Thread: "Which wearable breast pump would you recommend as a primary pump? (FTM)"

I breastfed like 90% of the time and pumped the rest. Wearable pumps are great, but if you end up pumping more than that, you might want an electric pump. They are much stronger than wearables. That being said, I got the lansinoh discreet duo and loved it 😊

I’m using the lansinoh and I get just as much with it as I do with my spectra

Thread: "Why did you choose your wearable pump, what do you like about, what would you change?"

This isn’t what you asked for, and if this is something you’ve considered and rejected please disregard, but did the lactation consultant recommend physical therapy at all? Pumping is a valid choice regardless of the reason for it, but IF you haven’t ruled out a possible physical reason that your baby is a slow eater, it is a possible option. I only mention it because you don’t say if your baby eats faster at the bottle or is slow at both, and in our case our baby had a poor suck function and neck tension that affected both nursing and bottle feeding. Physical therapy helped so much even though he never actually ended up nursing and I exclusively pumped for a year. And to answer your actual question, I had a Lansinoh discreet duo and it was great for me!

I’ve heard such hit or miss opinions on the “name brand” expensive pumps, so during my first pregnancy I bought a Mommed S21 secondhand (check out the BST groups on Facebook) because it was affordable and had great reviews. I ended up loving it more than my momcozy I was gifted (and not responding to). This time around with baby #2, I purchased a brand new one (relatively affordable in comparison to others) and love it even more than I remember. They’re not as loud as my other wearable pumps, they hold a charge very well, they’re not super bulky, feel lightweight to me, and can hold at least 6oz each side. I’ve never had them leak like my Lansinoh Discreet (pump I got through insurance). Just an all around great pump for the price. Good luck!

I have a Pumpables and the Lansinoh discreet duo. The Pumpables van act as my primary pump, as I find it just as effective as the Spectra. I really like the discreet duo wearable for when I’m driving or don’t want to deal with tubing.

I have the Discreet Duos by Lansinoh and I like them, but they are not strong enough to be your main pump. I got the Spectra S2 wall pump as my main pump and use the Duos on the go.

Thread: "Best Wearable Pump for Working Mom?"

I have the Lansinoh discreet duo. I am really pleased with it! I use it when we travel, when my primary pump parts are dirty, and plan on using it when back to work. Usually get about 4 pumps on a single charge. I currently have a spectra as my primary pump, and I get close to the same output with the discreet duo.

I got the spectra from a close friend and then got a portable pump through insurance ( lansinoh discreet duo). I use the portable one when I’m out with my kiddos and need to pump so that I’m not missing a session or having to rush home and I use the spectra as my primary pump. Also, make sure you measure for your flange size 🙂. Your lactation consultant at the hospital can help you with it. But it helps make pumping more comfortable if you use the proper size.

      Thread: "Best breast pump"

Lansinoh discreet duo is great for on the go. Spectra isn’t too expensive so if the battery deteriorates on your used one just buy it out of pocket. But I love my wearables for getting stuff done round the house or going out! I use a spectra s1 at home and in the early days to build supply. Wearables occasionally, and then from around 8 weeks I use them more often because it’s so handy to get the dishes done at the same time haha
