Thread: "Keekaroo peanut ve. less expensive changing pad (e.g. Bumbo) vs. roll up travel pad/change baby wherever?"

I got a generic white changing pad and throw on top of it the munchin changing pad liners that can easily be popped into the laundry. Having something solid is nice compared to a blanket. Then having the removable liner for messes is also nice.

Thread: "It seems like a bunch of people have those wipe-clean foam changing pads now. What’re you putting on them in the wintertime so your baby does not recoil in screaming horror from the cold surface?"

I use the munchkin changing pad liners on the keekaroo changing pad. They are the perfect size, comes in a 3 pack on Amazon. When they get dirty I just swap out, and they wash up so nice.

Thread: "Changing pad? Classic cushion type vs solid keekaroo type?"

I used the cushion type with both of my kids and never had a problem with it. We had a few different covers for it but we just put a munchkin changing pad liner on top and changed it if it got dirty. It was very rare for us that poop or pee got anywhere while changing a diaper.

Thread: "Diaper changing pads"

We just have a munchkin pad that had grips on the bottom and anchors to the table or wall. I have no complaints about sliding and it was very economical. Typically I just change on a receiving blanket on the bed though.

Thread: "Is a change table/changing pad on a dresser totally necessary?"

I have a dresser with a changing pad. Every single diaper has been changed on it. When there are blowouts, or when they pee or poop mid-change, you’re not going to want it on the floor or couch. My changing pad can easily be wiped down and cleaned. I recommend the $30 Munchkin changing pad! You can get it from Target or Amazon

I love the Munchkin pad! For something that’s going to be pissed and shit on, I can’t imagine spending a ton of money on it. It’s super easy to wipe clean, it’s comfy to lay on for baby, and the sloped sides and strap work well. No complaints!

The skiphop one is really hard but the peanut is much softer

If we're talking apartment living and you have to travel to do laundry, absolutely give yourself the gift of a wipeable changing pad. Munchkin makes a waterproof wipeable changing pad for WAY less $$ than the Keekaroo!

It feels like there's a right choice for all these things, and it really does not matter. Get something that you can wipe clean and not something that is absorbent or requires a fabric cover.

Thread: "Portable diaper changing pad / clutch"

I had an older version of this Munchin portable pad that was great for both my kids. You can detach the changing pad part and just use the pocket part as a clutch if you know you have somewhere sanitary to change your LO, but I almost always used it with the pad when out and about. As long as you don’t stuff it too full (1-2 diapers, small things of wipes and any creams you need) I found it wasn’t too bad size wise. Not sure if it’s very different from the Skip Hop one. It was one of my favorite pieces of baby gear a friend recommended with my first. [Munckin Portable Changing Pad](https://www.target.com/p/munchkin-designer-diaper-change-kit/-/A-14323620)

Thread: "Changing pads what to choose?"

We had the cushioned one (munchkin it wipes off if you don’t put anything on it) and had a fabric cover that we started using around 4 months. Before that we put an old towel down on top.

Munchkin makes a changing pad liner that is washable and will likely cost less than puppy pads. Comes in a three pack, got them at target!

We have the same. I actually barely use the liners. I did in the winter but not so much in the summer. We also have a travel one that lives in the diaper bag.

Thread: "Changing pads what to choose?"

You do nooooot want to have to take off and wash the cover everytime your newborn pees or poos on it, trust me. That would be so much work and your energy will be better used in other ways, like snuggling your lil baby! Get a wipeable mat 100%. I have [this one](https://www.amazon.ca/Munchkin-Secure-Grip-Changing-White/dp/B00O64QJOC/ref=asc_df_B00O64QJOC/?tag=googlemobshop-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=706724208144&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9431233123110549016&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9190896&hvtargid=pla-365069374973&psc=1&mcid=1909c8b318b036ceaae5788963f561bd&gad_source=1) and it's plenty soft. I tend to keep a receiving blanket covering half of it for baby (so their butt is on the wipeable part and torso & head on the blanket) but that's also so there's a little more grip on them.

I’m a mom of 2 and used this for both my kids. Ive never needed to use the strap so I just got some changing pad covers from Amazon and rotate through them.

Thread: "Best changing pads, bassinets, and bouncers"

I have the normal wipeable Munchkin changing pads on both of my changing tables. I bought covers but I don’t use them because it’s way easier to wipe it than wash the cover every time. And we have the Halo Luxe Bassinest! Highly recommend, it’s so convenient, and the side collapses so I can grab baby out easily. I only chose the Luxe version because we needed the flat legs to fit under our storage bed. I would recommend getting the DreamWeave breathable mattress, the pad it comes with is so thin ETA: I really love the 4moms Cleanwater tub! Has a really neat design for checking the temperature of the water before it gets to baby and for keeping clean water ready to go when washing baby

We’ve been using the normal wipeable changing pad as well. It’s easy to wipe up any mess with a baby wipe. No need for the expensive changing pads in my opinion. Save your money for something else.

Thread: "Munchkin changing pad?"

I have the Munchkin changing pad and it’s thick, easy to clean/wipe for any accidents and has raised sides to stop rolling so does the job. I keep it on the changing table but now the baby is rolling and a lot more active with wanting to look around and grab basically anything and everything, it’s kind of obsolete now. I keep folding changing mats in the living room and other bedrooms for convenience so I guess I’ll end up keeping the Munchkin changing pad in the nursery to use on the floor for changes. I digress but my point is, it’s a changing mat that will inevitably be peed and/or pooped on so as long as it has good padding and can be wiped, it’s good. It’s not that deep 😂

I have a travel pad in the diaper bag and a munchkin tabletop changing pad for home. I have changing pad covers but I like that it’s easy to wipe down. I like having the portable one because I refuse to lay him on the bathroom changing things.

I thought about it and decided it was too much of a splurge for me. I ordered the Munchkin changing pad ($30) and was pleasantly surprised to find the bare pad is completely waterproof and feels like it would be just fine to wipe. I haven't used it yet so I can't say for sure but it seems like it is functionally similar to the Keekaroo! Though it is not contained on all four sides (pee puddle mishaps incoming??) and the front has a big ugly warning printed on it (I've just flipped it to the back side)
