Thread: "What's the big deal with the Happy Baby Carrier?"
We have a happy baby - I paid $180 for a used twice one on the fb group. I love it - extremely easy to use, lighter than any others we tried, my husband (over 6 feet) and I (5ft 2) can both use it, and it’s comfy for my little guy. All of this to say it is worth it, but people can get a little nutty for them. Before our HBC, we had a Lillebaby all seasons that I hated, and a Moby wrap I also hated. Hated the Lille because there were so many things to adjust/touch/move that I gave up. Hated the Moby because it never felt secure. I probably would’ve been happy with any apron style carrier, the Happy was just the first and last I tried! Hope this helps! Feel free to ask any questions if you have any specifics!
Thread: "$800 baby carrier…"
I managed to get a brand new Ergo baby 360 and a brand new Lillebaby complete for less than $30 apiece on FB marketplace! I bought them so I could continue wearing my now 30lb toddler, but likely won’t get to since I just found out I’m pregnant 😂 At least I’ll have options for #2!
Thread: "Opinion on lillebaby carrier"
The k’tan is better suited for very young babies. Like any stretchy carrier/wrap it will stop being comfortable once baby reaches a certain size - i think that’s often 15 lb or so (even though it lists a higher weight limit - just because it’s possible doesn’t mean it’s comfortable). A soft structured carrier like a lillebaby is more supportive and is a common choice for older babies. It says it can be used from birth but it can feel like a newborn is getting swallowed by this giant carrier, and it doesn’t have the snuggle factor that most people want with a newborn. A ring sling can be used for all ages but for many people isn’t comfortable for longer stretches or walks - it’s a more popular choice for errands or quick ups and downs around the house.
Thread: "Are Happy Baby carriers worth the price tag?"
Yup! I replaced my LilleBaby with a HappyBaby and it is such an upgrade. I have one of each style, they’re all small and compact and comfy for sitting or standing and easy to put on by myself. Also the resale value on the Facebook page is crazy—you can basically get your money back if you try it and don’t like it
Thread: "Best hiking carrier for infants?"
At 3 months I would still use a soft structured carrier, possibly as a back carry if comfortable. [We used this one](https://www.lillebaby.com/pages/lillebaby-complete) when my baby was 4 months to do Artist bluff. By 5 months you might be able to use a larger hiking pack like [this one.] (https://www.rei.com/product/164404/osprey-poco-child-carrier?sku=1644040001&store=&CAWELAID=120217890010101455&CAGPSPN=pla&CAAGID=107685713660&CATCI=pla-321982235709&cm_mmc=PLA_Google%7C21700000001700551_1644040001%7C92700056635456826%7CNB%7C71700000062011463&gclid=CjwKCAjwivemBhBhEiwAJxNWN-e7FrRGraBOU2BSsH6iSgEgcUiUxccDwkCrBi5fa8-2l575QtgZHxoC5VoQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds) But these shouldn't be used until your baby can sit on their own without support.
Thread: "Please tell me about your happy baby carrier vs a lillebaby type"
I have really liked our happy baby carrier (and my husband loved their onbuhimo), and didn't have trouble buying one from the site so long as I was flexible about color and fine with not having the hot new color that was just released. The one thing I would buy differently was that I originally got a cotton/linen blend one, and I didn't like the texture as much as the full linen (others report the opposite, though, so ymmv). We also had a Lillebaby all seasons, which I had thought I would use more for longer walks and also for forward facing, but my baby hated forward facing and also seemed to get too hot and sweaty in the lillebaby, which wasn't an issue with the linen carrier, so we never used the lillebaby much. This might have been different with a different model with better ventilation, but I think at least some of the issue was the scratchiness of the nylon mesh.
Thread: "Just buy the expensive baby carrier"
Okay but which one for a shortie I’m 5’2”. I’m loving my lillebaby but I know there’s better.
Thread: "A few questions about Lillebaby Complete"
Congratulations! It’s exciting times. As for your questions: 1. It COULD irritate baby’s legs. I have a LB and found it to be no problem when LO was little. Since he is now a chunky boy, I just make sure that he has pants if I’m carrying him. 2. Did not have a c-section, so unsure. 3. I would suggest getting both a structured carrier and wrap. Structured for outdoors and wrap for indoor/outdoor.
Thread: "What is the best Wrap you've used/have? Pros/Cons to a wrap vs a Harness?"
We used our Lillebaby complete and moby wrap basically from the beginning. The wrap has been a godsend because it’s the one basically guaranteed way to get her to sleep when she’s fussy. The Lillebaby we’ve used less, but is more comfortable for longer walks and I think will be very useful when she starts to get heavier. I also have a ring sling for quick in and out carries during the day. Honestly I’d recommend having several options because certain things just work better for different situations. Edit: ring sling is a maya wrap just to round out all the names.
Thread: "Ergo or Lillebaby carrier - which do you prefer?"
