Integra solar

The Integra Solar is a full buckle baby carrier designed for comfort and breathability, particularly in hot weather. It allows for both front and back carrying options and is made from water-friendly materials that pack down small for easy transport.

Pros (+)

  • Lightweight and breathable for hot weather
  • Easy to clean and water-friendly
  • Versatile with front and back carrying options

Cons (−)

  • Limited long-term durability feedback
  • Some parents lack personal experience in varied conditions
  • Not as widely tested as other popular carriers

Why parents like it

Parents praise the Integra Solar for being lightweight and easy to clean, making it ideal for summer outings. Its versatility in carrying positions adds to its appeal for active families.

Common complaints

While many parents have positive experiences, some express a lack of extensive feedback on its long-term durability. A few also mention that they haven't personally tested it in different conditions, leading to uncertainty about its overall performance.

Best for

Parents living in hot climates looking for a breathable carrier. The tradeoff is that while it excels in summer comfort, there may be less information on its performance in cooler conditions.

Bottom line

The Integra Solar is a great option for parents seeking a lightweight carrier for warm weather, though some may find the lack of extensive user feedback a concern.

Thread: "Best Baby Carrier?"

I volunteer with a lending library and our most popular carriers with our volunteers and patrons are Happy Baby OG, Lenny Lamb Lenny Light, Oscha Cairis and Coorie, Kinderpack, Tula, Soul AseemA, Integra solar, meh dais and half buckles. I’m sure I’m forgetting some because it’s true that what people love varies so much between users. What we volunteers generally don’t like: Lillebaby (only has a narrow and wide setting so a lot of time where it doesn’t fit baby well), ergobaby (not a bad carrier, just most of us find it bulky and much prefer the feel of other carriers), mabe carriers (quality is dubious and they don’t really promote safe Babywearing) artipoppe (this is more because the company is icky and doesn’t promote safe babywearing, not a lot of experience with the carriers) and any carrier that is actually a carry assist but marketing misleads people into thinking it’s handsfree (hippie Joey knockoffs, buckle ring sling types) Other things to note: Apron style carriers are minimal carriers. They tend to be favorites for a lot of people during the first year as they tend to feel better for many people’s pelvic floor. They also are lightweight and pack small. You can also easily sit while wearing baby in them. Waterfall carriers have stiffer waists, can be bulky, and tend to shine after baby is a year. Men tend to prefer waterfall waists. These aren’t true for everyone, as I have definitely worked with people who had the opposite experience. You will have to wear either carrier high on your waist when they are small so that they are close enough to kiss. You will also want to consider your needs. X or H back, ease of switching between wearers, back carry, hip carry, ease of breastfeeding in carrier, dual or one direction adjust. It’s a lot to consider so trying different carriers out is definitely the easiest way. You can also check out theBabywearing.ot and letstalkbabywearing on instagram to see lots of carriers in action and see their reviews.

Thread: "Artipoppe Reviews"

How old/how big is your baby? Generally you want less (no) padding and less bulk if you want to stay cooler. Minimalistic apron style carriers and ring slings are much better options. Artipoppe has one of the largest/stiffest waistbands available. Integra’s Solar (or one of their other fabrics), Happy Baby’s OG, Sakura Bloom’s Scout, and Hope & Plum’s Lark are all going to much lighter than a zeitgeist. Tons of brands sell ring slings— Hope & Plum, Nalakai, LennyLamb, Wildbird, Tula, Oscha, Didymos, etc, etc. ETA: Artipoppe does *not* safely fit newborns, despite advertising that they do. The panel is too wide and too tall, it’s a suffocation hazard. Most babies start fitting this carrier around 3 months (possibly longer if your baby is petite).

Thread: "Ergobaby v Tula"

I like the tula FTG as mine is 100% cotton and feels more breathable. I tried the ergobaby omni 360 and it’s all synthetic fabric which made us both really sweaty. I also have an integra carrier which is great. The integra solar is wonderful for hot weather (I’m in the UK too) but I just have the classic one (: it’s not a buckle carrier so very lightweight. EDIT: it IS a buckle carrier, I definitely baby brained this. However, it does not have a big padded waistband whereas the Tula FTG does. With both the integra and tula FTG you can do a back carry which would be nice for hiking. I don’t go hiking but do like them both for walks around the city and to the park.

