I have, and like, the Bugaboo Stardust. It folds flat, and can set up and take down in under a minute. It's lightweight and easy, which I was looking for with a bad back. The bassinet is rated up to 19 lbs, if that interests you, and is included (it's a seperate buy for the Phil and Ted). When I was looking, the 2 best options seemed to be the Bugaboo and the Phil and Ted's. The type of travel that you're doing (air vs car) might be a big consideration, since the Phil and Ted's packs up smaller. Edit to add: both of those are rated for safe sleep in Canada. Anything called a "crib" is okay, but playards are not safe sleep rated here.

I have the Bugaboo Stardust and Phil and Ted's traveller. The Stardust is so easy to set up and fold down but doesn't pack up very small - it just goes flat but still the size of the end of the pack n play. Great for car travel, but we haven't flown with it. Grandparents much prefer the Stardust for the ease of use. I like the Phil and Ted's for the outdoors better, I bought the sun cover and it's more versatile in that sense. Packs up super small and light, it's like a camp chair when disassembled. But, no matter how many times I've done it it always takes me around 15 full minutes to set it up. I have an older version so maybe it's improved now. Both have their merits for me, it depends on how you expect to use it.

I have the bugaboo stardust and it was fantastic on a recent trip we did. Set up and take down super easy (literally under 5 seconds) and folds flat. My 7 month old slept really well in it too.

We have Bugaboo stardust. I chose it because the bassinet's size is the same as the "main" bed size. Many travel cribs have bassinets that are half the size of the bottom bed. My baby is skinny, so Stardust allowed us to use the upper bassinet when he was still within weight restrictions, but would have been too long for most other bassinets. That said, now at 16 months he's close to outgrowing its length altogether. I might need a new travel option soon. Otherwise Stardust is so freaking easy to fold and set up. It has a decent travel bag, but usually flies as "oversize" baggage.

I have the bugaboo stardust. It’s great. It folds up super slim and easy to pack away. Its mattress has a high up setting for bassinet, and you can move it lower down for older baby

I bought a Phil and Ted's in December and I've set it up and disassembled multiple times. It still takes me at least 20 minutes because of the little tab/hook things to hold the mattress to the outer mesh/floor part. The rest is super easy - those 6 tabs are just really finicky! We really like it though - it's super lightweight and easy to carry. I would definitely put it in another bag for air travel, ideally a suitcase. Ours got a little dented in a softsided bag when checked on a westjet flight (not enough to be a problem, just a couple small circle dents like something heavy with screws was put on top).

It's fine to use it as your bedroom bassinet IF you have enough room. Pack n plays are usually quite wide and large so I can't put 1 in the bedroom, which is why I had to get a traditional but slim bassinet for the bedroom, and travel crib for the living room since we use that room the most. Or of course if baby has their own room, just get a crib, and use the pack n play for the most used room during the day. If your using the travel crib for the bedroom, as a bassinet, I'd recommend adding a 2nd one for use in the living room, especially if you got stairs (unless the 1 your getting is super easy to move like the bugaboo stardust). Getting 1 with a diaper changer is a good idea though. We have a changer in babies bedroom but not anywhere else. It's annoying having to keep going to the bedroom to change a diaper when your on the other side of the house. So having an extra spot to change baby is always a good idea. Id recommend getting some sort of "portable baby cart" or something to hold all of your baby needs things like Diapers, burp cloths, wipes, rash cream, etc. You can buy them fairly cheap at $25 to $50 at Walmart. We keep it next to the pack n play in the living room to hold all the baby stuff so the diaper changing area doesn't get cluttered with items (because it is a small area).

I have the bugaboo stardust and it’s so slim and perfect. You can easily fold it and put it away if you need it. I can open it with one hand. It’s amazing

we have the bugaboo stardust and it's rated for sleep, my son has been sleeping in it overnight in our room for 4 months now! it folds up so easily too.

My daughter absolutely loves her Bugaboo Stardust. I have the Chicco version of the Lotus I keep downstairs and she only tolerates it, but she took the the Bugaboo immediately. I wish I had gotten it to begin with and just skipped the Halo bassinet. The mattress is a lot thicker than other pack and plays and they have a sheet you can buy for it. It also takes up less space. Edit: I do recommend the Chicco one though if your baby isn’t the Princess and the Pea like mine lol I love that it is totally machine washable and has a zipper on the side to open it up. It’s a great price, you can get it at Target or Buy Buy Baby, and I think it is nicer looking than the Lotus. I originally planned to buy a Lotus actually but my sister surprised me with the Chicco one so I kept it because free.

For future reference, I just flew with the Stardust and was really concerned about it ahead of time, almost went out and bought a Remi instead but decided to chance it because I love the Stardust. It arrived at the destination with no problem at all! It has to go through oversize baggage when it's being checked, but we have to do that for my Clek car seat bag anyways so it's no extra effort.

Another vote for the Bugaboo stardust ! I’m having baby number 2 now and I think I’ll just use it as my full time bassinet as well for the beginning :)

The bugaboo stardust travel crib ironically is rated sleep safe in the bassinet portion but I guess they didn’t bother looking for certification for the crib part. But way I saw it was that if it was sleep safe for a newborn, it’s likely more sleep safe for an infant.

Thank you! We were actually hesitant getting a bassinet knowing that it'll only be used for a few short months. So we were looking at getting one of those convertible crib with bassinet so it's just one purchase that can be used for a longer period of time. I've seen the Bugaboo Stardust being recommended for the bassinet/pack n play combo but the bottom isn't sleep safe...? What mini-crib did you end up getting? Would you know where we can find which products are rated safe for sleep in Canada?

Had the bugaboo Stardust, baby is now 16 months I still use it when we stay away for a few nights it’s really handy, comes with a mattress/board and I just got the sheets and mattress protectors from Amazon just a generic brand to fit a travel cot

When you fly with the bugaboo stardust do you just put it in the bag? We’ve only done car rides with it so far but have a plane trip coming up and are not sure if we should bring it or rent something or what.

Thank you! I’m leaning towards the bugaboo. Another question for you, I read on an amazon Review - but I trust you more (you kind Reddit stranger lol) do you find the stardust short? This Amazon review said their child out grew it ? I would say my partner and I are average height (I’m 5’6 and he’s 6ft) .. so I don’t think baby girl will be a giant lol . They also mentioned the mattress cover/ sheet is super hard to get on and off ? My girl has reflux and is the queen of poop explosions .. so I could see that being annoying. Thank you so much!