See if there is a local sling library near. They’ll normally let you try them out and have weighted dolls too! I have an ergo adapt and love it but recently tried out the lillebaby all seasons and fell in love. Both me and my husband prefer it to the ergo. That said we still also love the ergo. I don’t really think you can go wrong with either. Overall I feel that the lillebaby has just that tad more thought into the design and comfort.
Thread: "Opinion on lillebaby carrier"
Finding the right carrier is like a pair of jeans. What does fit your neighbor won't necessarily be comfortable for you. So it could be that you really love or hate the lillebaby despite what this sub says. That said, I'd always go for carriers in woven wrap material since they're less bulky and the material supports differently and they usually can be adjusted steepless. Also the material is more breathable (even to mesh, since mesh is plastic). But they're also usually more expensive so if there's a great deal on the lillebaby, you might as well go for it.
Thread: "LilleBaby complete carrier (mesh)"
This carrier doesn’t do ‘newborn to toddler’ well. It only has two seat widths (narrow, and huge) which leaves months where baby is too tall for the narrow setting, and too short for the wide setting. It’s inadequate IMO, you really need at least three seat widths.
Thread: "What is the best baby carrier?"
I like structured baby carriers (don't want to worry about wrapping and tying) and have been loving the LillieBaby All Seasons- it's really comfortable and my baby seems to like it too :)
Thread: "LilleBaby complete carrier (mesh)"
It’s my car carrier. I am NOT a pro but when my baby was between sizes I unsnapped the panels but kept them tucked up and it gave me a deeper/better seat till he could fit the wider mode.[in retrospect these aren’t great pictures](https://imgur.com/a/Q5kA39b)
Thread: "$800 baby carrier…"
Same! I got an Ergo for free from a friend and gave passed it on to another friend who was still using it when #2 came around so I switched to a Lillebaby from Once Upon a Child that I got for $35. They had probably a dozen carriers in stock when I went in, all under $40. That said I love it when people have carriers on their registries, I always buy them because I love baby wearing so much.
Thread: "A few questions about Lillebaby Complete"
I recommend finding a baby wearing group in your area to get help with fitting. I am 5’1” and I went to a baby wearing shop locally and when I told her I had a lillebaby she told me she knew it wouldn’t fit me because it was even too big on her and she’s 5’5”. I had gotten the lillebaby before baby was born and struggled every time I went to use it. Turns out it was also too big for my LO as well, she’s 5% for her height just like her mama. We ended up getting a Happy Baby Revolution and we love it! The panel is not too high for her so she can turn to look and we won’t have to wait for her to get taller to front face her. But for the first few months I used a Boba wrap, again LO was also petite so I had to wait for her to get to 7 lbs before I used it post c-section so I waited several weeks and made sure not to tie it too low near my incision.
Thread: "Baby carriers?"
I had the Lille baby and the ring sling. I used the ring sling until babe was big enough for the Lille (I didn’t have an infant setup for it) and then used them both for a few months. Starting about 6months though I just used the Lille baby until she was 2.5/3 I think it just seemed more secure and easier to pop her in and out of plus she loved being forward facing.

Baby Frida nose sucker. And our Lillebaby carrier.
Thread: "Looking for a baby wrap carrier that is actually plus-size friendly."
I have a lillebaby and got an extender for it! I was a 2x pre pregnancy and a 3x during/immediately after. The carrier fit just snug without the extender and very comfortably with it.
Thread: "Please tell me about your happy baby carrier vs a lillebaby type"
I have a Lillebaby and Beco Gemini carrier. I’m 5’2 and roughly 110 lbs. The Beco is a no-hassle low-frills carrier that fits really well for petites. My husband who’s double my size also uses it with no issues (he’s 5’10 and on the heavier side). The downside is that it can get a bit hot in warm weather. Check out the WireCutter review (I bought it based on their recommendation). The Lillebaby is much bulkier and I just barely fit. The back support is amazing though and the straps are nice and thick - I can carry my LO for much longer in this carrier vs the Beco. It’s also mesh based so there’s airflow for the summer. Both fit the LO well. I don’t think she has much of a preference - she might like the Beco a bit more since she’s less fussy at times but who knows.
Thread: "Best baby carrier for low back pain?"
Lillebaby all seasons with baby facing me was the best for my back. And this carrier was the only one that I could do forward facing for more than like 5 min. The Lillebaby comes with a chunky solid back brace piece that none of the other SSCs I tried had and it made a huge difference for me!
Thread: "A few questions about Lillebaby Complete"
You can use a Lille from birth (7lbs+) and on! I found the wraps to be a little better for the baby when he was small, like maybe the first 2-3 months, but didn’t find it supportive enough after. My LO doesn’t find the carrier uncomfortable whatsoever (11m now). That discomfort from the rubbing is more common in any of the mesh-lined carriers. You can avoid those or have baby in bottoms if it puts you at ease. And for the petite-frame, They work! You can buckle the shoulder straps across, and the loop the lumbar support through a single strap and have it tighter! I have a small waist, that’s what I do :)
Thread: "A few questions about Lillebaby Complete"
Yes, from when they were a few days old. Both boys LOVED being in it. I’m 165cm (sorry I’m NZ so think that’s 5’4”). I have a friend whose shorter than me and it’s fits well, it’s very adjustable.
