the subway monthy but I try to use the local stop with an elevator to make it even easier. It's been to Comic Con, the AMNH, the beer garden and multiple restaurants, breweries, stores and in and out of our car with no mechanical issues. I did add the Bugaboo foot muff as we do take her out on days like today where it's windy and below freezing. She seems to like it and loves being out in it. I also decided to get an even smaller stroller, the cybex libelle, around Xmas because we are traveling by air a lot this year and it folds up to fit into the overhead nicely. The dragonfly would be gate check or checked with the bags. If you need more info feel free to DM.

We bought the cybex libelle 2 for Japan which is similar to the Pockit. Right now my Lo is 8 months old by the time we go to Japan she will be 13 months old. now she rides it in big and doesn’t look so comfortable. By 1 year old does the child sit better in the pockit?

Check the specific dimensions of the airline restrictions. We just did United with a Cybex Libelle and had no problems. It’s certainly not as comfy as our daily stroller (kiddo slouched and I missed having a cupholder!), but it was good enough and a lifesaver fire making tight layovers. If you’re travelling with children young enough to use a stroller, you’re able to do early boarding when there’s still plenty of room. The stroller in overhead + a diaper/toy/snack bag under the seat is the child’s luggage allotment. You may need to clarify with cabin crew that it’s an ultracompact that fits in the overhead compartment and you’re not gate checking, but no one gave us any grief.

We have the Cybex Libelle Stroller we managed to snag on sale for $285 with taxes. Normally it’s closer to $500. It’s amazing and we love it so much! Took it thru an airport and on an airplane in the overhead bins because it’s so compact and light weight. Great for malls while shopping and outside walks, but not in the snow or anything like that.

I recently got the Cybex Libelle stroller during a Nordstrom sale and we love it. It folds up smaller than most travel strollers and actually fits the dimensions of a carryon for airplane overhead bins. It doesn’t have a flat recline but it does recline a little; my 2yo was able to nap perfectly fine. It was very smooth on grass. We did not try it on cobblestone.
