Thread: "Which Momcozy wearable pump and why?"

My mom cozy s12’a were great… while they lasted. I got 2 replacements before a full refund and I wouldn’t buy their pumps again. If you read further on reviews they are notorious for faulty motors and as exclusive pumpers we NEED reliability. If I could go back I’d just invest in some better ones (I was looking at Elvie or willow) or get wearable cups for my Motif Luna. I’ve started weaning so it doesn’t make sense for me now, but I just really don’t recommend momcozy long term. Great customer service, terrible products. It’s important to note my first replacement was issued on December 26th. My baby was born December 9th and stopped latching at 5 days old. That’s how long one of the pumps lasted the second one went out in February. The first replacement went out in March. I gave up in April when the last one stopped working and only use my wall Luna. I replaced my inner parts multiple times I assure it wasn’t a me problem, I urge reading all the reviews you can.

Thread: "Help me pick the best breast pump"

I had a Spectra S2 and it was eating up my mental health. I ordered wearable Momcozy’s, two actually (M5 my fav and S12) and I meant to use all 3 but _very quickly_ (like probably in just half a day lol) dropped the Spectra and never looked back. I just couldn’t. Pumping was already ruining postpartum for me so the wearable option made it at least a bit tolerable. For me, it was wearable or nothing. I know many people can do the Spectra and even make it somewhat portable. I wasn’t one of those people, I didn’t have the drive for it. But if I were you, or more if I could go back in time, I would choose something wearable because I feel I completely wasted my free option with the Spectra. (Side note, you can order directly from Amazon with an FSA/HSA card without sending receipts or waiting for an approval! Lifesaver. That’s how I got my Momcozy “for free”.) ETA: I exclusively pumped because baby developed bottle preference and I couldn’t get him back to breastfeeding. They do not recommend portables only for exclusive pumping but I didn’t care. I really was about to explode mentally from being tied to a pump. It was getting really bad and wearables saved me.

I switched to the [S12 from Momcozy](https://arvita.link/lbuikq) for my second child, and it's been great. It's comfortable, easy to use, and I get more milk than with my old pump. Since you're WFH, it could be a good choice for you.

Momcozy s12 is $100 on Amazon. I love mine, but have no comparison to other wearables. I’ve heard the s12 is harder to use for women with bigger breasts (I’m a size D for reference). You just need a really good bra to keep it in place. Edit to add: I used the same pump for first baby (used for about a year) and using it for second baby now and I’ve only needed to replace the plastic parts between babies. The motor and charge is still great!

I also had this issue with Momcozys but I made it 7m exclusively pumping with the S12 pro before it died. If you email Momcozy with your order numbers for the pump they’ll send you a whole new set. I was able to get 2 replacement sets of S12s (original motor didn’t work, got new ones before baby was born, died at 7m, got new ones again). Their motors definitely kinda suck but they will also help you out

Thread: "Worth it to upgrade to the hospital-grade wearable pump?"

I think it is, although I don’t view wearables as “hospital-grade”. I know they all claim that but I think the average user experience (and mine) is slightly less output than your traditional pump. I have the momcozy s12 and get about an oz less than my spectra so I only use it 1x/day. But it definitely will be nice when I go back to work.

I have an s12 and I have g cups. I use it over my spectra. I did have to replace the batteries twice though (I’ve been BF for almost 15 months now). The trick is turn the pump on and bend over to align your nipple, stick on, then stand up. I work in healthcare and I’ve even pumped during rounds without anyone noticing 😝. You can see them through clothes but it isn’t super obvious unless you know what you are looking for.

Thread: "Recs for best handsfree pump?"

I have the momcozyS12, Imani2, Medela symphony and babybuddha. Momcozy - garbage. -1/10. Barely worked, so many parts to clean, used for a month and then it stopped working. Imani2 - decent. 5/10. Worked well enough in a pinch but wouldn’t be able to use as main pump imo Medela symphony - pretty good. 7/10. This was my main pump for the first three months but obviously very restrictive for movement because it’s not portable. Babybuddha- best so far - 9/10. Mobile, strong af. I use as my main pump now and it’s strong enough that I have to use nipple cream but I might need to reassess my flange size… This is from an under supplier (making max 18oz/day) so I need pumps that really get everything out! If you have over supply you might be good with this the Momcozy… I think it depends on what your goal is/what your current supply is like.

I have the spectra for my wall pump and momcozy S12 for wearable. Love love LOVE the wearable! Not everyone has this same review but I get exactly the same pump between wall or wearables. The momcozy’s fit properly and do not leak. Has 5 pieces to wash and stores well. I am very pleased with them.

