      Thread: "glass bottle recommendations"

I've used a lot of glass bottles, and still do. I have a 1 year old and we've done through a lot. Gulicola on Amazon is awesome, but if you can find Evenflo Balance Wide in glass... even better. Evenflo ones were my favorite! Eta; Gulicola, Evenflo and Pigeon bottles are all wide mouth so any wide mouth nips will fit. If you stick with "wide mouth" which is typically what is recommended by SLP and Peds for oral development, you can buy the same nips. I prefer Pigeon nips because they are sooooo much softer than Lansinoh... and my 1 year old with 8 teeth has not broken any of the Pigeon nips with his fangs!!!

My baby also won’t take any pacifier, and will only take the lansinoh bottles. They have a very gradual slope and she’s able to get a beautiful latch with them even with a moderate upper lip tie. She’s 5 months old and we still use the slow flow nipple. I don’t think we will ever size up. We also tried the narrow dr browns and evenflo balance wide. Both were also great, she just prefers the lansinoh. She goes from breast to bottle with no issues.

Thread: "What bottles are best? [on]"

If you’re interested in nursing in addition to bottle feeding, I would check out this lactation consultant’s blog post. She specifically recommends to AVOID Comotomo. If you’re planning to exclusively bottle feed, then I suppose it doesn’t matter. https://www.rachelobrienibclc.com/blog/bottles-for-breastfed-babies-introducing-a-bottle-part-1/ I used Philips Avent Natural glass bottles (not the anti-colic bottles) at first because I wanted to avoid plastic and they were the most widely available glass bottles. At the time we were also struggling with nursing, so I wanted to find a nipple that did not cause bottle preference.  I used the **Evenflo Balance Wide** nipples. They worked with the Avent bottles and rings, but the nipple is too tall and gets smushed by the cap. I didn’t notice any damage caused by smushing, but we also tried to avoid putting a cap on when possible. We didn’t get out of the house too much and have to take the bottles out anyway.  Eventually I gave up on nursing/latching and transitioned to exclusively bottle feeding. My ~3 month old baby showed signs that he was frustrated by the Evenflo Balance slow flow rate so I bought **Pigeon** nipples. Their “Super slow” is good for newborns. However I need a complicated set-up to get them to work with the Avent glass bottles. I bought this [Maymom set from Amazon](https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B01LXW0JIP) since I needed it for pumping at work. I use the Philips Avent glass bottles + Maymom collar + Pigeon nipple + caps from the Evenflo Balance Wide nipples. We still primarily use this combination nowadays for my 10 month old. He takes the Medium flow Pigeon nipple now.  **Quark** is another brand that fits onto the Philips Avent glass bottles rings and the Avent cap  smushes it down a little less. My baby accepted all of those nipples (except mine I guess lol)

Not sure if it’s been mentioned yet. Nuk perfect match can fit Nuks simply natural glass bottle. The one with white letters. Also evenflo balance wide fits the spectra’s wide collar. The one that comes with the pump. Also grosimmi ppsu bottles, not glass. They’re interchangeable with spectra. Which also means that their straw inserts are interchangeable.

Same! Our baby and we hated them. And they made our first week and a half horrid. Our LC recommended them and they were soooo slow that feeds were bleeding into one another. I’d literally be feeding for like 1.5 hours, get 20 minute break before he was hungry again. We switched to evenflo balance wide, and the nipples came with plastic bottles but fit our Phillips avent glass bottles. They’ve been great.

I found [this](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6_rE2ebUuk) video super helpful. We ended up using pigeon because of the super slow flow and they came in glass. We also used even flow balance wide. Both were great and we’re still nursing at 15 months with no signs of stopping anytime soon.
