I have, and like, the Bugaboo Stardust. It folds flat, and can set up and take down in under a minute. It's lightweight and easy, which I was looking for with a bad back. The bassinet is rated up to 19 lbs, if that interests you, and is included (it's a seperate buy for the Phil and Ted). When I was looking, the 2 best options seemed to be the Bugaboo and the Phil and Ted's. The type of travel that you're doing (air vs car) might be a big consideration, since the Phil and Ted's packs up smaller. Edit to add: both of those are rated for safe sleep in Canada. Anything called a "crib" is okay, but playards are not safe sleep rated here.

The bugaboo stardust is fantastic! We used the bassinet attachment and put it beside our bed when our baby was a newborn. Now we use the bottom when we travel and at the nanny’s house. Edit: the bassinet attachment is rated for safe sleep in Canada.

We got the Bugaboo Stardust mainly because it seemed the easiest/fastest to assemble. We planned to use it at grandparents so wanted something that would be easy for them to use. But then my parents ended up just buying a crib so it hasn’t been used much 🤷🏻‍♀️

We have the bugaboo stardust and love it! It fold and unfolds super fast and lays flat which has made it very easy for us to travel with it. We used the bassinet insert until my son could roll/hit the weight limit. We now use it without as a sleep space when away from home - it’s notably not approved for safe sleep in Canada (very few pack and plays are) but is in the US so we felt comfortable using it that way.

We’ve used the bugaboo stardust and been super happy with it. Also used a graco pack and play - similar good experience.

We also went with the Stardust. We used it exclusively as her bassinet for the first 4 months and worked well. Compared to the Halo, she still had plenty of room before we moved her to her crib. We were also in a condo and her room was my husbands WFH office. The Stardust was used daily for naps (lower level) from 6-9 months (before we moved and she got her own dedicated room). It’s so easy to set up. It is narrow so even when we’ve tried to use it as a play space, found it small compared to a Graco. The ease of set up and take down though is a million times easier than a Graco. We recently had to set up one at my in-laws and it was a nightmare compared to the Stardust. The Stardust also packs away very narrow and compact. We loved it and still use it for local travel.

I have the Bugaboo Stardust and Phil and Ted's traveller. The Stardust is so easy to set up and fold down but doesn't pack up very small - it just goes flat but still the size of the end of the pack n play. Great for car travel, but we haven't flown with it. Grandparents much prefer the Stardust for the ease of use. I like the Phil and Ted's for the outdoors better, I bought the sun cover and it's more versatile in that sense. Packs up super small and light, it's like a camp chair when disassembled. But, no matter how many times I've done it it always takes me around 15 full minutes to set it up. I have an older version so maybe it's improved now. Both have their merits for me, it depends on how you expect to use it.

I’ve heard great things about the guava lotus crib! It seems great for travel and having the zipper for side entry is a big plus. Unfortunately it’s hard to get here in Canada. I am looking to get a playard that I can travel with as well, but I want the raised mattress option since we’ll be using it from birth. For that I am considering the Bugaboo Stardust.

We have the Bugaboo Stardust! Bassinet feature is rated safe for sleep in Canada. It’s where our baby sleeps nightly beside our bed. We have also folded it up and taken it to my in-laws when we are going to be there a longer time. Folds easily and comes with a travel bag it goes into. Our girl is almost 5 months, 15lbs, and about 26 inches long. She still fits great in it! The weight limit fit the bassinet is 19.8lbs so it lasts for a while.

We have Bugaboo stardust. I chose it because the bassinet's size is the same as the "main" bed size. Many travel cribs have bassinets that are half the size of the bottom bed. My baby is skinny, so Stardust allowed us to use the upper bassinet when he was still within weight restrictions, but would have been too long for most other bassinets. That said, now at 16 months he's close to outgrowing its length altogether. I might need a new travel option soon. Otherwise Stardust is so freaking easy to fold and set up. It has a decent travel bag, but usually flies as "oversize" baggage.

I dont know your price range so i am going to throw out the one i got after a lot of research but it isnt for everyone. 1st like others have posted a pack n play is a safe sleep space at the very bottom level and any bassinet specific insert is sleep safe, anything on top labeled lounger / seat / sleeper is not intended for safe sleep and should not be used for long as postional asphyxiation is a real threat and is silent. 2nd the pack n play i ended up getting is the bugaboo stardust. It doesnt come with the fussy stuff on top and the bassinet zips on. The thing folds out in 1 second and folds up in about 3 seconds. It has a smaller foot print than others and can be folded with the mattress inside the bassinet. It was the most practical in terms of features for us but it is on the pricey side. We got a great deal on it during a sale. If we couldnt get it then we would have gotten the 4moms pack in play that is a really simple set up but take down requires the removal of the mattress (not a deal breaker but noticeable on tear down time) the 4 moms has a changer on top but is swings off to the side so you dont have to remove it and store it somewhere else when the baby is in the bassinet or bottom pack in play portion like other ones call for. It is a bit cheaper than the bugaboo.

