      Thread: "Pigeon bottles"

The Pigeon and Lansinoh nipples are interchangeable with one another. I have used both. I haven’t had my Pigeon bottles tested for lead. I did buy glass Maymom bottles and collars to use with Pigeon nipples, and I requested their lead testing report. They sent me all of their testing results. Of course, Maymom could have sent me whatever they want, but hopefully it was legitimate. I also swabbed them at home but I know that’s not as reliable.

      Thread: "Philips avent vs. Lansinoh"

Lansinoh is notorious for having a faster flow than most other nipples on the market. I would opt for pigeon nipples instead. They fit the same as Lansinoh but have a much slower flow rate. I will also second the recommendation for Evenflo. That’s what we use and it’s the only bottle LO will take.

Same here. Our LO latches well to the Lansinoh style of nipple. But we tried sooo many other bottles that were recommended before finding the one he liked

Thread: "Lansinoh, Pigeon, Evenflo?? What bottles are you using?"

For preserving breastfeeding LCs advise only pigeon, Lansinoh or Evenflo nipples I already had glass avent bottles which are compatible with pigeon (though I've had many issues with the nipple popping out or leaking). Glass pigeon and Lansinoh (same manufacturer) have lead paint. If you want to try silicone (I like for on the go /diaper bag) pigeon nipples are compatible with nanobebe bottles Evenflos are impossible to find (the right kind for bfing)

Thread: "Using 8oz bottles with newborn?"

We use Lansinoh nipples on the 4oz and 8oz glass advent bottles. I have done combo feeding from day 3 with no issues. You just have to move the nipples around a bit and line up the air vents. Haven't had too much issues with leaking. Sometimes a little will come out but it's not a lot to warrant stop using them.

Thread: "Philips Avent VS Dr. Browns anti-colic bottles - what’s your preference? My baby will be bottle fed only as I have no breasts."

Baby actually likes the lansinoh nipple a little better, and it fits in the Avent bottles well! I learned this from Mama Nurse Tina and ordered the nipples because my baby hates the Philips nipples and I felt bad throwing away two perfectly good glass bottles. The nipple's a little taller, though, so the cap of the bottle kinda pushes down on the nipple when you close it, but since it's silicone it doesn't deform or anything like that.

Seconding this! My daycare won’t do glass bottles so these were perfect. My daughter conveniently only accepted this brand for pacifiers and bottles.
