Mine has been in the Newton since 10 months, still is. He sleeps better in it then a crib, so we will stay in it till we switch to a floor bed.

Yes, I also read about the hazards of adding a mattress and that is exactly why we got the newton travel crib which I think is similar to the lotus. The mattress is not too thin imo and while it might be thin for us they are not as heavy as us and don't need such a thick mattress like we do.

Ahh yes, thank you! The bigger size is another one of the reasons I was thinking of the newton, especially for overnight sleep, when he's used to his crib, I thought it might be less or a transition.

I love our newton travel crib with the bassinet insert, and it has everything you are looking for as well. It works amazing for flying as well, and it goes in as checked luggage. The bassinet attachment is also large so if you have like me, bigger babies, it is ideal!