I have the bugaboo stardust and it was fantastic on a recent trip we did. Set up and take down super easy (literally under 5 seconds) and folds flat. My 7 month old slept really well in it too.

Our Nuna Sena is really nice and pretty easy to use but I would not recommend it if you actually plan to travel with it or move it around a lot. It's pretty bulky and heavy. We've taken it with us to go to a relative's house for the day for naps and that was fine. We also drove it on a cross-country roadtrip though and it would have been nice to have something more compact (both for space in the car as well as space needed to set it up in various hotels and family guest rooms). We've also flown with our daughter many times and have never ever wanted to deal with it for air travel!! The reason we picked it though is because it's fairly sleek and minimal looking so it didn't stick out among our livingroom furniture which is where we used it the most when our babe was little. If we could go back, the Bugaboo Stardust was our second choice and probably would have suited our needs better.

We have a Stardust and love it. The bassinet is rated for safe sleep up to 20lbs (vs 15 for graco.) We used it as baby’s main sleep spot until ~6.5 months. We’ll continue to use it for travel. The lower level is technically not approved for overnight sleep but there’s no other safe option for travel so 🤷‍♀️ It’s ridiculously easy to set up. My parents have a graco one and it’s sooooo much easier.

I have the bugaboo stardust. It’s great. It folds up super slim and easy to pack away. Its mattress has a high up setting for bassinet, and you can move it lower down for older baby

I bought a Phil and Ted's in December and I've set it up and disassembled multiple times. It still takes me at least 20 minutes because of the little tab/hook things to hold the mattress to the outer mesh/floor part. The rest is super easy - those 6 tabs are just really finicky! We really like it though - it's super lightweight and easy to carry. I would definitely put it in another bag for air travel, ideally a suitcase. Ours got a little dented in a softsided bag when checked on a westjet flight (not enough to be a problem, just a couple small circle dents like something heavy with screws was put on top).

It's fine to use it as your bedroom bassinet IF you have enough room. Pack n plays are usually quite wide and large so I can't put 1 in the bedroom, which is why I had to get a traditional but slim bassinet for the bedroom, and travel crib for the living room since we use that room the most. Or of course if baby has their own room, just get a crib, and use the pack n play for the most used room during the day. If your using the travel crib for the bedroom, as a bassinet, I'd recommend adding a 2nd one for use in the living room, especially if you got stairs (unless the 1 your getting is super easy to move like the bugaboo stardust). Getting 1 with a diaper changer is a good idea though. We have a changer in babies bedroom but not anywhere else. It's annoying having to keep going to the bedroom to change a diaper when your on the other side of the house. So having an extra spot to change baby is always a good idea. Id recommend getting some sort of "portable baby cart" or something to hold all of your baby needs things like Diapers, burp cloths, wipes, rash cream, etc. You can buy them fairly cheap at $25 to $50 at Walmart. We keep it next to the pack n play in the living room to hold all the baby stuff so the diaper changing area doesn't get cluttered with items (because it is a small area).

We bought the Bugaboo Stardust - only used it a couple of times so far when visiting grandparents house, in the bassinet setting as our baby is 3 weeks old, but we like it a lot so far. It’s very portable and super easy and quick to setup.

My kiddo has slept in the Bugaboo Stardust from birth and she just turned one. She is pretty happy in there. It's probably smaller than other travel cribs so I don't know when she will grow out of it. But it's better for smaller spaces due to the size. I'd say it folds up slim but its kinda large to travel with vs some other pack and plays.

I have the bugaboo stardust. The same mattress is used in the bassinet as in the main pack n play so I don't see why they both wouldn't be safe for unsupervised sleep?🤔 We loved it as a bassinet and now it serves as a crib at the grandparents' (though admittedly my child pretty much always sleeps with us and never in it, but that's just because he's the worst sleeper I have ever met 😅, it's not about the bugaboo, I swear!). I will say though that while I love the small footprint, it is smaller than a lot of pack n plays and since my kid is extremely tall, we'll probably have to sell this one and get something different soon (he's 14m now and it's tight). We have a small car and traveling with it was never an issue.

Second this. Love the stardust. It’s really fast to fold and unfold and comes with a nice dust bag. The pack and play section is rated safe for overnight sleep in the us/other countries so I do feel comfortable if she sleeps in that section now that baby is older. It’s almost mesh the whole way around other than the corners and the mattress is very firm.

