I'd get another one. See if your insurance offers a more portable pump (I had the Ameda Mya Joy from insurance and it could fit in a pocket). Then you could leave the Spectra at work and have a second pump at home that is small enough to wear around while you do things and not have to lug them back and forth.

DONT get the Ameda Mya Joy. :( It takes batteries, so it’s technically ‘portable’ but not really. It’s too heavy to really stay clipped on your waistband and it blasts through batteries stupid fast. It takes 4 batteries but completely killed them in a few days. At that rate it wasn’t worth walking around with it because it’s too expensive to keep popping 4 batteries in it every few days.

Yep! Having a wearable option is so great when you have 2 kids.

A lot of others have also recommended a portable pump so I’m going to check again to see they cover one, thank you.

Thread: "Hospital grade pump - worth it?"

It didn’t make a huge difference to me in production but the different pumps felt way different. My body only liked my lasinoh smartpump and the medela symphony. The spectra didn’t feel right no matter what I did and my freemie and ameda mya joy weren’t strong enough. (I had 3 different insurances, a friend let me borrow her spectra and my work provided the symphony.) The spectra was strong enough but the interval was way too slow and was frequently painful because of the vibration it caused. The wall pumps were similar in strength to the hospital pump but the symphony had the most adjustability in strength. The lasinoh had more adjustability than the hospital pump but performance was waning after 9 months of nearly constant use. The smallest pumps didn’t have enough suction.