Thread: "Overwhelmed With Carrier Options and Plus Size"

Tula is waterfall style. As are other popular carriers like Ergo, Artipoppe, LennyLamb, Mabe, Wildbird, and Lillebaby. They are all characterized by a stiff waistband that buckles against your waist and then the baby's butt "waterfalls" over it. The stiffness of the waistband adds support but can also put a lot of pressure against your pelvic floor and dig weirdly into random fat rolls I've found. And not all waterfall waist bands are the same. I can wear Tula no problem but LennyLamb hurts. Apron carriers have a thinner unpadded waist band where it creates a little hammock the baby sits in. They aren't quite as supportive but I find them more comfortable personally. Popular ones of these are Happy Baby OG, Hope & Plum Lark, Sakura Bloom Scout, Oscha Bairn, and Integra Solar.

I'm a big fan of the integra solar. We use it in the summer and it can front and back carry.

Thread: "What’s Your Holy Grail Carrier for Babies?"

I agree that a woven wrap would be most versatile, but if that doesn’t appeal to you, here are my thoughts as someone who doesn’t have the hang of wovens yet. I love the Integra Solar (full buckle). It’s practical (easy to clean, water friendly, packs down small) and comfortable. I keep that one in my car. Around the house, I use my ring sling most (didymos, medium weight 100% cotton). If I had to go down to two, those would be my picks. Not what you’re asking for, but if your budget is limited, I encourage you to look at marketplace and the Facebook BST groups. Not only are they going to be less expensive than new and often already broken in (a plus!), but if you buy a quality used carrier from a brand with good resale value and take good care of it, you can probably resell for around what you but it for if needed. This has made me feel better about having several carriers. Hope that helps!

Thread: "Summer Carrier Recommendations? "

Lightweight natural fabrics like cotton, linen and hemp seem to be the best. Little Zen One has an awesome try before you buy program! [Try Before You Buy](https://www.littlezenone.com/pages/try-before-you-buy-program) I just ordered a Happy Baby Original from them and a lightweight cotton woven wrap by Didymos. Integra Solar and Hope and Plum Lark also seem to be highly rated summer carriers.

Thread: "Artipoppe or Happy Baby for 7m old"

I would look into the Hope and Plum Lark or an Integra (Solar if you’re going to be doing water activity’s, regular linen if not) The artipoppe is not nearly as packable or portable and a huge waste of money. You can buy 3 nicer carriers for the price of their 1

Thread: "Hot weather baby carrier comparison / advice "

Integra Solar is supposed to be great for hot weather, but I personally don’t have any experience with it. I have the ergo Omni breeze and it’s fine? Definitely bulky, but very supportive. Definitely a workhorse and very low maintenance. I live in the swampy south, and it gets hot, but no more hot than anything else. I like that I can just throw it in the washing machine, and personally I have no issues wearing it around the house for chores, but I know that’s not necessarily everyone’s experience with it. I also have a happy baby Onbuhimo but we are still trying to work out the kinks to get a comfortable carry. It’s very lightweight, typical linen properties, can pack down small. Little Zen One has a try before you buy program that might be worth looking into, and their Facebook group can answer a lot of questions

Thread: "Mabé, Tula, or Momcozy?"

Tula hands down from that group BUT kinderpack and Beachfront baby amd happy baby (any kind, OG is probably.your easiest bet) and integra solar in that order are my real recommendations. Especially kinderpack, it has a mesh panel, highly recommend this one for being user friendly, easy to share with spouse, and easy care. You would need the infant size, if you find one on your local marketplace (highly likely) Your baby is too young to front face and that is no longer considered safe babywearing. They're able to see enough of the world while facing you in a front carry or on your back. Your baby is too young for back carry. Minimum 4m with strong head control is the cutoff for that, as well as the size and weight guidelines of the respective carrier. The biggest reason babies don't like a stretch wrap and most any carrier is user error, also stretch wraps and all wraps in general come with a learning curve so they're neither intuitive nor super easy so they have high instances of error in the beginning of your wrapping journey. It's not personal, it's just part of learning and I creasing your babywearing skill level. As well, some people just don't care for that effort and prefer something else for any number of reasons. I like ring slings the best myself, I do wrapping things with ring slings, too, not just regular ring slinging. But yeah, find a solid carrier. Mabe isn't it, neither is momcozy. They're not going to give you the quality, longevity, or even the options that you're hoping for.

As a Floridian I’m obsessed with my Integra Solar, it’s surpassed my linen Tula FTG as my primary carrier. I got it through the Little Zen One Try Before You Buy program and couldn’t let it go.

Thread: "Pros and cons of Onbuhimo carriers? Favorites? "

For short ups i am liking my onbuhimo but I’m still getting used to it. I have a Lenny lamb. It’s more cushy and customizable fitting than the naked panda i tried, too. The ssc back wear is better for naps in the carrier. I use a lark or an integra solar for this.
