Nah, used bottles are *usually* terrible. They just aren’t designed to be used for more than one baby. You’re lucky the Avent bottles worked, bc I couldn’t even use them for any of my subsequent babies. I love them, but I always had to buy new ones. And the nipples only last a month or two before you’re supposed to replace them. Those are for sure not meant to be handed down. I didn’t like the TT bottles bc they unscrew too easily, but I think your issues with it might just be that you need to get a new one.

Kiddo liked the Avent bottles the best, he really disliked Dr. Brown’s which was a shame because we were gifted some nice ones lol. It’s mostly going to depend on your child and which nipples they prefer the best.

Omg is this what those blue things are for in avent bottles?? I never used them once and keep forgetting they’re in the cupboard lol but my baby has also used a bottle only a few times

We've used the Avent ones and you can watch the air bubbles move back into the bottle away from the nipple. We didn't like the Dr brown's ones and I didn't think they did much but done people live them

Yes! The Avent bottles have been the best by far and the soap makes all the difference

Thread: "My almost 4 month old has developed bottle preference and is refusing my breast. Heartbroken. What can I do to get baby back to breast?"

i dealt with my LO developing a breast aversion around 4-5 weeks, and i was heartbroken. i saw an LC who recommended several things for us to start doing: 1. the bottle is SO important! we started using lansinoh bottles with a pigeon nipple and WHEW. so much improvement for our LO. he had been having so many issues with latch, inefficient suction, AND reflux. this bottle and nipple combo has been amazing for us. 2. use 2 weeks to exclusively pump to build up supply (ie pump 10-11 times in a 24 hour period with at least 1 power pump each day) 3. lots of skin to skin WITHOUT pushing to latch. basically just establish that boobs are comfortable and nice! maybe even ideal! with a low pressure environment, babies will be inclined to naturally seek nursing out. i have to be perfectly honest though... we're now at 5 months, and we never got back to nursing. there's been a successful latch a handful of times since i started pumping, and each unsuccessful time has just broken my heart a little more, so honestly i stopped trying. he clearly prefers bottles and doesn't trust my boobs no matter what i do, so i'm exclusively pumping these days. it's tough, and this isn't the breastfeeding journey that i wanted. but one thing i do to keep my head in the game and change my perspective is that none of this is really about *me*. of course i'd love to nurse exclusively, but what matters is i'm doing this for my baby. it's the most selfless thing i've ever done (and will probably ever do in my life), and when it comes to my kid, making a sacrifice like this is a no-brainer.

I like the avent bottles, they’re quite breastfeeding friendly and I haven’t had any leaking issues except when I’m getting too close to the top when I’m pumping. Once my 1 nipples are worn outI’m slowly moving them up to 2s. My baby is 3 months right now.

If you like the Mam nipples, you can use them in Avent bottles. We used them successfully and my son would only take the Avent or Mam nipples of the 8-10 we tried.