I have both. Both are very portable and easy to move but the bugaboo folds flat and the remi folds like a usual playard (into a rectangle). Personally, I find the remi easier to fold because it's one button/handle in the middle to fold and it's very smooth. The stardust folds from the sides and it has always been a bit janky for me. I used the bugaboo stardust as a bassinet in my bedroom because it is smaller than the remi. It's a great size for that but I have large baby and he outgrew it by 6 months. He also started to roll a lot in his sleep and so while he can definitely still fit, he's probably more comfortable in a larger playard for travel sleep purposes. For bassinet purposes, it definitely was the best. It's small enough to be a bedside bassinet, and it doesn't take a lot of room. However, I also have pets and the remi has not held up well to my cats. The mesh is quite thin (which is good for breathability) but easily snagged. I have a couple of holes in mine already that I've had to repair with mesh tape. The stardust is great though. My cats have been using it as a scratching post 😡, but it looks brand new. Finally, the remi comes with sheets but you have to purchase sheets separately for the bugaboo. It's a weird size so it's also a little harder to find sheets for. Edit: the bassinet mode in the remi is smaller and the sheet included is only for the full mode. The bassinet mode is a weird size also and difficult to find sheets for as well but I used a regular bassinet sheet. It wasn't the greatest fit but it worked! Hope this helps!

https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/infant-care/playpens.html If you scroll down towards the end there is section about Playpen bassinet attachments, and it says “Bassinet attachments on playpens can be a safe sleep option for your baby until your baby can roll over or reaches the weight limit, whichever comes first” I believe the FAQ section on the bugaboo website for the stardust also says to stop using the bassinet insert when baby can roll. I’ve never looked up the uppababy remi so I can’t speak to that one specifically.

Had the bugaboo Stardust, baby is now 16 months I still use it when we stay away for a few nights it’s really handy, comes with a mattress/board and I just got the sheets and mattress protectors from Amazon just a generic brand to fit a travel cot

Thank you! We were actually hesitant getting a bassinet knowing that it'll only be used for a few short months. So we were looking at getting one of those convertible crib with bassinet so it's just one purchase that can be used for a longer period of time. I've seen the Bugaboo Stardust being recommended for the bassinet/pack n play combo but the bottom isn't sleep safe...? What mini-crib did you end up getting? Would you know where we can find which products are rated safe for sleep in Canada?

We have a Bugaboo Stardust and love it! It doesn’t have a zipper on the side but I don’t miss it, especially since I need to bend down to put baby/toddler in a crib anyways. Super simple to pop open and set up and to close and put in bag. It’s nice it lays fairly flat too when folded.

The bugaboo stardust travel crib ironically is rated sleep safe in the bassinet portion but I guess they didn’t bother looking for certification for the crib part. But way I saw it was that if it was sleep safe for a newborn, it’s likely more sleep safe for an infant.

Thanks for sharing! How easy is it to travel with the stardust? Have you flown with it? My biggest concern with the stardust vs the uppababy remi is that the playpen area seems to be smaller... does it feel cramped for the baby once they get a little older?

Another vote for the Stardust! We used the bassinet until baby could sit up at 4 months old. It can fit through a doorway, which is great! So easy to take down and set up too.

We went with the Bugaboo Stardust for travel and have been happy with it. We also keep it set up in our living room at home. Baby sleeps well in it (so far we've only used the bassinet level).

For future reference, I just flew with the Stardust and was really concerned about it ahead of time, almost went out and bought a Remi instead but decided to chance it because I love the Stardust. It arrived at the destination with no problem at all! It has to go through oversize baggage when it's being checked, but we have to do that for my Clek car seat bag anyways so it's no extra effort.

My daughter absolutely loves her Bugaboo Stardust. I have the Chicco version of the Lotus I keep downstairs and she only tolerates it, but she took the the Bugaboo immediately. I wish I had gotten it to begin with and just skipped the Halo bassinet. The mattress is a lot thicker than other pack and plays and they have a sheet you can buy for it. It also takes up less space. Edit: I do recommend the Chicco one though if your baby isn’t the Princess and the Pea like mine lol I love that it is totally machine washable and has a zipper on the side to open it up. It’s a great price, you can get it at Target or Buy Buy Baby, and I think it is nicer looking than the Lotus. I originally planned to buy a Lotus actually but my sister surprised me with the Chicco one so I kept it because free.

Thank you! I’m leaning towards the bugaboo. Another question for you, I read on an amazon Review - but I trust you more (you kind Reddit stranger lol) do you find the stardust short? This Amazon review said their child out grew it ? I would say my partner and I are average height (I’m 5’6 and he’s 6ft) .. so I don’t think baby girl will be a giant lol . They also mentioned the mattress cover/ sheet is super hard to get on and off ? My girl has reflux and is the queen of poop explosions .. so I could see that being annoying. Thank you so much!
