Thread: "Baby bottles glass vs plastic"
I’m using glass because micro plastics and pfas freak me out, plus I don’t think it’s any harder to use glass. I use the Evenflo glass bottles. They don’t have any paint on them so there’s not really any chance of them having lead in the paint as has been reported with some bottles (not sure if that’s true but I wanted to be cautious). They hold over 8 ounces. I use the standard neck balance nipples with them because they are supposed to be better for breastfeeding than the ones that come with the glass bottles. If you do that you have to buy the plastic bottles that come with them. I think they have a glass version of the wide neck balance but it was out of stock. They clean pretty easy! I don’t use a microwave sterilizer but I feel good about sterilizing them in the pot since they’re glass.

Has your baby been born yet? My advice would be to not stock up on one particular brand until after baby is here. I bought Evenflo glass bottles and ended up switching to Dr Brown after birth because the lactation consultant at the hospital recommended the Dr Brown premie nipple for our situation.

We’re going to try the super basic Evenflo glass bottles, and if babe doesn’t like those we’ll try the Boon Nursh silicone bottles. I’m not a fan of plastic in general, and in particular heating plastic.

Thread: "Best bottle to support continued breastfeeding"
We used the Evenflo glass bottles and Dr Browns glass wide neck bottles without issue. My milk took awhile to come in so we did this from birth and never had a problem. From my own research it seems like paced feeding and low nipple flow are the most important factors, so we used 0 or 1 nipples (preemie/newborn) nipples the entire time she was on bottles.