Thread: "LilleBaby complete carrier (mesh)"
I’ve used a Lillebaby for years with my older kids. It’s bulky and it’s got straps and adjustments for days!! Which can be really great if you need and want that! I found it supportive and comfortable, yes! You’ll get along just fine with it!
Thread: "What’s the best baby carrier you’ve used that actually works for everyday life?"
Lillebaby complete. Cheap, cool, suppportive, great for chores and long hikes.
Thread: "Baby carriers?"
We got a Moby style wrap, ergo carrier and are re-using the lillebaby carrier we had from our first 2 kids. We're considering not getting a stroller, hence why we have so many carriers 😂.
Thread: "Just buy the expensive baby carrier"
Agreed my lillebaby lasted me two kids- both used up to two years old lol
Thread: "Ring sling or wrap for newborn?"
I never had a Boba, but from what I can see it's just like the Moby. I hated my Moby; too hot, too complicated, and not supported enough. For my third kid I picked up a used k'tan. I probably should have gone a size smaller, but I still loved it for the first month. One she stopped being a total potato I put her in the Ergo in the froggy position until I got my Lillebaby Complete this week. Now we're rocking in that legs out. I might have an SSC problem.
Thread: "Best Carrier Option for plus sized Moms?"
We have a wild bird ring sling and a lillebaby. I love both of them and have no problems getting a good fit. Babies seem comfortable. The lillebaby is a little tight but they sell a waist extender that really helps.
Thread: "recovering from babybjorn shame...."
I love my Lillebaby Complete, but it is bulky. I’m 5ft9in and about 145lbs and it fits me well, but if you had a short torso I think it would be uncomfortable in regards to the waistband. I do love everything else about it though, and I use it daily with my 4mo!
Thread: "What is the best baby carrier?"
I couldn’t figure out baby wraps, loved my Lillebaby All Seasons and have used it with both of my children
Thread: "Ergo or Lillebaby carrier - which do you prefer?"
So I have an Ergo Adapt in their standard cotton and just recently ordered a LILLEbaby Complete Airflow. Both carry relatively the same, just has slightly different weight bearing points for me. Temperature wise, the LILLEbaby is way cooler because of the all over breathable mesh. I was considering an All Seasons, but from what I’ve heard, it isn’t nearly as cool to carry in. So depending on where you live and how much you plan on doing in warmer situations, the Airflow might be a better choice between just those two. You can always dress the baby warmer in colder times, but the breathability keeps overheating down. They have the cool air mesh in the Ergo’s but I don’t much about that one specifically. If you’re not picky about print/design, they both have carriers on sale/clearance all the time. That’s the route I’ve taken so I can have multiple carriers.
Thread: "Ergo or Lillebaby carrier - which do you prefer?"
Lillebaby! No insert required.
Thread: "Help! Need better structured carrier options"
If the issue is the pressure on your lower back, get a Lillebaby carrier!! The lumbar support is UNRIVALED!! I have an Ergo too and it’s not bad. But the Lillebaby is the best.
Thread: "Holy Grail recommendations?"
Oh yes, the nose Frida was great. Gross, but worked so well.
Thread: "LilleBaby complete carrier (mesh)"
Thanks! Now I’m torn. I might see if I can try it before buying since it’s like a bra… different fit for different people!
Thread: "LilleBaby complete carrier (mesh)"
It was the one my boujee travel agent friend insisted I get. But I admit I never ever reach for it. Maybe when my baby is bigger and we are doing longer carries while on trips or something. It's very structured and bulky IMO, right now I prefer my half buckles.
Thread: "Thoughts on LilleBaby All Season?"
I have the all seasons and never had issues. The main complaint you hear about the lillebaby brand is the limited seat widths but the all seasons have 3 seats unlike their standard scc. This covers pretty much all ranges except for the first month or so, which hardly any carriers work for anyway. Other than that it's pretty easy and no more complex than any other scc. All soft structured carriers have a learning curve but are definitely on the easier end of baby wearing!
Thread: "Baby carriers?"
I have a lillebaby all seasons (I think that's what its called) and I absolutely love it. Baby used to live taking naps in it when she was a newborn and it's super comfy
Thread: "Are Happy Baby carriers worth the price tag?"
I adore my Lillebaby but it is bulky and no good for sitting down. It's very comfortable to wear though and great for hiking as it has that little flap I can stretch over her head. I'm now on the notify list for the Happybaby because of your comment haha. I'd never even heard of them before. Is the Happybaby as comfortable to wear?
Thread: "Advice for meh dai vs. SSC"
I found an Airflow, new in box, for just under $50 shipped, so I went ahead and jumped on it, because the price seemed so right. I figure if I hate it, I'll probably be able to recoup my cost! Thanks so much, y'all.