Thread: "Cheap Wearable Pumps from Amazon and Supply"

I have the Paruu P10 from Amazon and was pleasantly surprised! I liked it better than the Momcozy s12. There is a setting for flat/inverted nips which is great for me, and the suction isn’t wildly intense and painful the way the momcozy was. The parts are also easier to clean and assemble, but not by a whole lot. That’s my biggest gripe with the wearables is how many parts there are and how annoying they can be to assemble. My output now that I have sorted out the settings is mostly comparable to my spectra, but I typically pump for 45-55 minutes with it to get to that point. But I haven’t noticed any nip damage doing that because the suction is gentle but effective, and since it’s so much more convenient, the longer time doesn’t bother me. I usually have to pump 42 minutes on my spectra anyways if I want to hit all the letdowns I know I can. The battery life gets me like 2.5 pumps, but they charge with regular USB-Cs so it’s always easy to find a charger when needed!

From my experience, the s9 is trash. I've heard good things about the s12 but never got it because of my experience already. Also their flange sizes are so hilariously wrong its like some board member was like, "what do we want pumping moms to experience the first time using this? *immense pain*"

Thread: "Completely overwhelmed with which pump to choose..."

If you’re going to be exclusively pumping I highly recommend the rechargeable spectra. It was really nice to be able to move anywhere to pump and it holds a charge really well. The convenience was well worth the little bit of extra it cost. Also, I used the momcozy s12 as well. It’s a great pump and the output was pretty much the same as with my spectra, which is sometimes an issue with the wearables. However, I will say that one of the motors started to act funny after a while. I’m not sure if this is a common issue or just a fluke thing that happened to me but worth looking into. And you didn’t ask but with any pump you get, please please please make sure you size yourself to get the right flanges. That saved my pumping journey!!

Thread: "Elvie wearable vs. Willow Go?"

I don’t have any experience with the Elvie but I recently got a Willow Go and I LOVE it. My previous wearable was a Momcozy s12 and boy is it an upgrade. It’s not unnoticeable in my bra but it’s not wildly lumpy like the S12. The annoying part is the motor is in the middle so you gotta be careful washing parts, and you can’t just stick the whole thing in the fridge. It’s not a spectra or any other wall pump, it’s of course not going to be as powerful, but it works surprisingly well for me. It has a bigger capacity than most wearables, and is on the heavy side (because the motor is inside, not on top), but it’s slim so it fits in my bra better than the Momcozy.

      Thread: "Momcozy SUCKS"

if you get a spectra (or possibly a baby buddha - i’ve heard they’re just as good) you can ‘hack’ them to connect to wearable cups! i do it with my s12s. momcozy is known for motors dying, they’re a scammy company. there’s better brands for wearables but you’re still only supposed to use them for 1-2 pumps a day to maintain supply.

      Thread: "Momcozy pumps"

I just take mine time with assembling it back is all! Once I place the silicone flange on all the way around I go back over it a second time to make sure it is secure and haven’t had any issues with leaking in months. I’ve only had it about three months. I don’t have any pumping bras but I just wear a regular bra and if I am trying to be super mobile and get stuff done I wear one of my looser sports bras over it and I can move around without them falling off. But if I am just sitting, I feel like my regular wireless bras keep them in place just fine. I’m sure if you use a pumping bra you wouldn’t need to double up like I do but I didn’t want to invest in them. I use them a lot when driving (probably not safe) and when visiting family/friends houses but I never have used them out in public. They are quite noticeable and the motor is on the louder side.

Can you elaborate on how you fixed the user error please? Was it just positioning? The bulk ones doesn’t bother you anymore? Do you ever use it outside of your home?

I love my WillowGo. I wear a 27mm flange and it’s about the only one that’s comfortable. WillowGo has an app and is fairly easy to use but doesn’t have many features. Lots of parts to clean and assembly has to be precise or you will lose suction. The flanges are hard plastic, wish they were silicon. Not super great battery life (get 2-3 pumps from a charge) but it empties me as well as my Spectra S1. I love to use it for power pumping bc it’s so easy to stat and stop. Easy to pour into bottles after pumping and I’ve never leaked with it or spilled it by mistake. Also, I ordered the hard sided case from their website and I love it- definitely does its job to protect them when out and about. Others I’ve used: The Momcozy S12 with their 27mm flange was horrible and ended up causing cuts due to a flaw on the flange design (I’m still mad I wasted money on it). If you can use the 24mm flange, it doesn’t have the same design and would work better. I now have two paperweights that are useless to me. Baby Buddha about rips my nipples off. That thing could suck paint off a wall it’s so strong. I can’t use it at all.

I have the momcozy s12 and I wish I had chosen one that fit inside my bra better, but it works well enough. I also picked up a Baby Buddha pump from my local Facebook moms group for free, and hacked it (replaced tubing) to use with my lansinoh flanges. It can be worn around the neck so it’s slightly easier to maneuver around than carrying my lansinoh pump around.
